mail in your COMPLAINTS!! Be non stop with them and talk about how you'll never book with Sunwing again. You likely can't get anything for this trip but you'll probably get a nice credit towards your next pkg.

www.cbiusa.com That's the warehouse i use. Same thing...they charge $5/pkg. It's great! No customs/brokerage fees to pay.

Oriental Trading has something like a 10pk of natural colour parasols for $30. Check their website. I got my parasols from Justartifacts.com. They're an american co. If you're in Ontario, you can have them shipped to a warehouse in buffalo and then pick up yourself. I can let you know the warehouse name later. But that's what I did...ordered A LOT of stuff online from the USA and will pickup at the border. Cheaper and easier and I always love an excuse to do some buffalo shopping.

LOL@ friends looking like they're up to no good. That's funny! So I went to JA at xmas with two suitcases full of decor/wedding stuff and left it there with fam. One of my friends told me to dress like a diva and make them think that I'm the type of girl who travels with 4 outfits per day, LOL. I went in my track pants and opted for the comfy look. Going thru customs they asked me what was in all my luggage...I said my clothes. Then they asked if I was bringing gifts as it was xmas. I just smiled at her and said "no...shameful right?" and kinda laughed it off. At that moment I wasn't in the mood to talk about a May wedding so I kept it simple and they didn't ask anything else of me and I walked through. But in May when I go, I will prob just say that I'm getting married and brought some decor items that I will be taking back home with me after the wedding. I've heard that isn't ever an issue. I think the issue is only if they think you are going to sell your items to make a profit.

Show us your wedding dress!
JA2012 replied to Jennifer's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I'd do a pretty but not huge teardrop diamond earring, a simple necklace with a small stone. And silver/blinged out shoes whether they are heels or flats. I feel like diamonds go best with this style dress as it's princessy kinda. You could also do a big funky necklace to make it more fun. With colour or stones but I'm thinking big, like a bib necklace that lays flat across your collar bone. that would look nice. But everything also depends on your hair. Dress is beautiful!! Pics of my BEAUTIFUL real touch flowers!
JA2012 replied to AlexsBride's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Can someone please let me know the name of the vendor for these real touch flowers? I know this is an older thread but hoping someone reads it and can pass the info along. Thanks -
This is the shoes that I had bought for my ceremony as I thought it would be easy to walk on the grass with a cute wedge. They were on sale at Aldo for $30 or so...still available online if anyone needs a pr. and they also come in nude and other colours such as blue, black etc. I think now I'm just going to wear flats though. These are pretty high. They're comfy (I've actually worn them out since I got them to test them) but I feel like I'd rather a flat now. And heels for reception.

I don't know why I didn't think of this. I swear by the Miraculous bra...I have 4 of em. It's the only thing that "helps" me. But I never thought to have it sewn into my dress. I'm going to get the strapless one this week. Thankfully it's on sale. @PuntaBride...I found the Nu Bra at La Vie en Rose. It's $50 and I have a gift card for $25 off so I can get it at half price which is amazing. It's non refundable for obvious reasons but I think I need to try it with my dress so I'm going to gather the best of the best options I can find and bring them all to my fitting. Thank you ladies SO MUCH! I will let you know how it goes. :-)

Thank you ladies for all your bra suggestions. I'm goig to look into everything mentioned, starting with Nu Bra and Nordstroms online and working down from there. @dazeydawl my favors are kinda all over the place. Not quite sure what my theme is at this point but so far I have a few little things i.e.: Mini rum bottle with name and seat number, a CD of our fave reggae love songs, bubbles at the ceremony and I haven't fully decided but will probably do a cake box of JA rum cake for guests to take home. After being on this site I feel slightly bad for not doing a OOT bag but I can't be bothered. It's an expense I can't afford right now :-(

Nope...I'm the total opposite. I NEED a bra cuz I'll need the extra padding and lift so that I don't look like a 10 yr old boy. I WANT CLEAVAGE dammit!! lol
-
You should consider the pant/vest combo from studio suits. It's like $89 and custom made in linen. Better than renting.
-
You could give the guys a bottle of JA rum (appleton) or you can put something like Dominoes, a flask (seen em at dollarama today), shot glasses, sunglasses, mini deodorant or aftershave.

In Toronto, where I am, there's just the typical La senza, Vic Secrets and La Vie en Rose. I've been to them all. I'm considering these self adhesive backless pushup bra things now that are similar to those cutlets but also come in fabric. They're $60 and if it doesn't work I'll just take a trip to Buffalo and try to find something there.
-
Does anyone have a suggestion for a low back strapless pushup bra that will work with a wedding dress? HELP!!

Teambuy and groupon alwasy have great deals on lash extensions. I'm considering trying that. I tried the lash growing serum. The one I used was called Lashem. Save your money! It didn't do a darn thing for me. LOL. Or my sister. When I was doing my nails the other day I was shocked at the amount of women who were getting the lash ext done. It seems very popular now. Some had them done nicely...and some looked way too over the top.

The bbq buffet sounds good. I'd get queasy if i had to look at a pig being carved before eating it.
-
If you or your guests are of caribbean descent or even if you're not but enjoy different foods, def go with a west indian buffet - rice& peas, jerk chicken, fried plantain, etc. SO GOOD!! But if some guests aren't so experimental then mix it up...do bbq chicken, pumpkin rice, veggies etc. You can't really go wrong with food in JA. What were the options you were given??

Show off your shoes....
JA2012 replied to twinkletoes's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Check online at Neiman Marcus. Or since you're in the GTA, you can probably get them at Holt Renfrew, or Davids shoe store (Yorkdale, Bayview Village Mall). -
Welcome back Sjay!!! Congrats!! Hope your day was all you hoped for!! Can't wait to get the details :-)

I WANT THIS RING!!! Lol...beautiful!! So my ring is similar in style to yours. I feel like my hands are HUGE and that my e-ring band looks too dainty for my hands. Of course, i'm also just used to wearing huge costume jewellery that is over the top and the only person who'd have an e-ring like that would be Kim Kardashian and Beyonce. One of my friends told me to do this but I never actually looked into it. Seeing it, I love it! But, at times I also may just want to wear my band so this could pose a problem for me. I play alot of sports and may injure myself or others if I were to wear this. Regardless...it's a beauty! I've just been inspired

Re tipping, I agree...if you booked them on your own, they gave you a rate and to me that's the rate you pay. If however the hotel booked them for you, they are taking a fee and the amount you agreed upon is not the amount your band or vendor is getting. In that case I always say to tip. 20% seems like a good amount. But in truth, when you're thanking someone for great service they will probably be happy with whatever you give them and aren't really expecting anything anyways. When in doubt, tip as you'd do at home.

What did you use your engagement photos for??
JA2012 replied to Mufin1785's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I didn't do E-photos but if I had I would have used them as part of decor for my outdoor destination wedding. They'd look cute in little frames hanging with different photos on the chairs that line the aisle. Even every other chair. Get the frames and ribbon to hang in colours that match your decor. Ie: Silver frames with fuschia ribbon if those were your colours. -
Ok thanks ladies. Funny, I don't know about never taking it off.LOL. But I do like the "close to your heart bit". Makes it very meaningful. That's really sweet.
-
Thanks! For some reason I thought the e-ring was the one to stay on first since you get it first, but I guess that makes sense. Wedding band is of most importance.

Question: Have you ladies heard that before the ceremony you're supposed to switch your engagement ring to the other hand? Why is this? Can't the ring just go on after the engagement ring? so confused...
