    firery nurse, Did you use the non-religious officiant? Did he just have something he had prepared or did you give him a script? My WC said she didn't have a copy of what he normally says so it kinda makes me nervous to just show up that day and not now what is going to be said (I'm a planner haha). Did you write your own vows? thanks!

    The disco is free (included in the all inclusive). I think you can even get free or discounted VIP access with your wedding package.

    I am getting married March 1st (crazy how fast it goes!) and am also doing the mint breeze package. I am using Juan Navarro for our photographer as well. It was worth it to pay the fee for me because photography is really important to us and did not like the resort photography at all. We skipped on other expenses like a huppa or arch at the ceremony and DJ.. I looked at it as the pictures will last forever and everything else is for 20 mins to a few hours! But like fireynurse said, its what is important to you! We have 31 guests and I think it will be just enough to have a fun reception. We are doing all the traditional dances, cutting the cake and dancing. The only things we are not doing is garter & bouquet toss, mostly because I am not really a fan and there are like 6 single people coming lol. We plan to continue the party at the "disco" or wherever at the hotel after the 3 hour reception (I have read many other brides doing that on here). I am bringing my own candles, starfish, and ribbon for my centerpieces and renting vases from the resort ($7 per vase). Wasn't worth the packing and likely breaking to bring my own. Here is a picture (minus the sand).. I think a lot of brides bring their own decorations because it can be spendy to use the resorts. I also have a color scheme that I am not sure they had so I choose to go white for the sashes and such. Good luck with everything!

    My wedding coordinator is Jacqueline. Congrats on your wedding day being so close! From what I was told/understand is that the only thing you have to pay cash for is the officiant or resort fee (for an outside photographer). I would clarify it with your WC. Everything I am giving my BMs was DIY or cheap beside the jewelry:) Good luck with everything!

    wow that really sucks that people would invite their friends that you didnt invite...that is a lot different than bringing a guest to room with! no would ever do that st a non-DW! either way your day will be beautiful and perfect and I guess at this point you just have to try to ignore it and not let it ruin your day:/

    Let me clarify.. The wedding packages are the same price no matter which Barcelo resort you stay at (except for possibly using the gazebo)

    We are staying at the Palace. One of the big reasons we originally chose Barcelo was because guests could stay at any of the three resorts and choose their price point...but in the end everyone decided to stay at the Palace lol! I think all the wedding packages are the same prices but I thought I read somewhere there was extra charges if you have your ceremony at the gazebo at the Palace and have guests staying at one of the lower Barcelos... I think Barcelo is the way to go for larger groups. My experience has been great so far. Planning started out a little slow (took a couple weeks for a response) and some times I have had to ask the same question twice but I think this is mostly due to the language barrier. Jacqueline is my wedding coordinator and she has been great. They send you an excel spreadsheet that has all the planning and you fill it out in sections, so easy! The only negatives I can say (which this could be the same at other resorts) is I thought the price difference in packages to have an outdoor/beach reception was ridiculous! Also, the resort photographer does not look very good and they charge a $500 outside vendor fee if you use someone else. Feel free to ask me an other questions you have and best wishes to you too!
