We have three hours, 1 1/2 before the ceremony, then 1 1/2 during and after. I think that'll be plenty for us and our family and guests.

You might want to start by working with a travel agent through an agency or destinationweddings.com, most of them earn their commission from the resort directly so you won't have to pay them or pay higher prices since you're using an agent. They'll help you start putting some of the costs together if you already have a resort in mind. BTW, congrats!! I heard Hard Rock is awesome!!!

You can definitely do a gorgeous wedding for less than 10K, most weddings in the US are upwards of 25K!! You just have to think of what's the most important to you and your fiance. Once you have the resort chosen, I think you can safely spend almost half on your resort and airfare. I may be totally off, but here's some stuff that i've seen prices for and/or already booked for my wedding with a budget of 10k 10K budget Resort and Airfare: 4500 Invitations, Save the dates, postage, thank yous: 500 Wedding event for 40: 800 Bouquet: 80 Bridal party flowers: 200 Wedding dress: 1000 (may be less or more, mine was only 400 on sale!) Photographer: 1000 that leaves you with roughly 2000 to spend on whatever extra, OOT bags, fees for marriage (if applicable), gifts for your wedding party, hair, makeup, ceremony decorations, etc. Now I may be way off on some of these, but I'm just going off of what I've already booked or looked into for my wedding. You can do it!!!!

best of luck with the sky lanterns, I haven't heard of many places that will allow them due to wind and them trying to protect their resort, bhah!

Try to figure out what's important to you and go from there. Ceremony, photographer, groom's room, honeymoon breakfast/dinner, reception, reservations for group dinner, etc.

haha, we are all in the same boat! lol literally about your napkin comment, I really hope your resort would supply napkins : ) people won't be able to remember what color they were anyways! I was looking at some bottle openers last night too! I was thinking of a really cool mexican one or the flip flop one that all over the favor sites. I can't really find any lots of the mexican ones though. Corona has these really cool bottles with an opener at the top but they're a fortune and once again I can't find any lots or sets of them for cheap so I'll hold off. I asked my fiance about the bottle opener and if it was cheesy and his response: uhhhh I don't know. lol!! that really makes me wanna hold off, if he doesn't think they're cool, then most likely other people won't, i guess? My mom saw a receipt on my coffee table for 15 sewing kits and she cracked up and keeps pestering me why in the world i would have a need for so many sewing kits, but i refuse to tell her about my OOT bags. I just want everyone to be like "omg we had no idea, what a thoughtful surprise" : ) I have been off all week and everyday trying to post at least 20 to make it to 150 and can't believe I'm almost there already!!! Woo hoo!!! Then the pressure will be on to start producing some stuff, scarrryyy!!! I don't really have a theme, we had some invitations drafted up at a place by our house and I just knew I liked starfish so they're showing up there, and going to stamp something on my OOT bags, but haven't decided what just yet or what type of bag so we'll see. Colors...well we only have one bridesmaid dress in the wedding party (just my sister as my MOH to keep it small) and her dress is persimmon from david's bridal. Loving the orangy guava persimmon colors. How about you?
