Elissea I have a few questions for you since your so on top of your planning (and I'm not haha!) Wat does a semi-private cocktail hour entail? I'm getting married at the Riu Mexico and haven't figured out what I plan to do between when the ceremony ends and our private dinner at 8:45. I've also been wondering about dancing and what not after dinner. I guess that may be a questions I need to ask the resort, like are we allowed to bring an ipod and dance at the restaurant Were you given an option of a 7pm dinner because that is what time the second seating is for your restaurant? I was told that we can either have the restaurant for a private dinner at 6:30 or 8:30. What I would prefer is to be able to have the restaurant the from like 7-11ish though haven't even thought to ask if that is a possibility until right now) Thanks so much, your planning has been so helpful and inspiring!!

Love all this inspiration! I hit the 6 month mark this week,

I agree, I have no idea why people tend to wait for the last minute but thankfully we haven't really run into any problems. Our save the dates went out in Sept and we have 13 rooms booked with in a month. Our invites go out mid January, with an RSVP date of Mid February and a final booking date of Mid March (wedding it at the end of June) and we're pretty sure we'll have about 10 -15 more rooms booked (we're hoping for right around 50 people)

Are you set on 2pm on the beach? From what I've seen on here beach weddings are not very private (meaning the resort guests usually are all gawking and 2pm is prime sun bathing time) and 2pm is going to be very hot in June...Just my two cents

Good news! The hotel got back to me and we can have our dinner where we wanted it! Mini-meltdown avoided (for now haha!) Now if they'd only change back the decor and add doors to the jacuzzi/shower areas in the bedrooms we'd be all set.
