On Marvin's website it says that certain resorts are clients of his company. The list includes Now Sapphire and Jade, Secrets, and many others. Does this mean that these resorts use his services exclusively? I only ask because the brochures that Now Sapphire has sent me don't include what I really want. But I know that if they use Marvin that I have many (MANY!) other options. Can anyone fill me in?

I feel the same way! The honeymoon is sounding more appealing to me right now . Just the two of us. You will have to fill me in all about Maroma when you get back.

Mylene you are amazing! I am surprised that for the upgrade from Eternity to Divine that more pictures aren't included. Just so I understand correctly, they put the pictures included in any package on disc for you, and then print a hard-cover photo book with those 24 photos...? Have you seen your video yet? One of my sisters is a photographer, but she will be one of my bridesmaids. I am hoping that she will be able to take pictures of my fiance and I before the ceremony, but I will need to use the resort photographer for everything else. 24 photos is not a lot extra, will likely have to upgrade also. Thanks for your help! We booked our honeymoon week tonight. I am getting so excited!

I can definitely back up that El Dorado resorts are amazing. Though I haven't attended a wedding there, the resorts are the BEST I have ever been to. Amazing food, amazing service, beautiful grounds. My Fiance and I are going to have our second week at the El Dorado Maroma and I cannot wait!

Well I just sent in all of the documentation for our wedding. I am so excited! Also a bit nervous that we get accepted for our date, I guess the waiting to hear back starts now. Can't wait to start seriously planning!

Hi Everyone, I'm in the process of booking our date! I am so excited. I have a question for you Now Sapphire Brides: When sending in your Credit Card authorization form, is it necessary to already have your trip booked? The form is asking for our reservation name and confirmation number. My Fiance and I want to book the resort before we book our trip - to make sure we get our date, etc. Perhaps this is just a general form for all credit card payments? Thanks! Dina

Another Ontario bride here! I too have had difficulty determining how to get the best price for my guests. I talked to a TA right after we got engaged (May 2012), and what she was quoting me seemed WAY too high. I waited a bit before I contacted someone else and she suggested that for better pricing I wait until closer to the date before booking - which has been quite difficult. I just want to start planning this wedding! I still haven't decided on a place and am getting stressed! I have an appointment with a TA again on Monday and I am hoping it is going to go well. I am glad that I am not the only one going through this!

Sarah, I am having my 3 sisters stand up for me in my wedding, while my fiance will only have two of his brothers (and potentially only one). Ten years from now it's important that you are happy with the people you've selected - you wont even care what your pictures look like.

I think that is such a cool idea! I also want to do luggage tags. I think that it would be such a nice surprise to receive that in the mail. Hopefully it doesn't cost too much in postage!

Honestly? The tequilla terrace is the location that I love the most of any wedding location I have seen of any resort so far. I LOVE it. But now, in doing more research into the cost of booking Now Sapphire, I am so disappointed that it is outside of our budget. I am so bummed.

Just so I understand, the resort DJ is $350/hour, but to rent speaker system for an iPod is $150/hour. To get an outside DJ is a vendor fee of $300. This is insane.

I can't believe that it costs 150/hour for speaker set-up. Any brides have experience bringing their own speakers?

Andrea, Yes, you get a resort map (one map that includes all 3 resorts). They gave us one at check in, and then there was also one (or maybe two) in the room. It was super helpful. I got a bit lost one day trying to find the beach from Coba! haha.

To get an idea of how the resort is laid out, google "Grand Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Maps" and then select Images. Tons of maps come up that show the layout of each individual resort, or of all 3 resorts in one. Although the resort is very spread out, you can walk everywhere in a fairly short time. There are also trolleys coming and going every 10-15 minutes that stop at specific locations. The drivers are very helpful to find your way around! You will definitely need a ride to the hacienda, it's pretty far away from all 3 locations. Future MrsWarner: I haven't selected a specific date yet, unfortunately. My fiance and I have decided on the week of November 16th, but we haven't even finalized a resort yet. We're deciding between two resorts, but the Bahia isn't one of them. I am on this thread because I stayed at the GBP Coba in September when I was on vacation, and posted asking if I could keep an eye out to answer any questions for any brides while I was down there. Since I enjoy being helpful, I post on this thread from time to time with any bits of information I have. Hope you ladies are having a wonderful Saturday morning!

I know that there's a little "market" between the Coba and Akumal resorts. Then there is a Market at the Hacienda also. There are hammocks at Coba and Akumal I believe.

Hi Ladies, I am wondering if anyone can help me about the cost of a DJ. I've looked on the wedding guide but can't find any information. Does the resort have a DJ? Could anyone give me a price? I've also heard that you have to rent a speaker system if you want to bring an IPod and play your own music. Can anyone verify these for me? I know that I have read about renting the speaker system, I just can't remember if I read it in this thread or not. Any help would be great. Thanks! Dina
