How long does it usually take to book a destination wedding? 1 year? How about in 2 years? After planning hundreds of weddings per year, we have come to a very important bottom line: all couples are different.

It doesn´t matter if you wish to book 3 years in advance or 2 months in advance, we have got it covered. There are only so many factors that go into a wedding, to name a few; flowers, food, dress, cake, photographer, venue, colors and decorations.
Now imagine planning all of this in only 72 hours, yes you read that right, 72 hours. Not 72 days, not 72 weeks, but only 72 hours! Well, we made it happen and it all started on a Tuesday afternoon.
Last Tuesday afternoon we received an unusual request, as a bride was inquiring about availability for Friday, for that same Friday. Now, even though January is a very busy month for weddings in the beautiful Las Caletas beach, which is located in warm Puerto Vallarta, we were lucky to have availability on such short notice.

So what did we do? We got to work! Our amazing Adventure Weddings team did the unthinkable yet not impossible. We contacted our future bride in no time, who let us know her fiancé and her were in town and decided to have an elopement wedding, how cool! Once we explained in a very brief yet precise way of how we would make this work, it was only Wednesday and the adventurous couple had booked their Barefoot ceremony with Adventure Weddings and was already working with our coordinators.

The date and time were set, Friday at 8:00am was the meeting time for our couple to begin this adventure. Our wonderful coordinator had 24 hours to arrange a wedding, a beautiful barefoot ceremony for 2, on a hideaway beach which is only reached by boat.

    Flowers & Decorations:
As they say, there is beauty in simplicity, and even though simple was key in this wedding planning, beauty was definitely achieved. For their reception they chose wood exposed tables & chairs with white table runners and napkins.
For the flowers, they chose an adorable combination of white and greenery, using mostly white roses, eucalyptus and gypso for the boutonniere, bouquet & centerpiece. The bride also wore a gorgeous flower crown made by our florists using only baby’s breath. However, we are sure no matter what flowers she chose, her happiness was glowing at all times.

    Cake:
There is always time for cake, which in order to match the theme was a naked, vanilla frosted, 1 tier oh so delicious cake with a couple of white roses on the top.

    Key Ingredients: Love & Happiness
The entire day was magical, their love and happiness was glowing every minute. Not only did we manage this “express” booking and planning, however they made our week by sharing this amazing love story and allowing us to be part of it.
We look forward to having many more unique stories of this kind, where only love matters, where we could make a dream come true and witness the beginning of an amazing adventure.

Adventure Weddings truly appreciates each of our couples for allowing us to bring their dreams to life and we can´t wait to see what many future brides and grooms have in store for us.
    Thank you!

You’ve figured out who you want to sit by whom, now it’s time to get creative and make it your own. Here are 8 creative ideas to customize your seat assignments!

    Personalized Notes
As an alternative to traditional escort cards on a table, create a board and pin the cards horizontally. Use a mix of colors and designs that match your wedding theme. A touching addition is a thank you note on the back side. Let your guests know how much you appreciate them for attending and add a cute memory you have with each person!

    Frame it up
For a creative twist, Maxine & Eric used several picture frames and they listed their guest by table on each one; creating a beautiful display. Bonus: Keep the frames for your house décor!

    Incorporate your wedding theme
Add elements to the seating cards according to your wedding theme, for instance, since our wedding receptions take place at a beautiful private beach, we’ve had couples bring cute, ceramic coral place card holders. One of our favorites was Jackie & Andrew’s wedding – they used ceramic sand dollars with the guest names written in gold pen. Let it be
If you prefer that your guests have the freedom to sit anywhere, let them know with a decorative board and a catchy phrase like: “We found each other, now find a seat!”

    Hang in there
Some couples bring cardstock with a list of guests per table that we can hang at the entrance of our reception area. Nicole and Nick went a step further and attached a cute, old-fashioned key to each — it looked classic and lovely!

    Pick your “SEAT!”
For a Wedding in Mexico, a great way to make a reference and get the party started is by greeting your guests with a shot of Tequila while sending them to their seats! The seating cards are perfect to fit on a lime slice and add a little fun to set the mood for your wedding event.

Did you know that in Roman history, the bridesmaids dressed alike and formed a bridal troop to march alongside the bride to the groom’s village?! They protected the bride and intervened if anyone tried to bother the bride or steal her dowry. Times have changed a bit since early Roman history, but your bridesmaids will still surround you and protect you (from anxiety!) on your wedding day! You have probably already picked out the ladies who are closest to you. So now, what are the best gifts you can give them to show your appreciation? How about these trendy ideas:

    1. Monogramed Gift Bags
A great start – the gift bag. Give gift bags for your destination wedding with little goodies that they will need during their beach getaway. Maybe with several miniature things they can keep in their purse that come handy during their trip – like a mini nail file, a Tide Stick, chapstick, sunscreen, a small mirror, flip flops, and necessities like aspirin and band-aids! Make the bag, itself, even more special by adding a monogram of their name.

    2. Silk Robes
On Trend: Your girls are will be there by your side getting ready (almost) all day! A comfortable and stylish way to help them feel special (and look great in photos) is to give them each a silk robe to wear as they prepare for the wedding. Embroider cute messages on the back like: “Maid of Honor”, or “Team Bride”!

    3. A Makeup Bag
We know that nothing is more important when you are away from home than a small bag with life-saving touch-up items like a small lipstick, eyeliner, mascara and more inside to “freshen up” – especially on the wedding day. This is definitely a gift that will come handy for a destination wedding. Pro Tip: Go online and order cute makeup bags from a major cosmetic company with samples of the top selling seasonal items and colors already inside the bag!

    4. Customized Jewelry
Nothing says “everlasting” and “luxury” like a gorgeous bracelet, earrings, or a personalized necklace. If it is in your budget, give a gift of matching jewelry to wear on the wedding day. It’s fun to wear a common detail at the wedding that you can also cherish forever. Customize it with an engraved message or initials!

    5. Pamper Them With a Spa Basket
There are moments in our lives when we simply need to take the time for relaxation and pampering! Encourage some pre-wedding relaxation with a gift of aromatic sea salts, exfoliating creams and a scrubby brush. There are so many options – add in an organic face peel and essential oils and top it off with comfy house slippers (also pairs nicely with the silk robe!). Give this gift at your rehearsal dinner so they can pamper themselves the night before and show up fresh, relaxed and ready for your big day!

Weddings are full of touching and heartfelt times to share with the one you love as well as friends and family. They are especially moving when they involve different cultures and backgrounds. Here are some of the suggestions we have for planning a multi-cultural wedding full of inspirational traditions that will bring together cultures, backgrounds and religions into a party that is sure to be loved by all!

    Celebrate Diversity!
Enjoy this time of planning! Work together to combine traditions in a diverse celebration that will be uniquely yours! Sharing your culture with your partner, understanding together and appreciating the different customs will give you a great start to a long and happy relationship together!

1.Be Daring with a Fashionable Fusion
We hosted a Hindu wedding for a couple and the celebration lasted 3 days!!! We loved the professional henna artwork that the bride and her entire family wore on their hands and feet. In the Hindu culture, it is believed that henna enhances the beauty of the bride – and we definitely agree!

    2.Wedding Party Customs
Bring together traditions from each background for the wedding party. You can add small symbols that represent each culture on the bouquet or the boutonniere. Or have the wedding party arrive in a traditional fashion. In the Hindu wedding, the groom arrived to the wedding with his family and closest friends in an incredible parade that included traditional singing and dancing. The entrance represented the happiness the groom and his family felt toward the new bride.

    3. Blending Ceremonial Traditions
In Jewish weddings, the couple breaks a glass together to be reminded of the fragility of relationships. In the Filipino culture, they include a money dance. At our Hindu favorite, they included a Ganesh Puja ritual for good luck. Ganesh represented the destruction of all obstacles. It may not be feasible to include ALL of the traditions of both the bride’s culture and the groom’s culture – but pick the traditions that will be the most meaningful and respectful to you and your family.
Most of all – have fun while you plan! Check out the images above for more ideas and inspiration!

On Trend: Reciting Your Vows in a Different Language
We have seen this displayed in two ways. One: recite the vows to you beloved in your first language. There’s something so special about saying your vows in the language of your heart and mind. You could also change it up and read the vows to your spouse in his/her language – this version takes a lot more practice!

4 Steps to the Perfect Ceremony Processional

How will you line up your ceremony processional? We’ve created a key for you…

    #1: List the Participants
First, make a detailed list of participants to include. Make sure the people you both feel closest with, are included. Keep in mind: do not over-do it! The idea is to keep the list within the bridal party and a few family members not to bore the rest of the guests with the processional.

    #2: Fiancé Entrance
    Traditional or Non Traditional

The next step is to consider if you want your fiancé to walk down the aisle or to wait for you at the alter. Some grooms prefer to wait for their bride, whereas others want to make an entrance as well — so this is something you definitely want to decide together. Our beach wedding venue gives a casual feel to the ceremony and some couples feel inspired to go outside of the norm — we’ve even had grooms who walked down the aisle to funky music, which created a lot of excitement for their guests!
    #3 Consider Pairs or Singles

Back to a traditional ceremony… if you have the same number of bridesmaids and groomsmen, consider having them walk in pairs. Walking individually does work for smaller processionals, especially if there are no more than 6 people.
    Odd Numbers

If you must have an uneven number, have the extra groomsmen or bridesmaid lead the bridal party, walking alone.

The order is up to you, you could have your Maid of Honor and Best Man walking in first or last just as long the rest of the bridal party knows they will be standing from the outside in, that way you and your fiancée will have them standing right next.
    Children

If you chose to have kids participate in the ceremony, you have a couple of options: If you want each child to have their own moment, you could have the ring bearer walk down the aisle and then the flower girl. Or they could walk together so they can hold hands (this is also a good idea if you have a really young child since, the older one can lead and help to keep the procession going).

TIPS: One of the cutest wedding ideas we’ve seen is when one of the children walking down the aisle holds a sign that reads something like: “Here comes your bride!” Or even a funny phrase like, “Last chance to run!” Which your guests will love and it will also make wonderful pictures!

Or for a wow factor, in our case we have a parrot that can deliver the wedding rings! From our experience this brings a lot of surprise and excitement to the wedding ceremony.
    #4 How will you enter?
And for the big moment: you, the bride, walking down the aisle. You can choose to walk the aisle with your dad or both your parents. If that is not an option consider having any other person dear to you to be holding your hand in such as special moment. Some brides even choose to enter the aisle alone.
Every option is correct and we suggest you to choose the one that makes you feel the most comfortable and happy for your big day!

As wedding coordinators we know that every bride wants to look beautiful and spectacular in her wedding day!! An amazing skin, implacable body and hair!! Well, here you have some recommendations to make this happen.

1.- Salt: Get away from the salty food, salt is the best ally of fluid retention and this will cause swelling and heaviness all day!!!

2.- Carbonated drinks: Soda, mineral water … this kind of drinks will make you feel swollen, not quite what you envision for your wedding day, right?

3.- Foods that cause intestinal gas: AVOID beans, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and green cabbage. We suggest trying water-rich vegetables such as cucumber, celery or asparagus. You are going to feel much better and ready for the big day!!

4.- Alcoholic drinks: We already know that you want to celebrate every moment of this important day!! But we suggest reserving the toast for the big day… Avoid alcohol for a few days before the wedding date; this really helps your skin, in addition to lower calories.

5.- Coffee: We know that coffee really helps to feel with energy throughout the day! However, caffeine can act as an anxiety catalyst and if you add the stress that you already feel about the wedding, it is not such a good idea. One cup of coffee will be great (Just one!! )

Keep in mind this important information; we are sure this really can help to have a successful and spectacular wedding day!!

Color choices are important to make right away so that you can plan everything else around them. Invitations, bridesmaid dresses, bouquets, floral arrangements, cake ribbon, and much more. After you have the colors, all of the other stylistic details will fall into place.

    Take into consideration:
    1. Where is your venue? A tropical beach wedding? A quaint Garden? A large, indoor wedding venue?
    2. What season? Spring trends are great for light, breezy colors whereas the winter lends to bold, deep color statements.
    3. Stand out!!! Break the mold and do something with your wedding that stands out! Don’t be afraid to mix colors and project your originality and personality.

Get really creative with color; the neutral backdrop provided by a beach wedding venue such as Las Caletas, in Puerto Vallarta allow you to add decorations and fabrics that pop in whichever color you decide. The options we offer are spectacular.

Take a look at real examples from our Wedding Photos Gallery so you can get a feel for the look of blush pink at Caletas, or a deep, burnt red, or how about a splashy, bright tangerine orange?! Check out the gallery – we promise: it’s incredible – our brides are unimaginably creative as well as sophisticated!
Good luck with your big choices!
