  1. I set mine up via weddingwire.com and then bought a domain name from godaddy.com and linked them.

Everyone will understand that you are out of country and planning can only go so far! Good luck! Thanks. Trying to tell myself that no one else is even going to notice what kind of wine we're serving.
  3. Guys? Can someone please talk me down? I am leaving in 11 days, getting married in 17 days, and we still haven't picked wines. Well, yes we have, but the ones we picked are no longer available. We couldn't find them in NYC (first sign that there is a problem is when you can't find a freaking bottle of wine in NY), so I called a wine store in Houston, where my in laws live, and asked if they could get it shipped in and at least my in laws could try it and let us know it was ok. So that's what they did, they tried it, said it was great. I tell the catering person it's what we want and she says the wines are no longer available. So now in addition to wasting our time and money, we have no wine selection, and there is only ONE she suggested that's at the same price level. The rest are starting at $8 more per bottle than what we chose, and I think that's unfair. Especially since we were already going to be paying $40/bottle! ANGER. Trying not to go all bridezilla on her but pretty pissed off.
  4. I got my boudoir pics back! Gotta work on getting my little black book together now!
  5. I was really on the fence about using a planner, and it has turned out to be the best money I've spent on this entire thing. I think a lot of the hotel planners are pretty slow to respond to you (unless it's a couple of weeks before your wedding), and as someone else said, if you're having the reception offsite they wouldn't help with that. I'm working with Juliette from Five Star Events and I'd recommend her a thousand times over.
  6. I think that's a great plan. Our guest list was such that people organizing themselves would mean no one staying in the condos other than family, so it wouldn't have worked for us, but if it does for you then awesome!
  7. This is something I suggest you think carefully about. I probably wouldn't ask guests though - if you are early on in the planning process some of the best advice I can give is not to ask for too many opinions! You will drive yourself nuts. I really wanted everyone at the Caribbean Club, because I feel like you lose a lot of the togetherness at a bigger resort-style hotel, and I really want everyone to be able to mingle. We have a handful of guests who have chosen to stay elsewhere, which is totally fine with me, but most people wanted to be on the property (both our wedding and reception will be there, as well as Sunday brunch). We have a lot of people who don't know anyone, and we were still able to work it out. HOWEVER, and this is a big however - it was a lot of work trying to get people sorted into rooms, given their different arrival and departure dates and the 3 night minimum. I'm not sorry we did it, and I'm super excited about everyone getting to know one another. But just know that it takes some organizing! Good luck!
  8. Can we just go ahead and agree that this is in the top 5 most annoying things about wedding planning? I think it's universal. My FI is always like "don't worry, we'll get it done!" Haha. Even though he has NO IDEA what needs to be done.
  9. Thanks guys! Someone else told me they were happy with Shutterfly too, so I think I will go that route! Your input is much appreciated!
  10. I'm going to try to convince him that John Legend's Stay With You is a good compromise. We shall see.
  11. FI and I are having an impossible time agreeing on a first dance song. Let me explain. I had to tell him why Adele's Someone Like You isn't an appropriate choice. Haha. Or Take a look at me now. I just don't think he listens to the lyrics. I mean clearly he doesn't. Lol. I want someone old and classic, and he wants something new-sh (like doesn't have to be last 5 years but from our lifetimes or something?) THAT HE ALREADY KNOWS. It's really important to me that whatever we choose is still relevant in a few years so it's hard. I suggested 'you are the best thing' as a compromise but he doesn't like it. Any suggestions?
  12. don't downward spiral! it's what i do but it isn't productive. deep breaths! do you have a weddingwire.com account? they have a pretty great checklist! i have a spreadsheet with a to do list but it wouldn't make sense to you...it says things like "basket" "snacks" "pretravel". Ha. shorthand.
  13. I love how the closer it gets, the more f it moments I have. Seriously, I wish I had adopted that attitude a LONG TIME ago. Haha.
  14. AWESOME, great to know - thank you!! Which book did you get - like which cover and what size? Thanks for the info!! I'm thinking I'll go with the 8x8 and leather hard cover. Not exactly the kind of thing that'll be going on the coffee table. Lol.
  15. We did Williams-Sonoma and Crate and Barrel. Had a good time both places! We also started one at Macy's, but honestly our experience there was super annoying and we haven't advertised the registry (like it's not on our website or anything). Granted we live in NYC, and the Herald Square store is a zoo. But our consultant was annoying, we didn't find anything we liked, and it was just not fun.
  16. Whoa awesome find! I already bought shout wipes but I really wish I hadn't so I could hunt for these for much cheaper!
  17. Has anyone done a boudoir shoot and made their own book? I posted a separate thread but wanted to see if you guys have any opinions. I need to make the book myself (photographer is way too expensive and would take too long if I ordered from her), but am not sure if I should use mixbook, shutterfly, snapfish, etc. Any experience or recommendations? I'll need to pay for rush shipping too, so need to know if any of these are really slow to process. THANKS!
  18. Fingers crossed! I've actually never done stingray city but I love cayman and am getting so excited about the trip!
  19. Just wondering if I should use picaboo, snapfish, shutterfly, mixbook, etc. Anyone have a great experience or a not-so-great one they're willing to share? Important to note is that I'll need really fast processing and shipping (I'll pay for overnight), since my shoot is only a couple weeks before our wedding, so if you ordered one that took forever to process please say that, too! Thanks!
