    I only have one foot done so far, but here it is! I wanted it to match the pearl and gold necklace I'll be wearing (which FI's mom made me. it has a simlar gold loop thing).

    Thank you! Actually that is a drink umbrella! I poked a hole in the cardstock and then stuck one of those through, then taped it in the back. So the umbrella part is 3D. (And on that note, warning, if anyone else makes something like this, it's .90 to mail because the umbrella sticks out.) Does that make sense? You may be able to see what I mean if you look closely.

    Forgive the mess in the background - too many projects going at once! I had vistaprint print these, but the rest I did on my own. I know the don't say save the date anywhere, but our return address labels do, and FI really wanted me to preserve the skyline in the background instead of covering it up with words. I let him win that one.

    Thank you! It honestly isn't hard - just takes time. And you do need a sewing machine. If not for my friend, I'd never be brave enough to do it myself!

    I started this over on the OOT thread but it's definitely a DIY too! I couldn't find any beach bags I liked at the right price, so my friend and I are sewing them ourselves. We got the first one done last night, and I love the way it turned out. It's going to end up being about $4.50-$5 per bag (plus the endless hours of labor, but no one is paying us for that!). I put a magazine and water bottle in it to test it out, so that's what you can sort of see through the bag.
