  1. Had another thought for you...the paper flowers in a light silver tin looking vase if that matches your colours. I like the flowers. Spraypaint the cardboard vase if need be. I like the fact that they're really light in weight.
  2. Is there a certain rule that GM and the groom should follow for a destination wedding? Obviously most brides wear a white dress but what's the rule with men? I can't decide on a formal suit, a linen suit, a vest and pants, or a shirt with suspenders. I'm not having a beach wedding but I am having a classy garden wedding in the tropics. I don't want guests to look dressier than the groom but I don't know what the norm is....Any help is appreciated.
  3. The box isn't ugly. It just depends on what your theme is. There has to be a way to work it in and make it all come together. IE: If you have a paper theme - add paper cones with confetti to the sides of chairs for guests to throw as you walk back up the aisle, use the paper straws for coctail hour and have paper lanterns or flower fans hanging from the ceiling. It could work very well.
  4. Just another thought...these could be really cute and match well with the straws posted earlier. Depending on your colour theme. Scratch my previous comment. These could be amazing for a DW centrepiece. Who even looks at them anyways. You can even have a game and let guests win them and maybe stuff some other trinkets in the box like JA rum or keychain or something. OK now I'm all over the place but you get my drift.
  5. I've never seen them in reality but my guess is that they may look a lil "lame" as you say but only to the ppl who are fixated on real flowers only. Having said that...I think in your photos they will look cute. AND...because it is a destination wedding anything goes and ppl aren't going to be expecting some lavish imports. They are light and can match decor easily. I say go with it and add some candles to jazz it up. Hell, I'm looking at lugging some dollar store vases and fake orchids with me. This would be a much easier solution.
  6. @Justine416 Awesome Thanks!! I will go this weekend and see what i can find. Thanks!! @Ashk...congrats and best wishes. I did end up calling a TA so hopefully I will have equally good luck with her. @Dazeydawl These straws look amazing! Going to order the hot pink stripes or the polka dot ones. I really don't need them but it's just another cute and inexpensive way to tie in my colours. THANKS! Fyi..I feel like I'm addicted to this site/wedding websites these days. Am I the only nutbar like that? I am on it when I'm home, pop in and out while at work and now I just saw the phone app which i refuse to download because I'm on planning overload right now. Lol
  7. That's awesome! Is there a store name or exact location you can provide? I'd love to check this place out. It's far but I'll travel for a great deal! I agree...Creative Bag is pricey in comparison to some of the american co's.
  8. I lOVE fuschia and navy together. I was going to do that but ended up with fuschia and silver.
  9. Thanks!! I will get in contact with them today.
  10. Ok, I will look into that today. If anyone has a good travel agent in the GTA that they can refer me to please send the info. Much appreciated.
  11. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can get paper, nylon or silk parasols at a good price? And by good price, I mean under $6 for the paper version.
  12. I have no clue what cinematography even means but I will def ask. Lol. As for Elite Media, I went to a wedding where they were working and the video party was very cool! Their music was great too! Gosh...now I keep going back and forth in my head if I should just make the splurge.
  13. Which travel agent did you use? Are they in Toronto? I'm wondering if I should contact a few others. The one I used gave me rates that were so high in comparison to what I was finding online. That's why I opted to just do it on my own. But now I'm having second thoughts...I don't want ppl calling me for information or travel assistance.
  14. Hello all, Does anyone have any interesting suggestions on how to hang paper lanterns at a venue with no tent, no trees etc.? I am going to source some 12' poles to stick in the grass and thread them that way but thought I'd ask if any of you ladies have seen anything interesting. Thanks in advance. ALSO...any suggestions on the best looking sizes to get is appreciated also.
  15. YOu're worried?? This thread is making ME worried now. HAHAHAH!! I'm not even using a travel agent. Since my wedding isn't at a hotel I'm suggesting where guests should stay and letting them book it on their own. You wana go research and find a better deal???...go right ahead. I don't want the stress of it all. But hopefully they will be able to find a room. :-s
  16. OMG!! Jreist, you are truly a superwoman!! Just a suggestion if you don't have any throw away luggage, pack one small and one bigger and that way you can fill the smaller luggage coming home and put it in the bigger one. That's what I"m doing. Question...does your resort have a screen foryour slideshow or do you have to bring that and projector. That's a cool idea I may just have to steal from you. I need to make this list my checklist for the future. SO much to do.
  17. I believe Bellefield House has that as an option to add on to their wedding package. If you call them I'll sure they'll tell you who they use and let you negotiate with them directly.
  18. Island Pics JA are VERY reasonable. Thanks for the post. I contacted them this morning and already received a reply with quotes. I want to compare them to Roxroy but can't view roxroy site. Thanks for the info
  19. Is Roxroy similar in price? For some reason I can 't view his video samples online. It keeps saying I have pop up blockers on and I don't. Very frustrating.
  20. Yes, my gf's and fam are getting annoyed to. I have to make a conscious effort to ask them how their days and life is going so that it's not all about me. Even my FI is always changing the subject when I start talking. LOLOL!! It's nuts!
  21. I'll find the info and get back to you. so long as we're not needing the chairs on the same day it's all good. hahahah
  22. Question: How do you guys reply to a post and have the original message quoted within your reply???
  23. I'll def contact Floral Fantasies and see if they can help me with the flowers. I actually got a quote that I'll probably use for the chiavari chairs. Its $3/chair plus delivery which works out to an extra $200. So that makes the chairs approx $5/ea. And they have SILVER!! The co is located in St. Annes (30mins from Mobay). I actually just looked up the JA yellowpages and started calling and emailing the supply co's. Lots of them were located in Kingston but this one was the closest. Although their delivery fee didn't vary much from the co's I contacted in Kingston which is 3hrs away. I tried to negotiate delivery but she said no can do. The price seems fair enough so I'll stick with it. Thanks for the Floral Fantasies info. Going to email or call today re ceremony flowers and bouquets etc.
  24. @Justine416...the prices on justartifacts are the best I've seen online to date. Whooo hoo!! I wasn't sure what the most popular sizes were either. But as it stands right now, my shopping cart for Justartifacts currently has about 20 of the 12"lanterns, 20 of the 8' and 20 of the 3" (two bags of the 10pk for $5 or somthing like that). My wedding colours are silver and fuschia so I was planning to order the magenta (closest I saw to fuschia), the grey and then the smallest ones would be in white. Does that sound like too many colours? Im not sure how to decide. Advice or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
