Iperraton: asposeep is correct. If your photographer is staying at the hotel, you do not have to pay the vendor fee. But I also wouldn't broadcast it to anyone. Your wedding coordinator will ask you once you arrive and have your meeting. Then you can tell her you didn't "hire" a photographer but that one of your guests is going to take photos. -

So excited for y'all!!!! Getting married the day after Cinco de mayo!!! We got married May 9 of this year and arrived the day before cinco de mayo. You can see our photos on www.facebook.com/rollergirl80

Anne, Try not to get frustrated. I kept it simple. After stressing for months about how to budget all the vendor fees, I finally found Blue Lens photography who deducted the $800 vendor fee from my package, since I chose the Royal Photography package....pics and video were the most important to me. Then, I decided not to use a DJ at all and just rent the amp & microphone for $250. I was extremely happy with my decision. I chose the chicken & veggies plate for my reception. It was only $14 per person. My thought process was, "why pay all this money for ONE dinner when the resort is all inclusive?" If someone wants something different to eat, eat before you come to the wedding or after the wedding. There are TONS of choices that are already paid for AND they have 24 hour room service. We even brought our own decor and had them decorate. I was extremely happy with everything and their willingness to work with me. All the negotiations made before we arrived were basically a waste of time. Everything truly happens once you arrive and meet with the Wedding Coordinators. Good luck! Try not to stress!! You will regret worrying!!!! I PROMISE!! I still kick myself for stressing! It was truly a fairytale and everything ended up perfect!!

I hired Niccolo with Blue Lens photography and I was EXTREMELY pleased! They were willing to take the $800 vendor fee off my package! I paid the $800 vendor fee and the photographer took $800 off my package! Something to think about! Pictures are the last place you want to "skimp".

I agree with girltravel 77....all of our guests (old, young, single, married) wanted to stay longer! We love the small, quaint, boutique resorts. We have visited Mexico numerous times, we love to vacation there and we fell in love with Azul Beach in August of 2012 and decided to get married there. Our wedding was May 9, 2013. All of our guests noticed how well behaved what few children were there. You MIGHT hear one or two kids cry for a brief second, normally at breakfast, but if you hear a child whine or cry, it truly only lasts a second. Obviously the children are happy to be on vacation and the parents obviously spend lots of time with them to take them on vacation with them so they are typically VERY well behaved children. Not an issue at all for us! And I was VERY concerned about it being a kid friendly resort.

I agree with girltravel77 and Kaela! We are till at our honeymoon location but cannot quit missing ABH!!! We visited last August and everyone remembered us when we arrived last week for our second trip to ABH for our wedding! the staff is like family to us! Our wedding was amazing! All 45 of our guests said it was the best vacation they had ever taken and some of our friends are no "strangers to complaining" either which was such a relief to know everyone was having a blast!! We had a few minor hiccups but it was our fault as well, because we didn't give as many details as we should have but we were "lost in the moment" and having so much fun with our family and friends that we totally forget several small details. Lol we didn't hire a DJ, just rented the amplifier and had a family member play our dance songs but he played the wrong song. Lol but it was no biggie. No one even noticed. A+++ for the resort, staff and wedding coordinators!!! They made my dream wedding come true!!

On the plane to Mexico! Wedding dress is in the overhead compartment, laid out flat! Whewww!! Relieved!!!!

Thank you!!!! I plan to take a large tote/purse and my dress. We have 6 other family and friends on our flight so I pray that we are able to use the overhead bin WITHOUT having to fold it! I love the idea of sending my wedding dress home with someone else!! My family and friends are going to kill me! LOL
