  1. you can see the size of the bowls in this picture.they shells on the outside are the ones i provided and they were intended for much larger bowls. overall the setting is pretty tho. this picture is what my centerpeices would have looked like with my bowls. maybe you can see the size comparision in relation to the piece of coral to the bowl
  2. As far as the veil, mine was really small and a birdcage so I'm not so shocked it went missing. She prob thought it was trash! Just keep an eye on what you leave hanging out and about. I didn't mean to disappoint any brides by my review, I am happy with how my day went just felt like things could have gone different. The cocktail hour was cool, we had the ultimate package so we had the mariachi band, but honestly it wasn't anything to write home about, no biggie if you don't have the cocktail hour. If you have the band then ya the cocktail hour is cool cuz at least guests have entertainment. The food is ok, it's just hit or miss really. The stuff that's gross is REALLY gross. I'm not super picky myself, so I didn't care, I never went hungry. We hadn't planned on attending our cocktail hour, but our pics only took like 20-30 mins(my sin was screaming for mom and dad) so we ended up hanging out there. The center pieces we got were cool, but I brought all of my own shells and coral, thy just provided the bowls cuz mine had broke. They were SMALL. For 15$ a piece. I had bought my large square bowls for 10$ a piece so it seemed pretty silly. As far as your menus, just think about what I said about the wind. I even had hand raffia fans and programs, but Landy stuck them into the chair sashes cause they would have blown away. I now know a 5 pm wedding on the beach doesn't need fans. Maybe there is a little something you could get for your menus to help weigh them down. I could have said something about my menus, but by the time I made it to the reception, all of the guests were standing right next to it, so it would have looked and seemed silly for her to run around and put them out at that point. I'll post some pics of my reception shortly:)
  3. Just posted it:) it may take some time for it to be viewable if it gets reviewed by moderation. If there is anything I can help with let me know. Everyone was so helpful to me before my wedding so I would love to return the favor to you future dreams tulum brides! Ill be adding pics as well
  4. Hi ladies! I've just returned from dreams Tulum for our wedding. Overall it was really great with some bumps in the road. I'll be posting a review soon. In the mean time if anyone has any questions I'll be glad to help!
  5. Hello Ladies! I have been MIA for a while but have been keeping up with you alls progress. Everytime I look I see 50+ posts! I have been busy with school, the wedding, and of course my little one, but I miss you guys:( Anywho, we leave the states for Mexico in 7 days! I have some things left to do but I do have things "under control" lol. I can't believe I'll be married in 2 weeks! I can't wait to see everyone's pics when we get back! There have been some bumps in the road, but in the long run I know I'll look back and think that everything was perfect! So I know there are 1-2 locals that frequent this thread, so I thought I would pick your brains. I am bringing my own photog, and we had planned on doing a cenote shoot for some underwater pics. BUT, she traveled this week and her underwater casing equipment was stolen from her checked baggage. Does anyone know of any Playa or surrounding area dive shop that rents housings or casings? Totally random question but I'm so sad I won't be getting my underwater pics:( she just can't afford to purchase a new housing for her camera before we leave.
  6. We actually chose the silver cocktail options cause they look better than the gold, that's just us though. I think if you have over 50 ppl, you have to get the buffet option, not sure what the menu is like though...
  7. Hue maria, In regards to the welcome dinner question. They do offer them, but I believe they charge extra per head over 20 or 25 people, which can get pricey. Seems silly for an all inclusive but it's what they do. In terms of a group excursion, with that many ppl u could get a good rate on a catamaran or boat to take your guests out. Lots of tours give good group rates. The resort also offers tequila tastings, it's like 16$ pp and have a bunch of diff tequilas to try and tell you the history of tequila and provide appetizers.
  8. Actually, that's not a bad idea at all. With tulle hanging across and re creating the flower/leaves look, I think it would be really nice and give that enclosed look your going for
  9. Ahhh I see. The picture is very pretty! It just looks so big though, seems like a lot to pack. Maybe you can rent something from an outside provider. Hopefully some other ladies have some helpful ideas!
  10. What about something like this. Easy diy to line the aisle. You could Also make starfish raffia hanger to hang on the chairs along the isle. They would travel really well!
  11. Good luck, everything will come together nice for you. Remind yourself you have lots if time!
  12. Youre not crazy, and everything will come together really nicely for you. Sit down and get your budget together. Figure out how much y can come up with, and allocate it where it is most important, a TA can help find you the best deal,( mine is awesome). Tax time is a good time to set some money aside, and cut out any little expenses you can. Do it like I am, become a DIY bride! You can make sooo much of your decor, invitations, ect. Cut costs where they can be cut! Chairs, reception, DJ ect. Figure out what IS MOST important, like photography, dress ect. As far as dresses go, buy used! Look at sample sales.
  13. No... That's not bad! I was in class when I got the email and almost left so I could go home and check it out too lol. 9-11 weeks well be in paradise! Sounds like no time and have so much left to do...
  14. No...I haven't set that appointment up yet. Just ask her if you can meet the day of, tell her you want to get everything cleared away so you can enjoy the week. Got my planning form today. Sooooo excited!
  15. Ok, thanks! I don't have an iPod :/ just the phone... I'll have to play around and see if I can't figure It out! Thanks so much
