  1. Ok so I asked....Ana said that they can print them up but they would be on normal paper. I will just play it safe and order them from vista print
  2. Hi, My wedding is may 10, 2013 so it's fast approaching! Just trying to wrap up some final details. This maybe a stupid question but is the bride responsible for printing up the dinner cards ( which are placed on each plate during reception) or does the resort do this? Just trying to order all the stationary I will need now
  3. Hi, yes I have to take photos of the save the dates...people loved it!! Even men commented on them..lol I will have to post pics soon In regards to guests...you really can't stress about that. I have to admit I do stress out over it (not going to lie)then I just think about how amazing the day will be and since my closets family will be their ..I'm ok with others not being their. A lot of people told me it was too expensive and they just cant afford it at the time. We are in a terrible Economy , so I can't blame anyone...I do see how you feel, you just have to not let it get to you. Im sort of happy that no one is on this forum..lol only bc if their were a ton of brides the resort will turn into a wedding factor ( like most all inclusive hotels) . In regards to salon prices..they are not that bad..I remember hair and makeup were about 75 each?? I could be wrong..brides are def more. Not going to lie..hair and makeup is def something I am still worried about...what can you do

Sorry ladies I have been MIA....just been crazy busy with work...I am catching up to previous posts and read the one about that sign...that is def new b.c it was not their about 2 months ago...I am going back out in November and will ask the planner about this.. Also I would think you def need the runner bc the closer the deck is to the sand , the more washed out the deck looks.... I actually sent out my save the dates last month..now I just have to sit back and hope people book soon...how is everyone else doing with guest responses/ bookings?
  5. They allow you to have kids at the gabi club .... In regards to the tailor made package...it just depends on how many people you have attending. We have over 55 so we wanted to host a welcome party...going with the tailor made just made sense since a welcome BBQ party is included in it
  6. My save the dates just went out so not sure how many people will be coming yet but we expect a min of 60 people. Their are a lot of things you must pay outside of tailor package such as photography, decor and design, and DJ.
  7. Sorry ladies I have not been on here lately....took forever but I'm officially done with my save the dates!! I really hope people book their rooms quickly bc the resort doesn't block rooms for a long period.... In regards to the fee associated with The gabi club, It's depends on if you have the aqua package or tailor package. You get charged either way, but believe aqua package is more ...make sens since you are already paying 12 k for the tailor package

  10. Hi, In regards to the beach- I actually was thinking of having the welcome BBQ on the beach ( I have about 60-80 people coming). With tables and chairs and buffets stand , It thought it might be too narrow- Im still thinking about this. Dont get me wrong its a large beach area, and you can def host the ceremoney on the beach. In december they are hosting a 450 person ceromoney on the Beach (yes I repeat 450)...so dont worry you are ok to have the ceromoney. I heard the same thing about the photographer needing to stay a 3 night min- I decided to just go with Blue lens. In regards to the rates- yes they have gone up. I had my travel agent blook rooms at the group rate last week so we are good to go..I am getting married in May which is different prices than Feb- The DJ we are worrking with is J&S Productions- seems pretty good. Let me point out that the music (even in the lobby areas) is all in english. They have a team set up to control music in the entire resort, from the lounges to the lobby areas. The hotel prides itself with the music as they want to come off very modern Nyc chic- The resort does an incredible job with music- Even the DJ at the gabi club was awesome. I am from NJ so we are super picky about music. I dont think they would work with a DJ that isnt top notch.
  11. Congrats to the Brides that have recently booked!!!!!! Apparantly the pics i took on my IPAD are useless b/c I am having trouble emailing them out to everyone...sorry ladies....I am now getting ready to send my save the dates out- does anyone know what information we need to include in them? I am going to include my travel agents info but was thinking of including prices as well (since thats everyones question)- what do you guys think?
  12. I'm back! Yea weather sucked the last 2 days I was their ...bummer! In regards to DJ...I am booking the DJ that the hotel works with ,they seem pretty good and have done many weddings in the past so not to worried about this, I'm going to put together a song list for the DJ so I can't see this being an issue. In regards to hair and make up ...I met with the salon manager and her team seemed to be pretty good. They have done many weddings in the past and she assured me that I am in good hands. I am actually going to do trial hair with my veil and trial make up a couple of days before the wedding with her team so I don't have any issues on my wedding day. I have to pay for both trials but I would rather do that then take the chance. In regards to photos...Think I'm going to choose the package that is slightly higher then royal..bc you get unlimited hours. The royal only inlcudes 5 hours, but I want them to take pictures before the wedding and after. It just make more sense with me rather than pay for each extra hour ($350) it also comes with 2 small digital albums for the parents which I know they will love. I really can't imagine them charging you for the cake topper???? That would be crazy. How th heck do you attach photos? I am trying to copy and paste a few photos but not working so iSight have to email them to you ladies Let me know of you need anything else Ps..I just realized we are all may brides...really hope we get good weather! Btw if you are looking to get married under their gazebo( believe this is called the palapa) reception only fits about 50. She said they had a wedding of 60 and it was a bit tight
  13. It's official We booked the wedding may 10 2013... Yay! Chose to get married on the boardwalk and reception at the gabi club..welcome dinner will be hosted at the poolside ...really wanted the beach for welcome dinner but seemed to narrow to accommodate all guests. I'm actually still here at the resort and it's amazing!!!!! Wedding planner Ana is absolutely wonderful...sheis actually one of the main reasons why I chose the resort..she just makes you feel at ease.. She has done this for years and knows basically everything! She is so sweet! Ps..It's $3 per room to place welcome bages and they do not shut down restaurants for private events...if you need to make reservations for a group of 20 or more you just need to tell them ahead of time ( 2 weeks before wedding ) I am working with perla for design..very nice and experienced. Also decided to work with blue lens..they seemed great and it's just more convenient with them already on premises... At this point we are just trying to negotiate prices....I will post pics when I get back!!!!

I actually am pretty bummed since every weekend is reserved for the month of march April and may?.so if I do decide to get married here it will have to be end of June or July...Imy site inspection is set up for the 7th with Gabrielle....so we we will see I guess. Ps...did you ladies have to guarantee 100 people for the reception? What is everyone doing for hair aNd makeup....the hotel I am looking at offers hair and makeup but not sure if I want to take the risk

  18. I was under the impression that we had to guarantee 100 people at the isla ...80 works so much better so I am hoping you are right! In regards to price I agree with you...it costs the same their as it would in the US.I love the Guadalupe church as well as the isla..just so different
  19. So strange...their are not many on brides that are getting married at the xcaret on this website.....but when I called to reserve a date for May or April they were all booked!!!! Assuming this is a very popular venue among the locals.Just crazy..I go out for a site inspection in 1 week..excited but hope they have some type of availability ..... For the brides that are getting married here where are your guests staying?

  21. HI, I am actually flying out to Mexico in August to do a site visit of the xcaret- I fell in love once I saw all of the pics. Its impossible to get in touch with anyone at the xcaret. Any additional info anyone has would be great (if you can email it to [email protected]). I realize this will cost alot more money than any other venue but after seeing the pics it looks well worth it. Also, where are your guests staying? If I choose to have the wedding at the xcaret, I need to choose a resort nearby. I am visting the Paradisus playa del carmen as well since it seems close to the park. I would love any additional info as for some reason, I cant find many brides that are getting married here, so any help will be greatly appreciated.
