Oh dear that isn't good at all... Isn't it laid out in a contract somewhere what the pricing would be and who it is payable too??

I haven't heard of a dress that will go in the washing machine because most wedding dresses have lots of little details that could be ruined from the swooshing of the washer....however I was reading about a TTD shoot on here recently and the photographer and a number of brides said that they had their dresses cleaned after they were in mud, water etc and they came out great....even better some of them got a killer deal on it while they were at their destination and paid way less than you would normally pay to have a wedding dress cleaned. I know it isn't the exact answer you are looking for but thought I would pipe in with what little I know!! Happy Planning!!

I havent seen anything regarding this specifically but there are so many great threads that have been posted over the years that this site is such a wealth of information!!! I havent really thought too much about the ceremony but at some point I will have to look into what we are going to say and do etc. How about you @shanandcal ? Do you have any special plans for your ceremony?

Oh my fingers are definitely crossed but don't worry. I took my FI on his first cruise last Jan and he was not into it to start....once he was on board he had such a blast it was no bother to convince him to book our wedding on a cruise. Just relax and have fun while on the cruise and try and find something that he will really want to do and splurge on that....can you guys check out shore excursions together before you leave? That was one of FI's and mines favorite ways to pass the time before a cruise...and now before the wedding!!!

Wow thats great. I wish I could get him involved in making those but he barely noticed the boarding pass pictures I showed him. I'm sure once the stuff is all over our room while I am making them he will take note but until then he seems content to leave it up to me.

This is the same as my FI I can get an opinion out of him but I can tell that he isn't really interested in giving it. Also if I go on and on and on he gets a bit annoyed...sorta like I do with his sports lol

So sorry that your destination wedding isn't happening for the time. I think some of the advice here was great on how to deal with family things in general so thanks to all the ladies that took time to write. I know that it is hard but I am sure you guy will have a great wedding and a fantastic honeymoon...and honestly your trip will be better without all his family along to complain the whole time.... Wow I hadn't really thought about this but now that you guys mention it, it might be worth chatting about. Definitely not as big a deal on a cruise where the liquor isn't free but still will want to make sure anyone I might be concerned about is not too tipsy before the i do's are exchanged....don't want anyone to miss the reception!

Oh well I am sure they will have fun!....on the cruise it is a bit tougher for kids to get alcohol...but it also means an added expense for us and our guests....

Make sure you express how important it is for him to be there. Don't be accusing but make sure he understands that you expect him to be there. Obviously it isn't about getting time off work or money to take a trip if they are already going on 6 a year.... but perhaps stepmom is feeling a bit of jealousy? Weddings can bring up lots of weird feelings for people involved. Talk with your dad about it and you might find out it was totally a miscommunication! Hope everything works out well!

Hmm now that you mention it I have seen it in the movies....I think I will try and do something for FI but likely not a watch because he is so finnicky about those. Anyways I will post any ideas I get around here and hope to see some from some other Brides!!!

I am thinking about ordering it pretty early...considering we are getting married in Nov 2013 when do you guys think I should order it by?

Cool! I actually phoned todAy and booked our cabin on the ship and put a 48 hr hold on the wedding... The wedding person told me that no one else had booked yet which is exactly what I wanted. Now I just have to make up my save the dates and invites and send those out and see who comes!!!
