  1. Amazing! You are so creative and crafty . I especially love the wedding program illustrated by your son and the tequila favors. Were the bottles just normal empty bottles and then you filled them with tequila? Look the labels!
  2. Love this idea too! I was thinking of something like that or picking up some postcards while there...just afraid I wont find something then not have a guestbook! I have also heard of people getting a Mexico (in my case) coffee table book with pretty scenic photos and people can sign where ever. So many good ideas! I would say either black or silver sharpies depending on the colors of the painting..
  3. I got all clear at the store but I saw the other colors there. At least at my door there was a pink and a blue and they both looked good:)
  4. Thank you everyone for the help! It does seem pretty easy to make my own...so maybe I will go that route. And then I can have it say whatever I want!
  5. I was hoping someone could help me with this.. I found this on Pinterest (see below), a guestbook photobook with different questions/sayings on each page where guests put an answer instead of just signing. I love this idea and this particular one was done by an Etsy designer and she is no longer making them. Does anyone know where I could find something like this? Not sure if this would be easy to make with a normal photobook like with Shutterfly or something. Thanks!
  6. Congrats on your day being so close!! That would be frustrating and I am sure it happens with most destination brides. I think the WC just assume all the last minute details will be finalized during your meeting when you get there. But I feel ya, its hard to let go and put your faith in someone to get things done that you have never even met! It will all work out and you will have your dream wedding:)
  7. Its beautiful and I definitely don't think it is too much:). Fun to hear everyone's stories behind the ring!
  8. I am wondering the same thing. We don't want people to bring gifts to Mexico, like you said them being there is enough, but we are also having an AHR and two bridal showers for me, and we wanted to register for that..and if anyone wanted to get us a wedding gift that isn't coming to Mexico;). I have seen people put something like "your presence is a gift enough, however if you feel inclined to congratulate us with a gift, we have provided the following registries for your convenience". This is a hard one!
  9. I felt the same way! I only chose my two sisters and best friends for bridesmaids because like you, I wanted to keep it small and simple. I was just my friends BM last summer and felt bad excluding her. I just made sure to tell all my friends that we were keeping it very small and that they only difference is that they will be standing up there and buying a dress but I am including all the girls in the wedding/events. I explained that because it is a destination wedding we will all be getting ready together and spending that special time. I guess it just depends how many friends you have that will be there! In the end some peoples feeling might be hurt (which I don't really understand because I wouldn't take offense) but you can't please everyone and the most important person to please is yourself..on your special day I think you should keep the dress shopping to a smaller crowd because you don't want too many opinions lol. That said, you want to share that special time with those you are close with.
  10. I have been to Cancun before and chose Riviera Maya for the wedding to avoid the party scene. If you go on the beach in Cancun it almost feels like you are on a "vegas strip". Although I haven't been to the riviera, from what I have seen and heard it is a lot more quite and secluded, but still close to Playa Del Carmen if you want to go out or into town. July will be one of the hotter months, but can also have occasional rain. I would agree that a later wedding would be best to avoid the heat. My wedding is in March and we are having a 5:00pm wedding. I am kind of nervous about it getting dark ... but in July you will be completely fine with a later time! I actually think that late winter, early spring is the most expensive time for Mexico due to the best weather (not as hot and little rain). The fall is hurricane season which is usually the cheapest and the summer isn't bad prices either. Whatever you decide your wedding will be perfect
  11. I also found these to be a good deal. Wish you didn't have to buy 72 though! Anyone know of another site where there isn't a minimum?
  12. I agree that the quality is pretty good for the price. Not quite as sturdy as my Starbucks one (including the straw), but for what we are using them for and to not pay a lot they are perfect! Mine too had a few scratches but nothing super noticeable.
  13. I just got them from the Dollar Tree! Went to one store and the were sod out , but the other store in my area had 48 clear ones..and I bought them all haha. Thanks so much for the heads up, don't know what I would do without this site!
  14. Yea I saw that thread and looked at Dollar Store's website and they are advertising for this week! I will be heading up there in a few minutes! Thanks
  15. Love how you put it all together! You inspired me to do something similar:)
