  1. I agree that both dresses look great. I am definitely leaning towards one of these dresses myself but will be ordering very early on to ensure that I am able to order another one if I really needed too....fingers crossed that wont happen and I will just end up saving some money and having a fabulous dress!
  2. Thanks so much for the info. I made an appt to try on my first dress this saturday!!! So excited. I am definitely going to order way in advance because I agree whole heartedly with you about timing!!! Thanks again for your info!
  3. I like a lot of these options. Currently the wedding dress I am leaning towards actually has a lace overlay so it is like two dresses (Martina Liana 359) So I havent decided if I will wear one or both to the reception.
  4. Those look great. I like the idea of the flip flops for the bridal party but I don't think I will worry about the guys too much!
  5. Thank you so much for posting this....they look AMAZING.....AMAZING AMAZING...can't say it enough. I am definitely going to check out the video and try these out as a DIY. Wow thanks again for posting these hangers are such a great idea. Also love the idea of the personalized silk robe...I think I might do those for all the gals and one for myself....
  6. Yes Amber Necklaces are awesome for teething...they are actually also great for any type of pain like arthritis...I used to work at a kids store and we sold the necklaces and braces and lots of adults would come in and attach two baby ones together for themselves. I believe it is Baltic Amber btw
  7. That is awesome!!! You are so lucky....We loved ordering breakfast every morning with the card that you leave on the door at night. Each morning we would have juice and coffee and toast and fruit out on the balcony and it was some of the best memories of the ship!!! Enjoy every minute of it and you will definitely be all set for cruising for the wedding! I know he will find something he likes. Even on a strict budget you can get a lot done on the ship...walk around the ports or make friends with others on the ship and see what they are doing...you can get some great deals when you team up with others!
  8. I was thinking about doing a TTD shoot on the beach in the second week of our honeymoon! That way all the guests would be gone and I could just focus on having a fun photo shoot!
  9. Wow took a look at the villa and it looks amazing!!!!
  10. Hi Heather, Welcome to BDW! I am pretty new here myself but am loving this site so far. We are from Victoria BC Canada and we are getting married aboard the Carnival Magic in Galveston Texas! There are so many amazing ideas on this site it is almost a bit overwhelming....the DIY ladies are awesome!. Just as a heads up you need 150 posts before you can download any of the awesome templates that you will see in some of the threads. I am saving all the threads I want to look at once I get to 150 by subscribing to them. Welcome again and looking forward to hearing about your wedding. Happy Planning!
  11. Love the dress as well. ARe you getting married...you could do a wedge that you could glam up yourself....I have seen a few brides on here do them to sandals and they look really nice.... If you are looking for elegant I would be tempted to go with something traditional like a white kitten heel! Good luck and looking forward to seeing your posts! I am going to try on dresses for the first time on Saturday!!!! sooo excited!
  12. Oh about the photographers I forgot to mention...based on what other brides have said and 1 photo price list that I saw the packages range from $799 to $3000. I know it is high and I just about fell on my face when I read about that but I verified....now the cruise line photographers are all actually pretty good...have you been on a cruise before and had your picture taken like every 10 seconds??? It's one of those people that would be taking your wedding photographs. Some are really great and some are just good! You can't even get a disk of the photos for less than $800 I believe....now the cruise line will sort of make it difficult to bring your own photographer and do photos but I have read of brides doing this and not having any problems other than some dirty looks. I have definitely heard to pass on the videographer services because the videos are notoriously horrible. Also the week of your cruise you can also get the photographer to take some honeymooning shots of you and your FI which is nice...you can try and get this included in the photo package you buy for the wedding!
  13. Hi Karen, I am currently planning our Wedding for Nov 2013 aboard the Carnival Magic. We love cruising so it was an easy choice for us to go on a cruise for the wedding. Our group will not be as large as yours will be more likely max 20 people, but I just booked the cruise yesterday on the Early Saver Plan and I put a hold on the wedding aboard the ship....they require the full amount of the weddings when you book it...and they only offer so many weddings per ship. It is also advantageous to be the first wedding to book on the ship because you get first choice on things like ceremony location(based on attendance) and length of reception (which range from 1hour to 1-1/2 hours, although I have heard of some brides that have booked first being able to get a 2 hour time slot) If you go onto Carnival's website they have a wedding section and you can download all the package information about what is offered on which itinerary etc. It does include the costs for the packages but there are also extras that you can add on. http://www.carnival.com/cms/fun/weddings/weddings.aspx?icid=CC_Footer_68 They also offer both shipboard and destination weddings in port. The thing about an in port wedding is that you have to understand that Cruise ships do have to stray from their itinerary from time to time....which means they have to skip ports sometimes....even if your wedding is all set up to go on the beach you might have to sail past it. For this reason I chose to do a shipboard wedding on embarkation day and then enjoy the rest of our wedding cruise with our family and friends....The first week will be our 7 day caribbean cruise with family and friends and then everyone else will leave and we will stay on the ship for another 7 days to celebrate our honeymoon! Here is what is included in our Deluxe Wedding Package: DELUXE ROMANCE PACKAGE: For an unforgettable celebration, this package offers the ceremony with a one and a half-hour reception. Package includes: A dedicated Wedding Agent assisting you with every detail from selecting your package to "I- do". On the day of your wedding, Priority check-in for the bridal couple and their guests, a local Wedding Officiant, A Wedding Coordinator to work solely with you and your guests, Photographer (Wedding photos/packages available for purchase separately onboard) Photography service includes the ceremony, reception, with various portraits taken around the ship and studio, Ideal wedding location, Romantic wedding set up, Selection of Wedding Vows and Poems/Readings, Recorded ceremony music, 8-Rose Bridal Bouquet with matching Rose Boutonniere for the groom *(Flowers may vary based on some locations, where tropical arrangements will be substituted for roses. Additional flower options are available, as an upgrade). One and a half-hour Open bar with selection of hot and cold hors d' oeuvres, Ice Carving, Champagne Toast, (1-set) of etched "Our Wedding" champagne flutes, 2-Tiered Wedding Cake* with keepsake topper. Cake Server and Coffee/Tea service provided. A bottle of Sparkling Wine and Chocolate Covered strawberries for the bride and groom's stateroom. (Additional items available upon request, such as unity candle lighting ceremony, additional flowers, etc. Inquire with your Wedding Agent for more details) *2-Tiered Wedding Cake provided up to a maximum of 50 guests. Based on number of guests, a 3-Tier or 4-Tier Wedding Cake will be provided. This package will accommodate up to 20 guests, including the Bride and Groom. Additional guests may attend at the extra cost of $30.00 per person (Subject to applicable State Sales Tax). Package fees pertain to all attendees. Please refer to pages 9-18 for package pricing by port. This costs $1895 + fees and taxes comes to $2209. And you have to pay that amount upfront... Anyways feel free to ask me any questions...I havent gotten married on the ship yet but I've done lots of cruising and ooodles of research!!! Happy Planning
  14. Hi HK, So sorry that this is happening to you. I read a lot on Cruise Critic about how it is hard to deal with TA's sometimes for weddings and some brides end up being the go between. I was worried about this and I decided to go with our regular PVP. She is great and told me to give them her direct line so that I don't have to get involved....now we will see what actually happens when people start booking but for now it seems ok. Your TA sounds like he needs a swift kick in the behind...I would give him a deadline to get everything past due done by and inform him that if it didn't happen that day you will be switching your reservation to someone more competent....sometimes people get good reputations...and I have no clue why! Hope you are enjoying planning your carnival wedding and I'll be excited to see how things go for you! I am sure it will be a magical day no matter what!
  15. Wow great job. I am worried about being able to make some of the templates work too but I guess I will wait and see how it goes when I can actually download one lol!
  16. Wow some of the questions on there I would have never thought of....thanks for posting!
  17. This is a really great planning thread....can't wait till I can open some of those templates! Thanks for taking the time to write it!
  18. I was thinking cuff links as well... and also a special garter...it's not really a gift for him before the wedding but I was thinking about getting a favorite sports team on the garter and surprising him with it when he takes of the garter. But now that you mention cuff links I saw some "team" ones that he would probably like as well.
  19. Love the auto deposit to the bank account...I have also set it up that everytime I do a debit transaction in my bank account $.50 is deposited to my bank account...it actually adds up fast as well and you don't even notice it. My bank has the option to set the amount you want deposited to your account per transaction....up to $10 I think.
  20. We are in the same boat with paying for the whole wedding ourselves.....the whole wedding and then some because FI's family is really unable to make the trip on their own so we have taken it upon ourselves to ensure that MIL comes....problem is she has some health issues and definitely needs and escort so along comes future BIL who also cant save money and his GF and it all adds up.....I know it makes me sound bitter but I really do want them to come it's just hard sometimes! Anyways I was thinking something a lot smaller in terms of a gift...like a card and an engraved flask or something like that. I've seen those out there for cheap
  21. Thanks for posting the other link to the instructions. I will have to take some time later on and do up some templates. Subscribed for later!! Thanks ladies!
  22. Thanks so much for posting this wording....it is great to see what everyone else is using for theirs. Thanks again
