Ladies I highly reccommend you just bring the extra luggage. If you have a few guests going down, give them ea a suitcase. It will cost you approx $25 for every extra suitcase filled with 50lbs. Pack it in such a way that you can put the cases inside ea other on the return trip. The mail in JA is nuts. I've been to JA about 5x since I've been planning my wedding and bring 2 cases with me ea time. Customs has never once asked me what on earth I'm doing there with all that luggage nor asked to see what's inside it. Actually once they did ask what's in the cases and I said I'm planning a wedding. Lol. They said congrats and I skated through. Shipping heavy items will cost you a pretty penny. That's my two cents. I totally agree. The food and venue could suck but nobody will even remember that if your after party rocks. haha!

The three quotes I got came from Elite Media Concepts, Kevan Stewart, and a local club dj, which is who I believe we're going to end up using. All charged the same price so I assume that's the going rate. Elite and Kevan have websites - just google them as I can't recall off hand what they are. On a sidenote, I have been to a JA wedding where ELite was the DJ and it was great!! They played every type of music, genre, era etc and did mashups, & mixes. Felt like a MuchMusic VIdeo dance party lol.

I don't think it matters who throws it. Your bridesmaid can co- host with your mom and be there to help set up and take down and organize any games, speeches etc. Most of the showers I've been to have been a combined effort of BM, family and friends so that everything doesn't fall on just one person. I didn't want a shower but I found that ppl actually expect you to have one and look fwd to a reason to get together before the wedding.

If he's not doing anything then $800 sounds like a lot!! PLUS A TIP??? They're crazy! I thought he was the DJ. lol...sorry

I've been quoted $250/hr for DJ services. BUT that includes speakers, PA and mic. And the dj of course. And my wedding is in JA. Hope that helps

I recently bought FI a really nice leather wallet from coach and he wasn't as impressed with it as I was. He asked me if they had any money clips. He's sick of wearing a bulky wallet. And oddly enough, I had looked at some beautiful leather money clips there as well but thought for sure he wouldn't want that. So there's a thought. Or maybe make him a gift set of his fave things...alcohol, $ clip, the flask and some candy or something. Or even a gift card to his barber for a facial and haircut. That's a tough one...i don't envy you.

What's the rule on engangement ring and wedding band height? Should they ideally match in height? My e-ring is such an awkward shape that I may have to custom a band to fit because NOTHING in the stores matches it perfectly. The only bands i've tried and liked with it are the diamond bands all around. BUT...my e-ring is set so high that all the bands look low. Don't know if that is weird or if any of you have heard any guidelines on where they should lay together?? Thoughts?

Since your wedding is in Ocho Rios you should go with one in that neck of the woods or you'll get charged more for delivery.

Hi & Welcome! Depending on your budget there are alot of great places in Negril. I know some of them off by heart because I've researched them all for my own wedding. LOL! Moondance Cliffs is gorgeous! But on the higher end. Negril Escape is cute and has a tropical feel. Rockhouse is good for you because I believe the max guests was something like 50 And Tensing Pen is another good one. There's also the typical hotel weddings like Riu in Negril. My shoe is very similar to your 2nd one. It's the same brand, colour and style except that it has a strap that buckles across the ankle to keep your foot in. Not sure if you've seen it but I like the idea of a strap to avoid slipping out of the shoe. Especially when walking on sand or grass. I vote for number 1 just for the security of it.

Another thought...maybe they could switch out the bulbs in all of the lighting fixtures for a colour to match your theme?? That's not a lot of work. and if need be you could even bring the bulbs in your luggage or carry on.

What is the name of this restaurant?? I feel like I ate there...more than once because I enjoyed the food. Does it have an area that is up high overlooking the strip? It's in Playa Del Carmen? Look on Party Packagers website....they have some lighting options that you could set up in the corner and it would be like a strobe light effect with the colour of your choice. Also, you could do something simple like string some lanterns with bulbs in them overhead or ask them about uplighting. If it's the same place I think it is, I recall that it was dim at night but not too dim. It's a nice ambience. I had both lunch and dinner there on different occasions.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced or has any thoughts about a garden wedding in heels? My aisle will basically be grass and I'm wondering if that will make for an awkward walk or not? I don't want to sink in the grass. LOL.

Try the fitted slips (like spanx or elite). You could do a half slip and then do either a lowback bra (Nu bra or one with convertible straps to pull it lower). This may sound crazy but if its a super fitted cotton dress, get another super tight one (best if in the same style) and double up. Take it to a seamstress and have her cut a fitted slip and line the dress.

What is your wedding date? UGH! I'm hoping Elite is still available for mine. Although I'm still not sold on videography. I have a few other co names I will send you. My wedding is in Montego Bay also. What venue are you using? There is a thread also on here with many photo/video suggestions.

Navy and pink is beautiful together!! Throw in a touch of white and it's perfect for beach side as it will look very nautical.
