Julia28 replied to kmbowm's topic in Jamaica Accommodations & Site
Hi All, I haven't been on in a few months. My wedding is July 10, 2014 at the suites Are Nicole and Tiffany still the wedding coordinators at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites? I keep reading about Loretto. Please let me know and happy planning!! -
Hello Ladies, Can those of you who live in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (Vaughan, Brampton, Mississauga areas) please tell me where you bought your destination wedding dresses or plan on buying it? I want to go somewhere where the sales people are not pushy, the prices are in the under $2000 range and obviously want the store to have destination wedding appropriate dresses Thanks for the tips. Hey Kassi, I am hoping to be able to have a Catholic priest be able to do the wedding in Jamaica. I know I may have to get married here and do the renewal on the beach but I would rather not do that. I ruins the Jamaican ceremony for me a little. I want one ceremony and I want it to be the real deal lol Nicole or Tiffany hasnt responded to me yet about the Catholic priest coming to Iberostar so well see!!!!!! Thanks Kassi!! Julia

Hello all, Just curious if any of you brides out there were able to have a priest come to the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites resort to perform your Catholic wedding ceremony? I emailed Nicole and Tiffany but thought I would try to see if anyone here had success with this. If you did do this, how much extra was it and did you have to bring some paperwork from your own church to prove you did marriage classes and that your parish approves? I have read different things: some websites say Catholic priests do not come to resorts and will only marry you in a church in Montego Bay, other says the the Rose Hall resorts and Sandals resorts have had Catholic priests do it. Just curious....thanks a lot for the information Julia

Getting Married in Jamaica: Catholic Canadian question
Julia28 replied to Julia28's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Hey Brides, Not sure the answer to this question so I thought I would post it..... I need to know the answer to this question from someone that is a Catholic Canadian bride getting married or already married in Jamaica please Can you tell me, did you have a Catholic priest marry you (or are you getting one from Jamaica)? Did you tell the hotel you wanted a Catholic priest to perform the ceremony? Did you do marriage classes in the church back in Canada before heading to Jamaica and did your parish provide documentation to give to the Catholic priest? I just want to know that this ceremony and marriage is recognized in the church once I get back home? Thanks for all your input !! I absolutely appreciate it ... Julia -

Hello all, My wedding is still a year and a half out but I wanted to ask all of you out there about your thoughts. Have most of you out there got yourself a travel agent? Or..... what do you think of the idea of booking directly through the actual travel company using their group rate of course (i.e. AIR CANADA VACATIONS, SUNWING, WESTJET, AIR TRANSAT). Just curious if any of you desination brides have just gone directly through a reservation agent at the actual travel company. Is this even allowed? lol After reading some posts, I feel like going through a third party, things tend to get lost in translation (for example, many brides were not told by there travel agents that they are able to get a trip for free after a certain number of people booked). Anyway, thanks for the suggestions in advance Julia

Ok so I have read all 563 pages of this thread lol...took a couple days but I think I am all caught up!! I am getting married at the IBEROSTAR ROSE HALL SUITES RESORT in 2014. I will probably be having 60-80 people attending and we are all coming from Toronto Ontario. I am in the very beginning stages of my wedding planning. In fact, I have tried booking my wedding date for a couple of weeks now but after two emails and even speaking directly to Tiffany, I have yet to book my date. I sent over my request form with credit card and id and I know the date is available because I spoke to Tiffany (she said she will send me the contract to sign but has not). Just wondering if any of you out there would be willing to send over the actual contract that they want you to print, sign and scan back to them? [email protected] incase you do have one I would be forever greatful because maybe it would mean that I can breathe easy for a year knowing I actually have my wedding date. Last question: Those of you in Toronto, please let me know if have a travel agent you are very happy with. Flight Centre and Itravel2000 dont seem to get good feedback from what I have read over the past few days. I am super excited to hear all about the weddings that happened in Decemeber...looking forward to hearing from all of you beautiful brides !! Thanks a bunch Julia
