I have Jacqueline as my WC and she has been great and quick to respond (usually about a week). When is your wedding? If it is not for awhile that could be why she isn't super quick. They have some many wedding that I'm sure they have to prioritize with the weddings that are first. Mine is a month away and have had plenty of time to plan the last several months. Try searching through this thread and the other Barcelo threads for questions you have. There is SO much helpful information and it will be a lot quicker than waiting for an email

Congrats on beginning your wedding planning! I live in Ft. Collins and am getting married in Riviera Maya in about a month (3/1/13)! It was very overwhelming in the beginning trying to decide on a resort that would fit our needs and our guests but you were smart in getting a travel agent, so helpful!! So weird because we were too thinking about the Dreams resorts and ending up choosing Barcelo:) In the end we chose Barcelo because it is child friendly (we have one couple bringing their kids) and the Dream are adult oriented, also Barcelo has three different hotels within the resort at different price points. From doing my research it seemed like Dreams Tulum is BEAUTIFUL and perfect for a wedding and Barcelo is a larger resort with plenty to keep your guests busy. So it just depends on what your looking for.. One thing I didn't do was research too much on the wedding packages before I picked a resort which was a big regret and didn't find this website until after I booked and you are right it is AWESOME and so helpful, especially when it can be hard to have quick communication with the wedding coordinators. Anyways good luck with everything and let me know if you have any questions about Barcelo or anything else: )

For past brides that have done OOT bags.. How did you distribute them? Did you do it yourself or did the hotel staff help? How did you do this when guests arrive on different days? We have about 30 guests so not too overwhelming to hand them out ourselves but thought it would be cute to have it waiting in their room for them.. Thanks!

I can totally understand why you are upset about your mother in law inviting people without asking you/you wanting them to come, especially if you are on a budget and had a limit. That is a tough one! The only thing I can say is if your guests are paying for their trips (hotel/air) to be at your wedding that it could be a lot to ask them not to bring a guest. Would they just have a single room? At least at our resort the single rooms were significantly more than the double rooms. I am just looking at it from the guest perspective and would want someone to share a room with and spend time with the rest of the vacation time. Hope it all works out and try not to stress too much

haha I dont know about that but THANK YOU! I admit I redid it like 4 times because I couldn't get it right but glad I did it myself because I couldnt find one that was what I was envisioning.

I haven't had experience with those ... I just bought 3 pack chapstick brand with spf at Walmart for about $2.50 per pack.

I am getting married 3/1/13 and will be arriving at the resort 2/26! My WC is also Jacqueline and I agree she is great:) Almost done with all of the planning and getting very excited! Congrats to you all!

I am also playing my iPod and not using a DJ. There is an app called weddingdj that is great..it organizes your songs in categories and fades in and out. We are also having a friend be the "MC". Just to help with the flow and announce dances and such. Our reception is going to be pretty laid back .. Here is our timeline: Entrance (he will announce) Dinner-toasts during dinner First dance Father daughter dance Mother son dance Dancing! Cutting cake

Great idea! I was thinking I needed to give them something the day before or day of the wedding but I think they would really appreciate the photo album. Maybe we will just do very nice handmade cards for the wedding day:)

Yea this was what I was wanting to do too. Or with the quote "Today a bride, tomorrow a wife, forever your little girl" to give to both parents. There are some on Etsy (like this one), but think they are kinda of expensive ($70) and don't really love it. Thinking about making it myself...

Has anyone done something for their parents while on the trip? I was thinking about a resort credit for massage or activity or a dinner cruise...but would hate to do that and them not really want to use it:/ Has anyone made or purchased a picture frame/wall hanging with a cute quote? I have seen some online but none I love...

What is everyone getting as a gift for your parents and fiances parents? I am having a hard time with this because my mom is not a jewelry person or likes typical "girly" things. My parents in general are hard to get gifts for! Any and all ideas would be great Thanks!

I made my bracelet still deciding if I like this..guestbook, they will sign over the top then we will frame and hang a decorative touch for the ceremony table we will get married in front of (ribbon garland) BM swimsuit coverup. One of their gifts that we will also wear while getting ready on the big day makeup bag. another BM gift BM jewerly. Matching Silpada earrings and each necklace is slightly different AHR outfit. In the process of making a fun belt.. simple cake topper I made plastic dollar tree tumbler with personalized stickers via davet design (etsy)
