  2. Wow I haven't been on here to update in a LONG time! Lets just say with getting a puppy, starting a new job, buying our first home, wedding planning, and the holidays we have been a little busy:). Not to mention 3 of my friends and my sister have gotten engaged since I have and I am I bridesmaid in 2 of their weddings so far! Since I last posted I have sent my invitations out, almost finished altering my dress (future MIL is working on the bustle and I will post a pic when completed), got rest of bridesmaid gifts (necklaces & earrings), purchased OOT bag tumblers and bags, starfish for decorations, guestbook (still deciding if I like the idea I have, ill post a pic), 90% done with playlist, finished making my jewelry, completed the planning process with my WC, and had my first bridal shower before the holidays... Crazy how writing it all out it looks like I have accomplished a lot lately...even though it doesn't feel like it! We have all but 3 people booked that said they are coming and our guest count is at 30. We are pretty happy with the turnout so far . I will be posting pictures of everything new very soon.. Checklist for remaining items: -Complete playlist, including recording songs & timing/making categories on iPod -Purchase rest of OOT bag items (thinking..advil, pepto, sunblock, chapstick) -Stamp or some sort of decorative detail for OOT bags -Gifts for both sets of parents (still need to figure this out..) -Wedding gift for hubby (thinking engraved watch) -Find cute/fun bachelorette night dress -2nd/3rd bridal showers (going home to have family shower and friend lingerie shower next month:) -Get final guest list to WC -Finish welcome letter -Finish printed menus -Purchase makeup & hair supplies (I am doing my own with help of BMs) -Write vows (and make sure hubby is working on it!) -Send out clarification of final details to WC (there has been a lot of back and forth and want to make sure we have it figured out completely) ..k I think thats it! Only 60 days to go!!!!!
  3. I just found out from my travel agent that the resort is almost full and prices have gone up a little bit! Stressful dealing with the procrastinators at this point . I also have Jacqueline and despite taking a week or so to respond to emails (which I hear is common) she has been great. Since your wedding is in March (mine is 3/1) she should be in touch. I was getting less responses in the beginning (July) and now its a lot better as the date is closer. Good luck!
  4. Beautiful! Glad to hear everything went perfect for you guys:) We are using Juan too. Love the pics and can't wait to hear/see more!
  5. oh and one of the other big reasons we choose the mint package was that after being outside in the heat (especially in June for you) all week and the wedding day we thought it would be nice to be inside with air conditioning for dancing and everyone to enjoy themselves! Have you thought about using your ipod instead of a DJ? I have heard from brides that it worked out perfect and they liked being able to choose all their songs. I downloaded an app called weddingdj and it is great! It organizes all your songs by category (recessional, first dance party, etc.) and fades songs in and out. One of my friends is being our "MC" to announce things and make sure things run smoothly with the music. Just a suggestion, but I know how fun a DJ can be!
  6. You're wedding date is my birthday:). I too had a really hard time deciding between the strawberry and mint package. In the end we decided on the mint package simply because the price difference was quite ridiculous, especially for only 3 hours of your wedding day! I guess you have to decide if having a outdoor reception is very important to you or not. Having 75 guests the price per person for the strawberry package will really add up! I have seen pictures online of other brides using the banquet rooms and they do not look bad at all, just like a banquet room. Probably need some extra decorations if you want it to look different. I am going very simple but bringing my own candles (plain white), renting vases from the resort and putting sand in the vase with the candle, then putting skinny starfish on the table. One flower table arrangement is included in the mint package and I am also renting vases to put our bouquets in as decorations for the head table. I am not doing seating arrangements as I am really laid back and want things simple. However I do love ill the cute name cards/table number DIYs that I have seen! Good luck to you! (here is a picture of my inspiration of a table setting and someones wedding in the banquet room that I found online, but note they added a dance floor and different chairs)
  7. Table settings: I love your table setting! I am going to do something similar with the sand/candle and starfish:) Good to see it all put together nicely!
  8. I agree either have two MOH or you could go like me and have none lol. My BMs are my two sisters and best friend and could never choose between them! I think you should have your BM and MOH(s) be who you are close with and want to share the special time with and not look at it as who is helping more. Some people are better at planning and getting into the whole wedding thing than others.. Just some thoughts, in the end do what will make you happy:)
