Thank Elissa! I actually did email them on Friday night and they put samples of both the blues in the mail to me today so I can compare them. I didn't even think to look through the entire box to see about broken ones, guess I will be doing that today. They're customer service has been very responsive and helpful so far.

We're going the fake flower submerged in water like this but with taller vases and votive candles scattered around. I was pleasantly surprised with how real they look even close up. Looking at the from afar you can't even tell! Our wedding is June 27, 2013. we sent out STD in Sept 2012, our invites went out last week with a RSVP date of 2/15/13 and a please book and place deposit date of 3/15/13. Final payment for the trip is due mid April. We figured that would give us a little leeway to chase down stragglers if needed in the end bc that us not something I want to be doing lastvminute!

As soon as we decided on a destination wedding that was one of the things I've been most excited about with planning. That being said I haven't bought anything for them yet and they won't be crazy expensive but I think a little goes a long way and they are appreciated. All the weddings I've ever been to in the past 10 years have had welcome bags with things like water, snacks, Advil etc and I love them. The waters, advils and snacks come in handy late night and early morning

We worded our information card in our invites similarly to what Allie did. We said that all hotel reservations must be booked through our TA and that if guests choose to stay at a different resort then they may not be able to participate in planned activities with the bride and groom throughout the wedding week and then hotel will also charge you between $80/100 to attend the wedding ceremony. So far we have 26 people booked all at our hotel. Our invitations went out about a week ago and we anticipate about 20-30 more people booking. Hopefully they will all stay at our resort just to make things easier in the end but we decided that paying extra for guests choosing to stay elsewhere was not something we could pay and wanted that to be clear when invites went out. I did think it could be a little tacky to include the info with the invites but knew it was the best way to get the info out there too. Congrats and Happy Planning!

I love etsy, so far I haven't ordered anything yet but do have a lok of things favorited to be bought! Between this site, etsy and Pinterest any wedding nowadays will be stunning and full of fun finds!

Getting married is such a personal decision and one that should entered into for you, not your parents. Like Mandie said, follow your heart. I wish you happiness and congrats on being pregnant!

Elissa, what color are your blue maracas? Mine came yesterday and I had ordered bright blue but for some reason when holding them up to the picture online they look like the light blue ones, although the packing slip says bright blue

We're counting the maracas as favors for guests. I'm trying to figure out how to arrange them as a place setting as well. We may place them stick end up in baskets for each table but I'm still playing around with that. I think I also figured out our centerpieces this week. Tall-ish cylindrical vases filled with water, with stones on bottom and a silk lily with a floating candle on top. Also going to place small votives around it on the table. Simple and inexpensive and the silk flowers look amazingly real when in the water!

Maggie, I'm planning my wedding at the Riu Palace Mexico and would be more then happy to send you the menu choices/pricing that they've sent me regarding beach weddings. I can't be sure that its the same pricing however, Paola works between both hotels so it would at least give you an idea.

We're thinking of giving both of our parents a wedding album, it won't be until after the wedding but we know for sure it's something that they'll love. I also love the frame above from Etsy!
