  1. I got all my bouquet info from the WC at the GBPJ. They sent me the catalogue they use from Tai Flora. There were about 20 or so bouquets that are generally included in the package that you can choose from. I'm getting blue orchids with white roses and lillies, and for the "larger" bouquet upgrade it was $113.

Down the aisle to the Gazebo/on beach 18. Song to walk down the aisle to: For the Disney Princesses out there (like me) I'm walking down to an instrumental of Beauty & The Beast. We're doing a Champagne toast immediately after, so maybe play music then? No real exit. 20. Will you/did you have a solemn ceremony or a light one? Mostly light, with some tear jerking moments. 21. 3. I don't know how much time they actually require, if you are upgrading your flowers. Honestly, I can imagine, maybe a week? Maybe no time at all (your onsite meeting.) They sent me the TaiFlora catalogue, told me which bouquets were included... I already knew what I wanted, they have it in their catalogue but it's an upgrade. I told them at that time (Probably September last year...) that those were my flowers for me and my bridesmaids. I highly doubt you need to give them a years notice... but I figured, I won't be changing my mind, might as well tell them now.
  4. I have been looking for the stick man template forever. I'm starting to think it's a figment of my imagination.... I WANTTTT... Sorry, I'm whiny.
  5. OMG! You have no idea how much money you just saved me!! Shipping to Canada is awful... these transfers, even with shipping are like a 1/3 of the price! Yay!!!!
  6. Hi Dina. Other things I am currently working on are: Guest Book (I'm making a photobook with little envelopes where people can stick there well wishes) Centrepieces (I'm CRAZY, and I'm bring down little vases, and will put floating candles with shells and turquoise stones in...) OOT Bags - Of course! That's ongoing. Welcome brochure for OOT bag - hello Vistaprint. Ceremony script - I wrote our own, as I heard the script my resort uses is highly religious Vows - will have to do Fiance's wedding band - have to find it, buy it, get it engraved Wedding day shoes - important for dress fittings. I JUST found mine last Sunday. My bridemaid dresses are ordered, My fiance won't let me pick his/groomsmen attire. He knows what I want, but he's taking care of it... apparently. Umm.... There's more. There's always more! Haha. OH - Music list. for your ceremony, dinner and reception. See!! And Cake topper! I might get a personalized one - haven't decided yet. There's always more! Lol.
  7. Congrats! It's definitely one of the biggest steps in the process you will take... Have you sent STD's? Or are you doing invites? I'm getting marrie din November, and I sent out my invites about a month ago, requesting them back in June (to ease my stress.) Have you gone dress shopping? I would do that, as ordering from a bridal shop can take anywhere from 4-8 months for your dress to come in. Are you having a bridal party? Now's a good time to ask them - and then you'll have some helpers, and an ear to listen to all your ideas. Get some of the other "big things" out of the way.
  8. Hi acw, My colours are strongly turquoise, with accents of "sand" and deep purple. I imagine my flower girl to be in a white dress with turquoise accents.
  9. WOW! Where is THAT? I could only assume that is to book a building/space that would otherwise be used... I also have booked the "dancing area"... which is actually the GAZEBO we get married at... and the DJ for 2 hours for $500. I'm curious WHERE in the resort you have been quoted. I would assume for that price, it's like the resort Lobby or something...
  10. I ordered my "Adara" dress at the end of January. They told me to expect it at the end of July. I'm really excited. I'm not much of a crier, generally... but I actually started to tear up befor eI even got out of the dressing room to show my "group." It was pretty telling that that was my dress. I haven't seen my dress in like 5 months (I held off on ordering too early...) and I have zero dress remorse. I still love my dress.
  11. My wedding is November 15th. We're there from the 9-16th, so I'll see ya there!
  12. I'm walking down the aisle to an instrumental version of "Beauty & the Beast" ... It's instrumental! No words!! My man's not a beast! It's a beautiful song, and really suits me and who I am.
  13. Min eisn't quite 16... mine is every 21st person gets a free trip (which I'm pretty sure is JUST the flight, and not accommodation)....I booked with Transat holidays.
  14. About the flowers... I was sent by the WC at the resort a "book" (pdf) of all the availble bouqets. There was almost 150 different ones to choose from, and I think the first 40 or so could be included in your wedding package price. I'm paying extra as I knew exactly what I wanted, and to my surprise they had it!! It may be silly, but paying extra for the flowers I always wanted wasn't even a question in my mind.
  15. Out-of-Town Bags. Some goodies for your wedding guests who travel for your wedding... Very common for destination weddings.
  16. I only have 2 (MOH, BM) coming to my wedding. I am buying both their dresses which is $200. They are buying their shoes, and paying for hair & makeup (which I've already booked Rashel Edwards in Jamaica.) And I'm buying them earrings. They just don't know it yet. So it looks like about $500-600 total... not including the goodies in their OOT bags. Adds up....
  17. Only 255 days until my wedding!!! Lol.... Since I started my new job... I haven't had all that much time for my wedding planning... Thankfully I plan things way ahead of time, so I have no stress right now, even though it feels like I still have a million things to do. I wish there were better timelines for destination brides. I need something to tell me when to get my butt in gear. Still need to write the ceremony script, and vows... and ask a family friend to be our unofficial officiant. Haha! Centerpieces, flower girl dress decision (might have it made. My little cousin is so cute!), OOT bags, welcome brochure... Groom/smen outfits. Groom's RING!! (Haven't even looked yet... AHH!) Oh, etc etc.... With 8 1/2 months to go... when would you say I should have some of these things completed?!
  18. I think I'm going to make a brochure, but only for my OOT bags... Because I'm only expecting/inviting 20-ish couples... I can stay in contact with anything vital by email... My wedding is at the end of the trip, so all the wedding details will be in the brochure in the OOT bags I'll be giving during my "welcome dinner" on Day 2.
  19. Yea, I was also going to suggest, the jewel magnet weights you can find....
  20. She charges $70 for hair, $70 for make up. She is a vendor, and does not work at the resort. Many brides have said they did not pay the vendor fee, as Rashel comes to your room to do your hair and make up... as long as you are in fact having your wedding at the resort (not off site.)... Correct me if I've missed something....? I have heard that the resort have charged/tried to charge $200 for Rashel's services on site....
  21. ETSY! I've found several options on etsy for starfish shoe clips. I decided on the "bling" ones (rather than bead or whatnot)... I just want to find my shoes before I buy them. Etsy is dangerous! There's so much there. I made my first purchase the other day: embroidered hankerchiefs. One for my Mom, my FMIL and my Flower Girl. They are so cute, I can't wait to receive them. They've already been shipped. I'm also pretty sure I'm going to be buying shirts for the bridal party/close family. I haven't decided if I should specify (MOH, Bridesmaid, MOB, MOG, etc...) or just do "Bride's Entourage"... But I still have time for that. I have lots on the go, and nothing complete. Ha ha!! I'm going to be really into it come the summer. I don't want to wait last minute to get things done. I'm a planner....
  22. Hey, My dress will be arriving by late July, which leaves just enough time for alterations. I picked my Bridesmaid dresses. I only have 2, and both were pretty easy going about my "vision." My OOT bags were one of the first things I started. I got a wicked deal on Vistaprint, so I bought my bags there... I've been spending a lot more time browsing Dollar stores for travel items. And my FMIL works in a medical office, so she's been able to get me some goodies (Aveeno moisterizers, tylenols, etc...) I just keep my eyes open everywhere I go. I'm still on the fence about a veil too... But I don't know if I'll have anything in my hair. My dress also has some bling, so I think I might do some dangly earrings and maybe a bling tiara/headband of some kind? I don't know. Definitely wearing my hair up though. I know exactly what I want for shoes, but haven't found them yet. I want a turquoise satin peep toe pump (just for cerremony and pictures.) and I'm going to buy bling'd starfish shoe clips. I've also been trying to figure out my centerpieces. I'm worried about travelling with vases, but think it's possible in ym carry on (And my brother's carry on.) Haha!
  23. I received my confirmation from Rashel Edwards for hair and makeup!! I'm pretty excited about that. She's booked November 15th!! Still 9 months to go for me!!
  24. @Cherri Dpends on what time you want your ceremoney... I think I've seen another bride on here somewhere who is also getting married at the Gran Bahia on 11/12/13. I emailed the wedding coordinators at the resort and requested if the date was available. When I got the okay, I reserved my date and time, and proceeded with arranging the trip with my TA. We are going to do the legal paperwork here at home. Although the paperwork/process in Jamaica is far less of a hassle then some of the other islands. I think the resort is 1hour-1 1/2 hours away from the Montego Bay airport. But I'm sure it's good times on the bus if you are going with your wedding party.
