If 10,1 and 5 are the only slots, How did we get 12:00 noon which is the worst possible slot in my opinion? we asked for 5 also but the judge was not available.

Thought I would start a new thread for my fellow April brides to plan a time to get together during our stay there to share ideas, a social (aka bachelorette evening)- for all brides who are getting married April, I'm getting married on April 25 at noon on the beach so my fellow April 23-29 brides are welcome to visit and see how it goes so you will have a reference point. Maybe it would be a good way to share some decorations or ideas about activities. I am sharing sashes, runners, and votive and other items with Kristen (or we are sharing cost, I should say) as she is getting married two days after me and the WC said they will hold the items for her until her time two days later. This might be a good place for others to join up to do the same. It worked out great for us so it might for you too.

I requested an evening wedding for sunset pics but it was not possible. The judge was not available. Id love to change the date to evening but I'm thinking its not an option this late in the game for an April wedding. too bad.

Yes, we got 12:00 in the day too but I requested a later wedding ceremony. I did not start planning though until three weeks ago in July 2012 so april 25 at noon is all they had availible besides april 29 and the flights did not work for that date for us as we went with transat out of St. John's nl, . I have a section og Flavours booked off at 1:30 for our group to have lunch with pics after that so that should take about 2.5 hours. Not sure what to do after that. Dinner is not until 6:30 at the sea and see so it is a long wait but I"m wondering if anyone has any suggestions for what to do in between too? We are having a beach reception with ipod or cd's as my fiance is familiar with sound systems as he owns his own system at home so it should be fairly easy to set the ipod and roll with it. It looks like the reception on the beach is going to cost about 2000 (set up, sound system, bartender, dance floor, two lights and national bar and two panels). We are only expecting 20 people so I,m wondering if the cost is worth it. We are travelling with our 4 kids and are paying $11,500 for the the all inclusive and another 450 for insurance so im not sure about the reception but I do really want to have it. What do you think about not having a reception? Has anyone not done it and what was your experience? We were booked with the group rate and would have gotten tickets for 1000 less only one week ago but most people who plan on attending wanted to wait until after christmas to book hoping the seats are less expensive. Its 1950 adult from NL and two of our kids are above 10 so are being charged the adult rate. Noone wanted to pay the deposit on the group rate so we had to cancel it and go with current rates whic cost 1000 more even after only one week. so we are on a budget to say the least!!

All we could get for late April was the 29 or 25 and the only time on the 25th was at noon! I was not so happy about that but it was all they had. Anyone else have an early ceremony and how was it?

how do you add you wedding date, etc in the top right corner of your replies, I see it appears automatically in your previous posts. Just wonder if anyone else is getting heck from parents for deciding to do the DW instead of a traditional one? Really putting a damper on my excitement!

it would be so awesome if other brides for Majestic Elegance Punta Cana could indicate their wedding date and duration of stay here so we can get together for a bachelorette party while we are all there or just to meet for a social. My wedding date is : April 25,2013 at 12:00 arrival 1:50 am April 23 departure 1:50 am April 30 Keep it going gals and I hope to see you there for a get together of some kind.

I was not considering doing invitations at all because the wedding is only 8 months away and I don't have a guest list done up because we were planning the traditional wedding at home and would have had lots of time to doit that way had we stuck to the traditional wedding at home. I opened a wedding web page for everyone to check out details of the wedding and I put the web address on Facebook with an RSVP section if they want tomattend. I am not doing invitations but after seeing your posts, I am wondering if I am making the right decision. Smehow I did not think they were necessary for a wedding away and we did decide late in the game we were going away to get married so notice is not really an option now We don't even have invitations done to order so how long does the process take to get them ordered and sent out? I'm thinking I will only have a few months left by the time they are mailed and that is by no means enough time to give notice for a destination wedding. Oh well. Facebook will have to do. Regarding family being indecisive and somewhat upset about going away, I am the only girl in a family of 5 in my adoptive family and in my bio family, I am youngest of 6 but only one brother from my adoptive family can come.the rest will not be attending. My mom ( adopted) is disappointed we are going away because she said she did not picture her only girl doing her wedding day this way but she said its up to me but she said " know this, know no one will get there". Little guilt trip but I dealt with it and continued on withmy decision. is hard going away but I feel it is the right decision for us. I'm over the guilt. The invites on face book are open invitations to everyone. All are invited so that leaves no one out. I had a guest list of 700 between all my family's and that was only handful of friends, a few coworkers and first cousins, a few aunts and immediate family so what a nightmare that was! So instead of offending everyone who I was forced to cut off the list, we decided to go away instead. Problem solved. So far, we have 29 expressing an interest so far. I am really excited now that the family issues and guest list is not a factor. Can't wait.. Any more majestic elegance brides out there getting married in punta Cana the week of April 22-30, 2013? It would be great to get together and have a girls night out before the wedding. What a blast a combined bachelorette party we could have. I have already found two brides getting married the same week on the majestic elegance group on Facebook. Look it up..it's an awesome site..

I have been on line for a week trying to get a civil judge confirmed. We finally have a date for April at the majestic elegance in Punta Cana. Anyone out there who has gotten married there and can give me a heads up on what it was like or tips for planning. What is included in packages for example and what I need to do myself. For example will the be a dance and an opportunity for the first dance with my groom. Lots of questions!!!

Hi I am trying to find a resort to book our wedding in April 2013 but it is proving very difficult and tedious to navigate through all the resort web sites to get wedding coordinator names..some resorts said I need to book the rooms myself and they they do not coordinate with room availability when booking the wedding date. They said they willtry to coordinate with the judge however. Is there a simpler way to coordinate this? I have spent hours trying to locate coordinators names and email addresses and try to get a date set. I still am no further ahead. Any sites that lists coordinators names for resorts or do I have to continue to flail around hoping to get lucky? Thanks
