  1. I'm stressing over picking a resort for our wedding! My fiance wants adults-only so that limits our choices. We also want someplace reasonably priced b/c some of our guests that want to attend are financially strapped.  I had looked at Secrets, Ed Dorado, Iberostar and The Valentin and Royal Playa del Carmen seem to me the most cost-friendly.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these?  I know the Valentin is available for my date (June 2013) and I am waiting to hear back from Royal. One thing I don't like about Valentin is they require a $1,000 non-refundable deposit, which I think is high.  But the reviews I've read are great.  I also want a place that isn't going to be couples only and is going to have some social life as some of my friends are single.

I appreciate any help, I feel so overwhelmed!! Other suggestions are welcome! How did you go about choosing YOUR resort?  did you work with a travel agent? Thank you!!! my wedding date is June 24, 2013 :-)

  2. Hey girls! I am newly engaged girl trying to plan a destination wedding for June 2013. We want to do adults-only and were originally really interested in Secrets but then I came across this resort and it seems equally as nice and much more reasonably priced. Can anyone confirm?  Also, does anyone know if this resort includes any water activities, evening entertainment, etc? I didn't really see anything on the website.  Thanks!! I am still between this and Secrets Silversands or Secrets Capri.  Such a touch decision. I have been in touch with Ana and she did inform me the date I requested is available..If I go with this resort, I plan to do the Love package.

  3. Was married at the Grand Sirenis this past April and couldn't have asked for anything more.  I had previously stayed at the Grand Sirenis in 2008 and enjoyed it then but we picked the GS mainly because of the price for our guests and the fact that they have a private ceremony location and reception area.  All staff went out of their way to make sure everyone in our group had a great time.  The resort is big but easy to get around once you figure out the shortcuts.  We were a group of 35 and about half of us are regular travellers.  My father who travels at least twice a year and is pretty picky was really impressed with the food, saying it was the best that he has had in Mexico.  My aunt who is a travel agent and usually travels 3 times a year was blown away with how great the service was.  I have also stayed at these other resorts in the RM area so don't hesitate if you have any other questiions: Do you recall the pricing of the wedding packages? I didn't see it on the website. Gran Bahia Coba Ocean Turquesa Grand Xcaret Grand Sunset Princess
  4. My fiance prefers an adults-only but I think would consider another resort if it were what I wanted :). We were looking at Secrets but it seems a little pricey and I don't want to make it too expensive for guests. Anyone that has gotten married in Mexico, please let me know what resort and your thoughts.  Thank you so much, I am overwhelmed!
