Hailey and Rhett Tanner, culinary graduates of Johnson & Wales, met in 2001 while working at Blossom Cafe in downtown Charleston, SC. They parted ways briefly to study various types of cuisine after working at Blossom and eventually started Charleston’s first ‘sushi bar on wheels’, Sushi by Rhett, in 2009. In 2012, the Two Cook Duo quickly decided it was best to start their first restaurant and full service catering company, Savory Sushi and Catering. After closing down Savory in 2011, Rhett and Hailey decided to specialize in lowcountry cuisine and sushi and use the name of Holy City Catering to label their culinary works. As a full service catering company, Holy City Catering will handle all food, rentals and even bar services if needed. For people interested in rolling their own sushi, Holy City Catering will schedule a Sushi 101 class at your location. They offer private chef services for Charleston locals and vacationers to give people the chance to experience a single memorable dinner or the a whole week of delicious cuisine.
