Ugh, so sad, it looks like we will not be able to choose the princess after all .The resort just got back to us and said that the max for the a la carte is 40 ppl, and we have just over 50 that will most likely be there. We can't really afford to do the $85/$100 pp for the private dinner and still get all of the other things we want such as photos, etc. So we are back to square one again, and thinking the GBP is what we will most likely go with. Thanks for your help though... and Congrats Brandie!!! Liz

Hi! I'm pretty new to the forum, and we have been going back and forth about choosing the Princess or the Principe resorts but have finally decided on the Princess! I sent the resort an email with a bunch of questions, so we are just waiting to hear back from them and our travel agent with some quotes before we can officially book our date (will be April 2014) I think we are going to go with the Princes pkg and it looks as though we will prob have 40-50 aprox guests. We are totally fine with having the dinner in an a la carte, but want to have a cocktail type reception after for a couple hours. Any suggestions and/or pics of places to do this? Thanks! Liz

Hi Everyone, this is my first official post as a "Mrs-to-be"!! We had started talking about (and kinda planning, lol!) a DW a few months ago, but Jay actually proposed on Sunday night at my mom and step-dad's place! Now that we are officially engaged, we can really start to get into the planning. We have talked about a few resorts and were leaning towards the Gran Bahia Principe, but after doing a little more research we are now thinking one of the Princess hotels. I'm wondering if anyone has been married at the Princess and/or if anyone has been to both of these resorts that they could provide some input to help us decide. We are meeting with a travel agent either this Sat or next, but I thought I would ask here first since this site and you ladies have been a wealth of info for us so far!

Just wondering if anyone has a review on the Tequila restaurant at Tulum? We are still seriously thinking of this resort for our April 2014 wedding and would really like to keep with the Mexican feel of the destination and have a Mexican meal for our wedding reception. Do you think that the menu at Tequila is too simple for a wedding? Also, is it fairly nice looking inside this restaurant? Thanks!

We are also doing the legal thing in Canada before we leave for Mexico. Neither of us wants to deal with the hassle or extra costs. We've only told my mom & step-dad, and that will probably be it!

Hi! I am new to this forum, and this is my first post! Wow... what an awesome place for info!! My fiance and I are looking at booking this resort for our wedding Feb 2014 and I have been reading all the posts to get an idea of costs and which of the 3 resorts we should book. I was wondering if anyone has an updated list of the extra costs for flowers, etc that they could email me? Also, i saw the official post re: package prices for 2011/2012, but just wondering if there is a maximum number of people for each, or just a minimum? On the Bahia website, the package prices say, for example "Remember pkg: From $600 minimum 20 guests". Does that mean that I have to pay extra for each guest over the 20?
