  1. My daughter was married in Oct. 2014 in Cabo and we hired Neysa in January of 2014. We did not find out until we went for her trial makeup and hair that 2 days before the wedding that Neysa was not attending her wedding. The girl that was assigned to do my daughter's hair and makeup was ill the day of the trial, so Neysa did it. Neysa was EXCELLENT. My daughter's hair and makeup looked beautiful. Neysa took pictures every step of the way so the person could follow what she had done. My daughter's hairstyle included a braid across the lower back with an updo. Neysa assured us everything would go fine. The day of the wedding, 3 people showed up. There was one person assigned to my daughter after doing her future MIL's hair/makeup. The other 2 girls were doing 3 bridesmaids and me. The girl that did all of our makeup was EXCELLENT. She was perfect. Better than the girl that did my daughter's makeup. The girl doing everyone's hair was not as good. In the weather there, fine hair goes limp after being curled. More product needed to be used to make the hair stay in the hair do or an alternative needed to be offered of another option. We came up with an alternate hairdo for one girl to keep it from being straight after curled and the other girl who has very long hair, just ended up with straight hair despite trying to fix it herself. The girl doing my daughter's hair didn't pay attention to the pictures that had been taken or talk to my daughter as things went along in the process. When the hair was all done, it wasn't what my daughter wanted and had to be started over (after taking at least an hour). The 2 girls working on me had to stop and redo my daughter's hair completely. The girl that was doing her did nothing. Needless to say, we ended up very rushed and about 20 minutes for pictures before which wasn't enough time to get everything needed. We don't know if the girl that was supposed to do her hair/makeup was still sick and this was a last minute replacement or this was the person that was supposed to come. Neysa never called us or followed up in anyway to ask how things had gone or offer any explanation. We paid a lot for this and we felt like it was not really worth what we got. Obviously, you know that Neysa is not coming to your wedding, so that information has improved, but I would make sure you get your trial with whoever is coming. Neysa is REALLY REALLY good herself, but we were disappointed with what happened.
  2. My daughter used Karla Casillas for her wedding coordinator. We had a year to plan. The wedding was in Oct. 2013 at Cabo del Sol. The year was unpleasant and a real struggle. We would not recommend Karla at all. Luz Maria at Cabo del Sol was wonderful and we couldn't have been happier with the location.
  3. My daughter just got married last month at Cabo del Sol. It was INCREDIBLE and BEAUTIFUL and WONDERFUL and everyone said it was the best wedding that they have EVER been to. Luz Mariz is GREAT! We used Karla Casillas, and like the person above, I would not recommend her. On the wedding day everything was coordinated very well by her assistants without her there, but the year leading up to the wedding trying to arrange everything was not pleasant. I would definitely try to find a wedding planner simply because there are things that day that you do not want to have to worry about or be in charge of. It is your day and you don't need to worry about schedules or details. The planners keep everything moving as it should, especially if you are on a schedule/deadline with your photographers/videographers to get everything you want in before they leave.
  4. Yes, they have Costco & Sam's Club (might be called Gigante). They give guest passes.
  5. She has a website with prices. Just google her.
  6. 22 oz is the same size that we get at bar & grill-type-restaurants. We didn't want a huge cup. It's not insulated so we didn't want the drink to get hot. These are more standard everyday size people will use at home. Considerably bigger than the 8 oz cups they give at the bar at our hotel. Guess everyone has their own expectation.
  7. Lesson #13 in Oprah's Life Class: When people show you who they are, believe them. Who has she shown you to be during your friendship? I think deep down you are hurt, but not really surprised. You just wanted her to be someone better.
  8. We are going to Costco in Cabo, Mexico, to buy our food/beverage items, but we are not having personalized water bottles. The Costco/Sam's Clubs offer guest passes in resort towns.
  9. We ordered them from the person that we ordered the wedding invitiatons through and I don't know what company she uses. However, check out this link. http://www.crazyaboutcups.com/personalized-stadium-cups-16-or-22-oz.html I think their cups are the same price and you can get lids and straws if you want for cheap and they have way better clip art available than the company we ordered from. I think we could have saved ourselves the $45 we spent for the art if we would have used this company. We used a 22 oz stadium cup.
  10. We decided to order these stadium cups with lids and straws to put in the Welcome bags for everyone to use at the resort and a gift to take home. They were around $60 for all of that + we ordered the clip art file to be used which was $19 and then they charged us $30 to use our own art. We didn't really like any of their art. Not as cheap as we wanted, but we have about 40 people, so bringing anything bigger is not an option. Plus, we don't think keeping their drink ice cold is really a necessity. The cups they give at the bars are not insulated. If you need to keep it cold for longer, maybe you need to drink faster. These will also be a lot easier to pack. Also getting an individual packaged marg mix with a personalized label on the front for $1.35 ea. to put inside the cup. There are free bottles of tequila in each hotel room at the Riu Santa Fe so they will be able to mix up a marg in their own room or take it home.
  11. What I mean is they don't like you bringing in towels or such items to give away in the bags. I know a girl that had to pay a duty on them. I don't know how much it was supposed to be, but she got them to agree to $150. I don't think they care about the bags or any kind of linens or anything to use for the wedding.
  12. I haven't seen any of that kind of app that links them from different places to one album. Can you tell me what apps those might be? We have seen the ones you can have people load the app you pick and then post all of their pictures to that location. However, we are assuming using the app (assuming they download the app before they go) will still make their phones access the internet and use data to load the pictures while in Mexico and that would cost them big $.
  13. I have done reserach on Mexico and read numerous posts on this website in different places, but that's why I'm asking if others have had trouble getting the drugs through. Yes, everyone does these Welcome Bags and Hangover Kits, but there are certain things they don't like. For instance, they don't like if you bring in textiles, like towels, they will charge you a duty for those. I'm just checking here to see if other brides have had any difficulty with customs seeing their pre-packaged bags with sunscreen, lip balm, ibuprofen, immodium, pepto-bismol and said anything. I don't know if we should spread these things out between the 7 people going with us and put things in there packages there. Just like to hear some experience with brides that have gone to Mexico. I know you can take in $300 worth of stuff per person, and need the receipts to prove how much things cost. It's not the same as Jamaica or other Caribbean properties.
  14. Great to know! Did you declare this on your customs forms and did they check your bags or did you get a green light to go through without them seeing it?
  15. Has anyone had trouble getting the drugs to give to everyone (like the Hangover kits) through customs? Our WC told us that you can bring in drugs for yourself, but not for anyone else AND they even consider lip balm and sunscreen drugs.
  16. There are prices on her website. http://www.neysaberman.com/pricing-menu/
  17. I should say we have prices that they gave us in October of 2012.
