I wish I could convince my fiance to wear a vest but he gave me a firm NO on that one. He did agree to a tie which is good enough. I'd really like to try to find grey linen pants for the guys; white shirts for them and then a pink/blue tie for my fiance. (the girls are wearing Navy/Pink) I'm gonna look around the internet for grey linen but if anyone has seen them anywhere pass the info along please!

Thanks ladies for the sympathy about the reception. I'm waiting on an answer back from the coordinator about what she suggests for dancing. In her last e,ail she said she could quote me on cocktail and dancing but I don't even know if that would be before or after the dinner. And obviously it's going to cost even more money than the private dinner is already costing us. I just wish they were a little more up front with me about the reception options...I know I'm not the only bride who's unhappy with the Riu Mexico right now. I know it'll all be fine in the end...I actually and really relaxed about the wedding and planning, I was just kinda counting on drinks and dancing. Like my sister said, we may just end up with an iPod and making our own beach party and drinking the all inclusive drinks ( and that's not a bad idea)!

Our invites are out and we have received about half of the RSVPS...put a deadline on them for the end of this month with a booking deadline of the end of March to get people to move on it. Placards/Maraca's are ordered Working on a few different ideas for non-centerpieces but have already confirmed that the hotel's florist has the vases we need for them I started to purchase stuff for the OOT bags, just little things from the dollar store and some meds so far. I'm still on the hunt for the bag itself. I found the *perfect* small tote at the Dollar Tree which shows it in navy blue online but none of the stores around me (in MA or my sister in CA) have the blue. So annoying! Had my first dress fitting...and it still fits!!! Booked our honeymoon resort! I am working with the hotel around what our reception will look at. We're getting married at the Riu Palace Mexico and I am so unhappy with the resort on so many different levels! We were lead to believe that if we have over 50 people we'd be able to have a private dinner at the Steakhouse restaurant which we assumed would be most of the night. Well now I've been told I have to pick a dinner time, either 6:30 or 8:30 (our ceremony is at 5pm) and we can't have the restaurant for longer, We even offered to pay to rent it out for extra hours so we could have dancing but were told no! Going to look for some groom/groomsmen outfits this weekend. I don't think its going to be too hard since it's just my fiance, his brother and my brother. Surpsingly his brother and my brother are the same build so cross your fingers for us that it gets checked off the list this weekend!

I'm planning on using my real gown. Ill be there for another 5 days or so which should give it plenty of time to dry and then I'll have it cleaned when I get home. It'll be the only time I wear it besides my actual wedding day so why not?

Hi Veronic, thank you but we are bringing a photographer with us. A good friend is an award winning wedding photographer and is looking forward to her vacation in the sun with a little work thrown in. Sarani photos are beautiful, keep up the good work! Karen

We're heading to the Bahia for a few days after our wedding to relax away from our guests...amazingly it is almost less expensive for us to add on 4 extra nights in Mexico then it is to fly home on a weekend

I bought ours from Amols and they're definitely authentic. Their customer service was fantastic when we realized they sent us the wrong blue color.

I know this is going to greatly vary but im trying to get a sense of how much money people have spent on the OOT bags and all the goodies that they're filled with? I have roughly 50-60 guests attending (18 rooms booked so far and we're still 5 months out!) and can't imagine spending a lot of money on these but would like to have something small with some Advil, Imodium, propel or Gatorade packets and some snacks in the rooms for guests. And if anyone has some websites to lass along that would be great. I've checked out minimus.biz already but am wondering if there's anywhere else that is inexpensive. Thanks!

Amols is great! I ordered the bright blue though was convinced that they sent me 30 of the light blue color by accident. I emailed them about my concern and they immediately sent me (free of charge) a bright blue and light blue to compare. Well it turns out that they did sent me the wrong color however, even though the two blues look distinctively different online, in person there is barely a noticeable difference. I'm going to just keep the light blue and plan on writing them tomorrow to let me know. Their costumer service has been great thus far.

Can you tell me where you got your bridesmaids feet jewelry and the sandals on your left foot?? I absolutely love your Persian plum color and wish I had picked that instead of fuchsia to go with my navy blue!

We don't have anything formal planned besides the actuall wedding although we will probably include some information about informal welcome drinks at the hotel bar one or two nights. We have guest arriving anytime between Saturday and Wednesday for our Thursday wedding with most people leaving on Saturday and we don't want people to feel pressured to do anything they don't want to do. As much as its a celebration for our wedding its also some of our guests only vacation of the year. That being said, those RSVP cards were a great idea!
