  1. Hi Minley16, welcome to the forum and congrats!! We are planning a DW for the same reason that if we had it at home it would be a huge gongshow! To give you an idea, FI cousin's wedding had over 700 ppl at it! No thanks!! lol I think thats a huge reason why a lot of ppl choose to go the DW route, so I don';t think its awful at all. I think that you still probably have time, but I would really suggest you find a travel agent. The other thing to consider is, are the ppl that you do want there going to be able to afford to come with only 6mths notice? Other than that I think that you may not be able to be overly picky about the exacxt date but I would think that your TA should be able to find you a nice resort around the time you're looking. Also, for buget, 10-15K is very reasonable. We are estimating around 12K right now, and that includes our extra week for our honeymoon, my dress, rings, etc. Best of luck with planning!! Liz
  2. Thank you soooooo much for the info!!! $500 is not too bad at all. We will check her out! Thanks again, Liz
  3. Congrats on finding your dress! That's so exciting!! Liz
  4. When you say that that the rates for Feb 2014 are up, do you mean that they can give you tentative quotes? Because I am in Canada too and my TA said that while we have a tentative quote for Jan 2014 (meaning the price won't be any higher than what she is quoting us now), the actual pricing doesn't come out until around June. Which vacation company are you booking through? We are getting married at the Grand Bahia Principe resort. Our tentative quotes are around $1700pp, incl flight, transfers, and rooms for 1wk. The GBP wedding packages are reasonably priced and its on a nice stretch of beach with both white sand and good coral area for snorkling (from what we are told). It might be worth looking into Happy planning!!! Liz
  5. I I agree... I always order from the US site because its the site with the free offers (Canada site never has free offers)and the shipping is the same!
  6. Awesome, thanks! I was looking for another one of these as I still have a few more items to buy from them!
  7. Those are both really beautiful! I love the floral lace applique design of the 8800... its just stunning! There's something so classic and romantic about lace that Ii just love!
  8. They are both absolutely STUNNING dresses Sara!! Which one did you choose?? Or did you wear both?
  9. The travel inserts, invites, return mailing labels, RSVP's and the QR code cards were all ordered from Vistaprint. I used a floral template design for the invites and the RSVP's, and I added my own wording, etc. The travel inserts were just the beach background and we added the wording. And the QR code cards were blank biz cards.
  10. I just changed the email address to a hotmail one, but i guess you figured it out now. Its weird how that happens. I'm glad you got it all worked out!
  11. Here's our invites! They are DIY/vistaprint with paper and envelopes ordered through envelopes.com. Hopefully they will be going in the mail this week!
  12. Hey everyone! We finished our invitations last night, and I thought I would post them to share! We are just waiting for our personalized stamps to arrive and then they will be going in the mail. eeeek, so excited!!! This is a travel insert with just some basic general info about the resort and Mexico for those that haven't been. We put a lot more detailed info on our website. This is our RSVP postcard. This is a pic of the invite with the background, pocket-fold, and belly band. This is all the components together, except for the QR code cards Here are our QR code cards. FI is in IT and he wanted to add this, i though ti t was a great idea:). The code links to our wedding website when you scan it with your smartphone. Here's the finished invite. We also put a small business sized card in that our TA gave us with all her contact info and the resort name and date. And here is the finished invite with the belly band on it. This is the back of the envelope with our envelope seals And, here is the finished envelope with mailing labels. The travel inserts, RSVP's, invitations, return mailing labels and QR code cards were all ordered through Vistaprint. I designed everything myself but I used their floral pattern template. Including a Groupon I purchased and use of free links, all our Vistaprint stuff came to around $48. The pocketfolds, envelopes and green colored paper were all ordered from envelopes.com. I was contemplating making the pocketfolds from cardstock, but with being in school full-time and working part-time, I thought that it might take too long. For 60 pocket folds, 100 sheets of paper, and 100 envelopes it cost us around $80. The mailing labels I made myself using Word and just printed them on full sheet sticker paper and cut them out. The belly bands were made by myself in Word and printed on regular printer paper. All in all for 60 invites (and lots of leftover supplies) we spent around $140. Liz
