  1. Brownskin, I'm on top of it! it was Trivera, I did order the dress again from where she did. It was Babyonline, I will keep you girls updated!! I'm confident. Worst comes Worst, I already got in contact with the bridal shop and was assured with 11 months left, I have enough time.
  2. Uhura, I'm considering it! But at that point, i would have spent the same as the cost of the original. I've heard great things about babyonline and I should've went with my instinct but of course I listened to Mom and went with bingbridal. Lets pray Sunny can pull it off for me but the Bridezilla in me is saying screw it all, I will forgo the photographer for the dress!!! LOL
  3. So girls, the dress I ordered from DHGATE seller: bingbridal came in and it is soo wrong, i almost second guessed my dress!!!! It is a well made dress (even had the built in bra strap , but the ruffles are all wrong on this dress, it makes me look shorter and stockier than i am (5ft at 110lbs) no reason I should look like i'm 4"8!!!! I have requested a partial refund from bingbridal, i will let you girls know if that happens. I have ordered the dress from babyonline. If Sunny happens to disappoint me, I will just suck it up and get the original dress which I cried in. Here is me in the original Here is the dress bingbridal made. Excuse the mess. The entire reason I went with them was b/c of their actual image of a replica they made based on the Allure 8862. This is no where near close.
  4. For my fellow Tangerine Sunset package brides who are not having the cocktail hour and considering playing their own music for the ceremony, any ideas on how to use the musical trio included in our package? Think they won't mind making their way over to the Carey bar where I would have my guests wait while we're taking photos and until the reception starts?
  5. McColonial I'm getting married in Punta Cana March 2014. I will let you know a lot of us Punta Cana brides are doing the symbolic ceremony as there is only one judge in the area performing ceremonies for all of the resorts in that area. Symbolic was just easier and the ceremony time is guaranteed. Having a civil ceremony requires you to be flexible on your ceremony time as it depends on when the judge is available.
  6. MissKay, A lot of us are having symbolic ceremonies for this reason. There is only one judge for the Punta Cana area performing all of the legal ceremonies for the resorts, if I'm not mistaken and they have to check with the judge's schedule to fit you in and it will most likely not be the time you want. It will be when the judge is available that day. This will happen with any of the other wedding coordinators as far as taking a while to get back to you.
  7. WOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! That ish better not change by next March b/c i will become Bridezilla!!!!!!!!!
  8. I think you should send out a postcard with the updated TA info. I had the same issue with destinationweddings.com, I didn't like the jacked up room quotes I was getting and the TA basically told me i had to deal with it as my wedding is peak season in DR but I'm from DR and I know for a fact it won't be peak season there in 2014 as the Holy Week is in April. I was ready to print out our passport invites with that TA's info but I might not use any TA at this point!
  9. So it would be smart to count all of the kids as extras outside the package instead of the adults. Just a thought, but wonder if they're smart enough to catch on lol
  10. It's fine let them use whatever system they want, i'm bringing an ihome cued with the 2 songs I need. It's absolutely fine, I don't need a microphone and I don't need them to screw it up trying to cue the thing.
  11. Trivera, are you using the Ihome with a mic? I don't understand, if i don't ask for the sound system, exactly how will Susana perform the ceremony anyway?? Is she going to be yelling so my family can hear her?? LOL
  12. Guess I need to make a list of things I need to ask her for when I meet with her. Has anyone ever just brought their own sound system like an Ihome or something? I would assume an Ihome would be fine for the pier but what do I know?
  13. Yes, this is exactly why i decided to try Dhgate. Almost everything is made in China anyway. My dress has arrived at the airport but hasn't made its way over to me. Hopefully I'll have it by the end of the week.
  14. Has anyone ever gotten the question answered on using a sound system for the ceremony? How much are they price gouging on that? I'm not sure I want to use the trio while I walk down the aisle unless they know how to play "Ava Maria" or "Halo" (instrumental versions) both by Beyonce? LOL ay yi yi
  15. LOL @ Tamara on Susana's shit list. I'll be on that list myself. I'm hoping to hide the bitchy bride in me until I'm already there tho lol
  16. I am waiting to hear back from a connect who works in the travel industry in Punta Cana, thanks to my aunt about perhaps getting the room quotes for me. If they think it's for locals, they lower the prices tremendously. I'll let you know if I have any luck. If I don't, i will just tell everyone to book wherever they can. I don't need the added on stress.
  17. I saw the video and she is another Allure bride! haha gosh us girls really do think a like!!!
  18. reign I'm done in December also! and we're both March brides! I'm hoping the prices right now scare a few people from coming to stay under budget. I'm doing everything I can bc in the summer I'm more focused on my beach time lol. Thanks Natalie, that's a brilliant idea and a lot easier! on another note, my dress is getting shipped today. hopefully it's everything I ever hoped for.
  19. It depends on which airline you end up using. It's usually around $55
  20. Tamara, you don't have a nice dj friend accompanying you on the trip? My mom is telling me not to worry about it lol. She's like worst comes to worst, we'll just have a playlist if they decide to get crazy. You still have a chance to find someone in the local area that isn't so widely known. It's ridiculous that BBPD would do that but I guess it's to be fair to every bride. It certainly isn't fair that one bride got away with it and now we are getting the short end of the stick. I thought of the table numbers and seating chart b/c since Shemel is from St. Vincent & The Grenadines, we thought of naming the tables after each Grenadine to incorporate his island. I'll see. Girl please, I took almost 2 years off from grad school so I certainly can't stop now. So I know what you mean. My fiance keeps telling me to focus on just school but there's way too much to do for this wedding!!!
  21. Girls I have a question. I'm way ahead of the game because while I have 11 months left, I'm in my last year of grad school so you can pretty much subtract 5 months from the countdown. For the reception, is it necessary to have a seating chart or escort cards? Is this something I need to worry about? What have past brides done? Let me know! Thanks
