Darlene, we are 45 people and they only place they can accomodate us is at the Buffet.

I am starting to watch the weather for punta cana and it's saying rain every day! I really hope it doesn't rein every day of our trip, especially the wedding day !

Has anyone been to punta cana in the last week? How has the weather been? Forecast is showing rain every day. I still have a couple of weeks to my wedding but I am freaking out that it will rain every day we are there.

Regarding the tan suits, you can rent from Jos A Banks. I believe it's called the Al Fresco, if I remember correctly. If you want light gray, you can rent from Mens Warehouse or Jos A Banks. Smaller tux shops may have tan suits as well. Regarding the Welcome/Rehearsal Dinner, they are not letting us have it at an a la carte restaurant. They have offered that we can have it at the buffet or pay an additional fee per person for the Beach BBQ, but they will not allow it in one of the sit-down establishments. I was extremely disappointed by this. I refuse to pay one more penny to this resort for the Beach BBQ (and I do not have another $1500 in my budget at this point), so I guess I am stuck with the buffet, which was not my vision at all.

How much are fireworks? I did not know they were an option!

We sent out an email telling everyone about our plans about 9 months before the wedding, then we sent our STDs about 7 months before the wedding, We sent out our invitations 3 months before the wedding, with rsvps due 2 months before the wedding... The rsvp cards have been coming in every day-- so exciting!

How many hours of open bar are you planning on doing? And which option are you going with? i was thinking of doing the cocktail open bar and the dinner open bar (running a tab through each in case someone wanted something else) and then doing a 3 hrs of either the local option or the middle option.....

Hi Ladies, I am so frustrated and I am hoping you could help. I know I keep venting about this stupid welcome dinner here, but I am getting no where on this. I am having 40-50 guests and when I booked I was verbally told I could have a Welcome Dinner at one of the restaurants for no additional cost. Now, I am being told that none of the restaurants can hold more than TEN PEOPLE at once. This has to be BS. I remember personally speaking to another bride who had her's at Gabi Beach. I know other people have done similar as well. I am open as to which restaurant we book at but I do want everyone TOGETHER. Do any past brides have any experience with this? Our group is spending well over $50K between all of the guests rooms and accomodations, and there is no way I am splitting up all of my guests for the welcome dinner. We have spoken with the resort directly and they have been no help AT ALL. In fact, they have been trying to upsell us to pay for a two-hour cocktail reception instead, and there is no way I am spending one more penny at this resort. I am so annoyed right now. I would never have booked this resort if I knew how hard they were going to be to deal with. I know it is supposed to be a beautiful property, and that is why I chose it, but right now I am really regretting my decision. Anyway, if any past brides have any experience with planning something like this it would be much appreciated! Thanks

Yes, if you went with one of the packages, you would have 2 appetizer options, and two entree options (with two sides) plus a pasta. There are 5 package options to choose from, but you can also just make a custom menu if you do not like the choices.

When you say a lounge area, do you mean the white couches? I wanted them as well. Do you mind sharing what the cost is? Thanks!!!!
