Did any of your guests have this happen? I'm thinking I should warn our guests but don't want to scare anyone! Also how did you find the drinks at the resort? Are they served in small plastic cups at the pool bar? Still deciding on whether to include mugs or stadium cups in our welcome bags. Thank you in advance! I feel like every resort you go to now there is some pressure to attend their sales pitch. It's such big business in the Riviera Maya all resorts are getting in on it. Just remind your guests to give a firm "no" when they check in, and they should be left alone. It's mostly established couples that they target (ones with money), so single guests will likely not be bothered. They try and get you in by offering a free massage, or other 'amazing' offers. Ignore them!

So time to get back into this exercise thing. 2.5 months to go for the wedding, time to crack down. I need some support ladies! This morning I went for a run. Need to continue that trend at least 3 times a week. I want to look amazing in that bikini! (and my dress). Sounds like you are all doing well with your workout plans. We can do this!!!

I've been to the El Dorado Royale. It was amazing. The food is fantastic and I felt like we were treated like royalty. The staff really go above and beyond to make you happy. There is not one negative thing I could say about the resort. It's huge with tons of pools, and a long beach (which is quite rocky). I love the Royale so much that we are going to the El Dorado Maroma for our honeymoon and I can't wait!!!!

I also wanted to mention that I am not doing OOT bags. Instead, I am giving out tumbler mugs/cups. I found awesome ones at Sam's Club for a very reasonable price. Six cost $20 + tax. They are super cute and each box has 6 different colours (I thought less of a chance for guests cups to get mixed up with 6 different colours). It was a great option for us, as I wanted to give our guests something nice, but OOT bags seemed like a lot of work and a lot of extra money. If anyone is interested, here's the link: http://www.samsclub.com/sams/double-walled-tumber/prod8210138.ip

I am getting married in November of this year. I will not have too many guests and am planning to have one long table. I am going to bring a table runner in a beige/tan colour and "sprinkle" seashells and starfish from Michael's/craft store down the runner. I am planning on purchasing or renting vases and putting the brides maids bouquets in them, while also transferring the centerpiece from the ceremony table for the table decor. Decor isn't very important to me. I would be absolutely fine with the white provided by the resort, but I think this will look nice and wont be too expensive or much of a headache.

I would also like to add that with the NOW resorts bookit sometimes has "book 5 rooms get one free" promos too, which could help you out if you book all at once (I believe they all need to be on the same transaction....) -

I used bookit!!! My parents booked their trip for the wedding, as did two of my sisters, and my FI's entire side of the family. You can book online or call into their centre. I called into their 800 line and the rep was amazing. They run specials all the time, and have promo codes too. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. -
My save the date was very simple. It had pictures of my FI and I, and said the date of our wedding and the resort/location. I used created a special wedding e-mail address, and sent them out via e-mail. In that e-mail I had the wedding website listed. Could your daughter create a wedding e-mail address where guests can contact for further information? (That way it's all consolidated to one e-mail address vs hers, yours, his, etc). Say something like "please e-mail [email protected] to request more information"...or something similar?

So invitations and wedding bands can be crossed off the list! We went to the mall yesterday and purchased our bands. Now just to wait for them to come in. I am so excited! We also got one groomsmen gift yesterday. I still have no idea what to get for my bridesmaids. I feel rather clueless on that front. Just over 4 months until we leave!!!

Yes, I sent our invites out on Friday. If you can believe it, Canada Post delivered them really quickly. Some were delivered as early as Tuesday, they were sent from Ontario to BC by Wednesday. Shockingly, the invitation was received in Scotland before anywhere else! Save the dates went out at the beginning of March. Invitations the middle of July. I put an RSVP date of September 2nd, for a November 21 wedding. I thought that I was a bit behind on the invitations compared to a lot of other brides on this website (esp other November 2013 brides). Your wedding is about a month after mine, so it seems like our timelines are really similar. However, I really don't think it matters at all when you send them out, or when your RSVP date is, as long as it's enough time to finalize things with the resort. You probably also have a pretty good idea of who you have attending already anyway, right?

Hello Ladies. Glad to hear everyone is still doing so well. This morning was FINALLY a cool day! I went for a run! The first in a month.... I am glad I kicked myself into gear to go. I bought my dress off the rack at a huge sale. It was a type of sample sale I suppose. At the time I was probably around the same weight as I am now. The dress is a size 14, but I would say I am probably around a size 8-10. When I tried it on in the store it fit nicely everywhere but the hips, where it needs to be taken in quite a bit. I am hoping this wont be an issue.... yikes! I hope it can be taken in enough Now I am a bit worried!

We are staying an extra week than our guests, but moving to a different resort. I think I might be more excited for our honeymoon than our wedding! I can't wait for it all to be just my new husband and I enjoying our time together.

Invites are officially DONE. They just need to be dropped off in the mail tomorrow. What a relief. We made them ourselves (from a kit from Hobby Lobby), and it was a lot more work than I thought. My Fiance designed the layout of the text and printed them. He was amazing. Glad to have that big hurdle out of the way.
