Flow of reception/no dj
Melissa14 replied to shes2013's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Thought I was the only one in limbo about this. I am in the process of booking the DJ but now I don't know if it's worth it. Decisions! -
I agree about the plus 1. I took time to think about it and now I see it's not the biggest deal in the world. Plus 14-15 people on the other hand...ugh!

@kerri85 This is soooo helpful! Thank you thank you! I am getting married at Dreams on 7/27/13 and I'm really nervous about using the salon at the resort. I think I will take your advice and NOT take a chance. Did you have bridesmaids that got their hair or make-up done?
-
Wow! The nerve of some people! Not only have I dealt with all these uninvited guests this week but NOW some of my guests who already RSVP'd are calling me to complain about how expensive Cabo is How do they not understand how much stress I am under? I would never bother a bride with these things! I didn't even make any of my bridesmaids the maid of honor because I didn't want to impose on anyone's life and have them running around for me. aaahhh this was supposed to be stress FREE! Thank you ladies for venting and letting me vent!

haha #boom I love it! Going to take it one day at a time.

Does anyone know where I can get sparklers outside of Dreams? The resort wants to charge us $5 a piece! seems expensive
-
@Cherina - Are you kidding me!? Oh no!
-
@westwoodian - You can't ship them from anywhere because they can't go on a plane. My hotel is charging $5 a piece and that's pretty expensive in my opinion. Have you called Javier?
-
Thank you so much! I'm definitely having my fiance deal with his mom... sigh I need to take a deep breathe and see how many people RSVP and then I will deal with my friend. If she is a good friend she will understand. Thanks again!!

HELP- Travel Agent Recommendations

Teresa with Vacations for Less is great! -
Yes, the more I think about it the more I realize its unfair to ask someone to go alone. I don't know what I'll do about my mother in law. :/

Hi Lauren, I will try my best to post a full review of all my vendors. Gilda seems awesome so far. She always replies to my e-mails so quickly and anything I ask for she assures me she can do. Crossing my fingers for us both! We are on a tight budget so I haven't planned anything other than the wedding as a group. I'm sure a group of us will end up doing something together anyways I just want it to happen naturally where I am not in charge. LOL

Hi Ladies, I really need help/advice from someone who feels my pain! So our invitations went out about a month ago and now we are six months away from our wedding. Now my future mother-in-law decided that she needs six invitations to invite her friends that I didn't plan on inviting. Is it me or is that insane? I just don't think it's fair especially since my fiance and I are paying for everything AND we sat down six months ago (a year before the wedding) and created our guest list that I planned our wedding around. What do I do??? I so badly want to put my foot down and say no to her but I don't know if I have it in me. What I do know is that we are on a budget. Also, my friend decided that she would bring a guest to my wedding. She RSVP'd with their names and meal choices already. I know it's just one other person but the whole point of a destination wedding was to get away and NOT have random people at our wedding that we did not personally invite. I addressed each invite to a specific person but I didn't write the number of guests allowed on the response card so I feel like it's partially my fault. How can I tell her without hurting our friendship that her friend cannot come to the wedding? Can I even do that? Oh the joy of wedding planning!

Looking for past Dreams brides! Hi Ladies, My wedding date is 7/27/13 and with six months to go I am working on staying in budget as all the final vendor payment dates approach. My reception is being held at the Oceana Terrace and I want to know how the lighting is in that area? Do I need the globe lights? Do I need a dance floor? Help!!

Jackies Dreams Cabo Wedding Review w/ link to pics

Booked Ron Webber as my DJ. Thanks for the review. It was very helpful. -
Hi Everyone, Looking for past, present and future Dreams Los Cabos brides and destination brides in general. I have six months left until my wedding on 7/27/13 and I appreciate any advice or ideas. I'm still trying to figure this website out but it has been so tremendously helpful in my planning so I'm doing my best to stay active in the threads. With six months left to plan and organize I feel a little overwhelmed. I have all my important vendors booked, invitations mailed and ideas for what I want for everything and now it's time to just put everything together. WC - Yesica Travel Agent - Vacations For Less, Inc. Photographer - Gilda Badillo DJ - Ron Webber If anyone has any information on the vendors I chose please feel free to share. It's really hard booking and trusting vendors we've never met. Airfare - I contacted Alaska Airline and they gave me a 5% wedding group discount. I know it's not much but anything helps. They were very helpful and setting up the group discount was easy. Does anyone have good resources for airline tickets?? My travel agent cant' do much with airfare so I am shopping around for good deals. I've purchased my dress and my bridesmaid chose and purchased their dresses! Woo hoo! Now we need to accessorize and figure out what we are doing about hair and make-up. We purchased our wedding bands but will need to still size and engrave them. I'm working gathering RSVP responses, ideas for favors, ideas OOT bags and finalizing travel plans. I still have so much to do but have found really great resources along the way. I'm so excited for everything to come together. My fiance and I chose to go the destination wedding route in order to save money but also because we believe there is nothing more romantic than getting married on the beach. We are very excited to share this unforgettable trip and wedding with our closest friends and family. Best of luck to you all and happy planning. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Hello Ladies! I am also getting married at Dream. My wedding date is 7/27/13, JUST SIX MONTHS AWAY!!! My invitations are finally out and my guests have started RSVP'ing. Selecting an invitation was a process of it's own but feel free to contact me if you have any questions. My passport invitations were a big success! We chose to go with the Love Package but added a few outside vendors. Gilda Badillo for extra pictures as my fiance and I love pictures and we want to have as many as possible. I plan on asking my WC Yesica if we can use the photographer included in our package for the rehearsal dinner. Not sure if it's possible but I'm going to ask. I chose Florenta Flowers as my florist because she works very closely with Dreams and offered me a credit on her total for the money I paid towards the flowers in my package. She takes a long time to reply but I love her work and her blog is updated on a regular basis. I also love her Facebook page Florenta Flower Design. We booked Ron Weber as our DJ. Anyone heard anything about him? I really thought about just plugging in our iPod but I don't want to bother any of my guests by making them the unofficial DJ, plus I think the announcements at a wedding are so important. I think that might be it for outside vendors. Travel Agent - I'm working with Teresa Stauring of Vacations for Less, Inc. and she has been AMAZING! She always gets back to me quickly and answers all my questions clearly. We booked a 10 room block for our guests and she made everything easy and pain free. I highly recommend her. I still have so many little things to take care of like booking hair and make-up, favors, and so on but for the most part the big things are all taken care of. Hope this was helpful! Feel free to contact me with questions. xo! Melissa

Hello LeAnn, I'm curious about your site visit at Dreams. My wedding date is 7/27/13 and I'm not sure I will be able to do a site visit. Was it everything you expected?

Rehearsal Dinners @ Dreams Los Cabos
Melissa14 replied to KacySmy's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I'm getting married on 7/27/13 at Dreams in Cabo. Although, this thread was very helpful I just can't decide what to do for the rehearsal dinner. I can't get past the paying for food at an all inclusive resort. -
Hi Melissa My name is Melissa too and I am getting married at Dream on 7/27/13! We will be legally married before heading to Cabo and having a symbolic ceremony at Dreams. I also wanted to be legally married on the day of my wedding but it saves us tons of money and time to do it before. Hope that helps

Did you get a price from DJ Ricardo? Gilda Badillo charges $1750.00 for five hours and includes a DVD, a copyright letter, and an album. My wedding starts at 4 so I am booking her from 4-9. I figure that pretty much covers it all. Yes! It all adds up fast and there are so many details to attend to!
