    I am still at the early stages of planning and dont really know how all this works when picking songs for the reception and ceremony do i just get a list together or do i have to bring my ipod/or CD with the songs? anyone know? I will be having a DJ at the reception.

    I agree We are doing th same thing, we went back and forth but with the cost we are getting married at home and having a religious symbolic ceremony in DR. its the most affordable plus no one has to know unless you tell them.

    thats awesome!! 120 is not bad at all I am having to pay 200 at the Riu Bavaro for an outside vendor fee!!

    I contacted pastor York directly and he is available he also said 350 and to just pay him the day of the ceremony !!

    Thanks so much that is very helpful, also which package did you choose? I having about 35 people I am unsure if i should go with the Free package or the Royal i dont see a lot of difference besides the free gifts and massage is it worth it do the free and spend the extra on the upgrades or do the Royal? any thoughts?

    I am looking at having a symbolic wedding at the Riu Palace Bavaro and want to have Pastor York do the ceremony, anyone know what Riu charges to have him there.

    @monicak thanks for sharing what you posted is exactly what I want !! The 600 for the reception did that just cover the rental of the restaurant or food as well? Also did you have the premium bar or just beer and wine that they serve? Sorry for the questions it's hard to get an answer and when they send me information it's not in English

    WOW thats great my TA said it would be about 730 for 5 nights a person. Are you having a reception? I just booked the resort for my wedding but now sure what to to for the reception it comes with semi private, do you know how that works ? or are you doing the private?

    thanks for the input i am torn between the Melia , Riu Palace Bavaro or the Hard Rock. Like you its hit or miss i keep reading good and bad reviews its hard to make a choice. I am also wanting stress free and so far lol it doesnt seem so stress free. Will be making a decision this week once i recieve the quotes thanks again for the input its been very helpful.

    I am looking at doing Bubba Kegs as part of the welcome bags for our guest anyone know where i can get the best deal i will need about 50 of them. Wedding is not til next summer tryng to be proactive !! Any help is appreciated ! Thanks
