mrsHK - I'm less than 2 weeks out for my Playa wedding... and am trying to determine if I need to bring mason jars (or something similar) with me. Do you know if I'd be able to find about 2 dozen jars somewhere there? I assume yes, but don't want to find myself in a bind. I'm using the attached paper for a table runner, and am trying to find jars for a similar setup as the attached image... any help you can offer is appreciated!

Checking back to see if any of you had luck finding the jars down there? I'm less than two weeks out and would like to not have to pack and bring with me also. Hope one of you still browse this site! Thanks! -

Hi - I'm having a similar issue with communication... who are you working with? I think I'll likely extend my reception for the hour (I'll have approx 50-60 guests also) for the reasons you list above. I'm not doing the DJ, but I assume that would be an additional fee also... it all quickly adds up! Are you hosting your reception at Central beach also?

Is anyone aware of how far Central beach at GPR is from The Royal? We (along with almost all guests) are staying at the Royal but we had to book the wedding at GPR in order to get the day we wanted because The Royal was booked - just want to make sure it isn't a crazy hike! I know North beach is close to the Royal, but that location isn't available unfortunately. Also, has anyone come across a photo of a ceremony in the beachfront gazebo at GPR? We're planning to have the ceremony there before moving to Central beach for the reception and I wanted to get a better idea of set up (for 50ish guests).

Hi all! I'm going back on forth about hiring a photographer... I've just upgraded my wedding package which now includes 25 photos from the resort photographer during the ceremony... but I haven't seen their work so it makes me nervous. I just requested a portfolio from my contact but am not sure if they have something like this... anyone read or heard of success with this option? I hate to pay for the upgrade which includes the option, and then have to pay on top of that to hire another photographer... BUT this is the most important part of the experience, right?! =)

Hi, everyone! Well, we've made the important decision to host our wedding at the Gran Porto Real in Playa on April 13, 2013. We're staying at The Royal, but the times/locations that we wanted to host the ceremony and reception were unavailable so we decided to move it next door. This option has actually worked out quite nicely as it gives our budget concious guests another option without having to pay for a day pass or other fees for the wedding day. I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? We're hosting the ceremony at 6p at the Gazebo, and the cocktail and private reception on the beach immediately following the reception. I have so many questions (menus, decor, vendors, which beach is best, etc, etc.) and am wondering if there is anyone out there struggling with the same? Would love to get together to share ideas/info! As of now we have 35ish guests and think we'll end up somewhere between 50-60 total. Most guests as of right now will be staying at The Royal.

Is there another forum that I'm missing to help provide some info? Hello fellow Real resort brides! Looking for some input/feedback on the Royal Real and Gran Porto Real in Playa... We wanted to host our ceremony and reception at the Royal where we plan to stay for the wedding, but there are no open wedding locations on the date we are trying to book. My travel agent suggested that we host the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at the Gran Porto, even though most guests will be staying at the Royal. The resort has agreed to allowing us to do so, but I'm somewhat concerned about the details... has anyone else out there had a similar situation? I also can't find a ton online regarding locations at the Gran Porto - was thinking I would like to do ceremony in gazebo, cocktail hour outside gazebo and reception on beach. Does anyone know which beach location is the most private? Would APPRECIATE any feedback, thanks so much!

Great, we've also decided on the Royal! If you don't mind sharing, which location will you be having the ceremony/reception at? Thanks for the feedback! -
