Just got an email from the Romance Manager that says anything added to the wedding package that is NOT food and beverage will always be plus 18% tax. And anything added to the package that INCLUDES food and beverage will be plus 28% tax and service.

Hi ladies! I am excited to be a part of this forum as a PPR bride! After months of searching for the right resort (originally we wanted Riviera Maya), we finally put a deposit down on PPR. It feels good to finally be moving forward with my planning and you all have been a huge help sharing your experiences. I've been talking to the Romance Office in Miami and wanted to ask if any of you have been charged taxes on any of your "wedding extras". I think they told me tax in DR is 18% which seems unusually high and wanted to check. Thanks!

Hi all! After reading through majority of the posts, it looks like most brides have chosen the CECO terrace for the reception. I am considering having my reception at The Lobster House because I wanted something outdoors, preferably beach front, and had a covering in case it rained. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Fridays so they can use it for private events then. My main concern is that I haven't seen any pictures or read any reviews about receptions taking place there in this forum. Other concerns I have for this location: noise restrictions, size, and intimacy/privacy. We estimated approximately 70 guests joining us and I need something large enough for tables and a good size dance floor. The WC said we can use both the The Grill and Lobster House seeing as they're both connected. I've never been to the resort so I'm basing my decisions off reviews and pictures. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi Ladies- My FI and I are looking into having our wedding at EPM next December. Can anyone share what venues they've chosen for the reception? I am looking for an open-air venue (preferably one with a roof in case of bad weather and to make the dinner feel more intimate). We are hoping to have around 70 guests so I need a space that will accommodate tables plus a dance area. Anyone that has been to EPM: does the resort have anything like this? I looked at the resort map and from what I've seen, The Lobster House might fit this criteria. Any advice would help! Thanks!
