I have heard that at the Now Jade they allow you to swap the musician for two hours of DJ. Were you able to take advantage of this? I am also wondering if anyone knows if candles are allowed on the tables for the reception? Are we able to light them? Thanks ladies!

Hi Noxx, Thanks so much for that information. I am pretty disappointed that the canopy is completely plain. I would have thought that they would have at least added some white material to it like I have seen in nearly every other wedding. Your review was great. I am so glad to hear such amazing things about the resort. Congratulations on your wedding! I would love to see pictures!

Hi Fellow brides! I was wondering if any past brides can help me out with something. I've spent quite a bit of time on the Now Jade thread reading all of the posts (thought it would be helpful as the resorts are sister properties). I know that at the Jade, included with the divine package the gazebo is decorated with flower medallions. I am curious if this is the same with the Sapphire. In the divine package for the Sapphire, the brochure says "Canopy décor - chairs with white covers, ceremonial table and carpeted walkway". Does anyone know if that includes any kind of flowers, or is it just the white material? If it's included I would like to use the flowers from the gazebo as centerpieces after the ceremony. I am sorry if this was asked previously. Thanks, Dina

I read the entire thread and it took MANY days! You folks are so active on this thread it is amazing. Much better than the Now Sapphire thread You have all given me a lot to think about. Anyway, I have a question for any brides that used the free transfers to the resort provided in the Divine wedding package. Did anyone use this service? How was it? Was there someone there waiting for you as soon as you exited the airport (Cancun airport can be pretty hectic)? Did you have to wait? Any information would be very much appreciated. Also, does anyone have experience bringing candles through customs? Does the resort allow you to put real candles on the tables? (lit or unlit... I just want them as a splash of colour). Thanks so much! Dina

I had to do the same thing for reserving our wedding at the Now Sapphire. I'm not sure why. I wasn't too worried about it because if your card is compromised you are usually only responsible for the first 50-100$ of the fraudulent charges. Personally, I was more uncomfortable sending my photo ID. I sent my work ID, but got an e-mail back (immediately) that it wasn't sufficient and they needed my drivers license. I ended up just biting the bullet and doing it... The e-mail was directly to the specific wedding coordinator so I felt a bit better about that.

At the buffets there is usually a section dedicated to traditional Mexican food... sometimes you have to search for it... But always fresh guacamole, salsa, and then usually quesadillas and other good stuff! The buffets are so large sometimes it can be easy to miss.

Do you get picked up fairly close to the time you arrive, or do you have to wait a long time for the vehicle to arrive? Do you have to wait for other couples to arrive before the car leaves? Any information would be helpful. Getting married at the Now Sapphire but I believe the Now Jade also has the transportation included in the package. Thanks, Dina

Sorry, we will NOT have enough people to qualify for a group booking or a group rate. This makes the price substantially higher. I also think one of the reasons why the cost is so high for us from Toronto, is that there are other wedding parties flying out that same day. The cost is almost 500$ more from Toronto than it is from other Canadian cities (weird!).

Hi Heather, I actually got a really good rate through bookit.com. For a very upgraded room we were definitely under what other tour operators were offering. I called their number directly after doing some research online and booked everything over the phone. Fantastic customer service! I would highly recommend them. They are an American company, but do offer Canadian airlines also. One reason booking through them worked for us, is that we are not getting a group rate through another provider. Our guests are coming from Canada and the US, and I know that we will have enough people to qualify for a group rate leaving from Canada. As such, everyone is responsible for booking their own vacation. It definitely takes the pressure off of me and my fiance. It puts the onus onto our guests. They can also stay for as long, or as short as they like! I have given them the information for the dates we will be traveling and what they do is now up to them! I know this is not traditional for DWs, but it is what will work best for my FI and I, and our guests. If anyone has questions, I would be happy to answer!

I am with Kylat, can anyone else provide the information on night life of the resort? Our wedding is going to be very intimate... I am thinking no more than 20 guests. I will have music for first dance, but I am thinking it might be better to go to the disco after that. What's the disco like?

Hi MelB, I already have my dress (just need alterations), and the STDs went out 3 weeks ago. I have started looking at wedding invitations but I haven't settled on anything yet. My 3 sisters are going to be my bridesmaids. They have their dresses already. My dad already has his attire, my mom will be getting her dress soon. I know that we still need to work out attire for my fiance, and his groomsman. I hope to do that in the next few months. Any other ideas?

I just got off the phone to finish booking the flights and hotel reservation for my fiance and I! I am beyond excited! We are staying November 16th-23rd, our wedding is November 21st. So after the trip is booked, the dress is purchased, what do I do next? (I feel like an incredible weight has been lifted off of my shoulders and I don't know where to go from here...) Dina

I can now officially say that our trip is booked! Yipee, Yahoo! I am honestly walking on air right now I am so excited (and so relieved!) to have the flight and resorts booked for my Fiance and I. AND we managed to stay on budget. So, the big question, November Brides, is what do I do next? :D Dina

Honestly, I want to book my flights ASAP. But the cost of our package just went up by about 400-500$/pp. I don't really know what to do. I am ok with paying a bit extra for our trip, but I am worried about our guests... I sent out STDs two weekends ago and haven't gotten much response from my guests. Since I don't expect many people to come, we can't take advantage of a group booking and therefore everyone will have to book on their own. It's stressing me out quite a bit to be honest!
