  1. Yes! Do it! Best decision we ever made was picking Iberostar Ensenachos. I will admit, the emails back and forth with the wedding coordinators can leave you feeling overwhelmed/stressed, but it will be worth it in the end. When you get there, you sit down with them and talk about everything to make sure you're on the same page and then you do a tour of the ceremony location, restaurant and reception area. We had our wedding down at the little private beach near when you can borrow boats - it was great because there was no one walking or sunbathing near us. We had our dinner at a seafood restaurant right next to that (with a spectacular ocean view) and had surf and turf which was to die for. Everything about our week was fantastic, with 23 people in our party, including a 4 year old boy. We all enjoyed it so much, the whole group is planning to return together next spring! I'll post some photos but feel free to ask me questions - everything was great!
  2. Hi ladies, our wedding at IE was AMAZING! I am busy at work today but if you want to post your email or send it to [email protected], I will send you some pics and a write up about how it all went! Best trip of our lives and our guests had so much fun we are planning a group trip back next year!
  3. It definitely wasn't that hard! Just make sure you have a helper handy - you run out of fingers and hands I've seen some really ugly flowers in Cuban wedding pictures, so I wanted to make sure I got what I had envisioned!
  4. Thanks! My bridesmaids dresses are fuschia and I wanted something really different for my bouquet My wedding has just started to feel like it's going to happen. We booked it in July 2012...so it's been 9 months already! I'm not a big planner...have lots left to do, so I wouldn't be much of someone to post advice haha! I will definitely post pictures, lessons learned and feedback about our airline and resort!
  5. Yes! I made them with my sister-in-law and mother-in-law who are both pretty crafty (I am not). It wasn't that hard though. I had found similar ones online but they were very expensive. We got the flowers at Michaels craft store (usually $8 each but I got them half-price). We also got the ribbons at Michaels. We found florist tape (really sticky stuff) at a dollar store and wrapped the stems together really tightly before gluing the ribbons to them. I'm also going to add a charm to my bouquet of my grandparents on their wedding day because they cannot be with us at the wedding. We leave two weeks from today and I am SO excited!
  6. Thanks! We've gotten so much great feedback. I have the sledding one blown up in my office and get compliments every day. We are bringing the same photographer to Cuba with us in two weeks for the wedding so we have lots more great shots to look forward to!
  7. Wow thank you so much for the review...it's a huge help! I am getting married there in less than three weeks and also around the same time as Corra14. I will definitely take your advice about doing the hair appointments early Overall did you find Yennys and Yoanka helpful? It's hard to tell through emails sometimes! I saw a review on TripAdvisor by a groom's mother that said they didn't help with much. Where did you do your dinner? We've booked the Asian restaurant for our wedding dinner for our 25 guests. We're told it will be re-opening after renovations just before we arrive on March 28. We are bringing a photographer who is a friend, but were interested in the video package so hearing that you're happy with the results is very reassuring. Your cake was very pretty - I wasn't sure what to expect. We made silk flower bouquets for the wedding as I have an exact look I wanted. Are there any other tips you would suggest to a laid back but slightly nervous bride?
  8. My fiancé and I are getting married April 1, 2013 at Iberostar Ensenachos with about 25 of our friends and family. For our engagement shoot, we wanted to represent our normal life in the winter. We have a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy (he's only 8 months old, but giant) who is obsesses with snow, so he was a major part of our photos. We are very low key people so we wanted photos that represent who we are - down to earth nature lovers. We think it will be neat to have snow and beach photos! I'd love to hear what you ladies think! I found the hand and paw idea on Pinterest and it's one of our favourites!
  9. Hi! We are getting married at this hotel on April 1! I would love to hear about your experience, because as you ladies have said, it's hard to get details!
  10. Hi ladies, I have booked my wedding for April 1, 2013 at Iberostar Ensenachos as well! Congrats! A co-worker of mine stayed there last year and said it was the nicest resort he's ever been to, with great food and service and spectacular beaches! I was also in contact with a photographer who shot a wedding there this spring and she said the bride had a great experience planning the wedding. We should add each other to facebook or something so we can share our experiences as we plan!! My name is Jackie Thomas from New Brunswick, Canada and my profile picture is of me with a puppy and an old man. I'd love to talk to you gals!
  11. Hi Courtney, I'm looking at this resort as an option for our wedding next spring and have a few questions. Would you mind answering some via email - [email protected]. Thanks!
