Yes. Also, Photophil is $2600. I made a mistake.. IDK why I remembered $2100. What hotel are you staying at? And what are you doing at the hotel that you will have outside vendor fees? -

Ok, I sent you pricing info for Photophil, HDC and Caribbean Emotions.d there is a recent post with a bunch of other photog suggestions, too. Here are some: A Capture by Karina Charity Swords Photography www.jamiedimitry.com http://weddingphotographypuntacana.wordpress.com/2013/07/03/lediana-david-sanctuary-cap-cana/ asiapimentel.com And someone in the group said that they told Katya what their budget was and how many hours they wanted and she worked with them, but I will say that she is probably over the $2k budget even at her shortest package. -

I used [email protected] (On 7/22) - which they gave me over the phone when I called. I also used [email protected] twice (once on 7/21 once on 7/18). Apparently, I'm annoying, but not annoying enough lol. It's been 10 days and nothing from them. Honestly, this has been so much stress - among other stress - I'm just seriously considering a Paris Elopement or something. -

Kayte is out of your budget. Photophil charges about $2100 for a full 12 hours. Perhaps you can work with him to cut it down, so you can afford a videographer, too. Try Caribbean Emotions or HDC - they're both more affordable. I can fwd you their info if you PM me your email. -

Yup, joined! But there isn't one for Huracan and I'm hoping they have a better date for me since my fiance is really against having it on a Monday. What is your budget? I've contacted quite a few photogs already. -

Katya, please update us when you start a Huracan thread! I saw one wedding that you did there, but if you have more than that one (Alexandra and Tyler), please let me know so I can see some more. I called them up and emailed Giacomo Zatti, but I am still waiting to hear back. I am really hoping for a June 29 date... thanks! -

Ok ladies, I called Huracan Cafe today. Apparently, they are like fresh off the boat Italians and barely speak English. I got a different email address from them and sent them an email asking for pricing and availability. My fiance is very against a Monday wedding, so I'm going to see how much Huracan is and if they're available June 29. I know Katya recommended Huracan, but has anyone else heard anything about them? I would like to speak to a past bride or other brides who are planning it -

lol I think she made a typo, it's probably 2014. So I spoke to my fiance about having it on that Monday and he doesn't like the idea. I emailed Huracan cafe on Thursday and again last night to see if they have June 29 available. In the meantime, she sent me the bank info to put a deposit, but did not tell me how much the deposit was lol. I feel so bad for how busy she is, she needs an assistant! -

She emailed me back and is holding June 30 open for me! It's a Monday, so tomorrow I will ask my family and my fiance's family about it. It means people will have to take both Monday and Tuesday off from work. That Friday is July 4th, so it's a short week anyway, so hopefully it's not that big of a deal. All the group discounts are 3-night minimum stays anyway, so unless people intended to fly in late Friday after work and leave sometime on Monday, that would be the only way they could take only 1 day off instead of 2. I know a lot of my friends plan on extending and I think my family and his will, too. So, I guess it really won't be a problem for most people. Now to just confirm with family members and finalize it with her and photographers. -

I'm really going to lose my mind if I don't hear back from Mayte soon. My fiance is going tomorrow to buy me a calling card so that I can call her lol I hope calling her is easier than emailing! I just want to put a deposit down on a date! -
Thank you everyone for your responses. I have narrowed it down to Punta Cana - I'm looking at June 27-July 6, 2014. I think the AIs are extremely affordable and since you really have to pay extra for everything you add on at the all-inclusive, I've decided to have it at another location, off-resort. It seems extremely weird that I'm doing it this way, since I can juts do it in NY at a restaurant, but the feel is completely different. I want a beach party in paradise, and this is exactly what I can get at Punta Cana. I'm waiting to hear back from both the restaurants I'm considering and will let you know how it goes! Thanks again!

I've only ever read good things about Pastor York, but I actually want a nondenominational (and probably just a symbolic) wedding and I'm probably going to have a friend officiate (though we cannot decide who). This looks like a video that has the entire ceremony recorded (starts just before min 4): -

Thanks ladies, someone sent me the info - I really appreciate it. That's a good question - $7 each way or $7 for the night? I saw on the list that it said the bride gets separate transportation, which I am really excited about. Which photog is everyone using? I'm so excited, it's like 95% certain that we'll be booking our wedding at Jellyfish - it's exactly what my fiance and I wanted in a wedding! I just hope it's not overbudget. I think you can do it at any budget really since there are so many options, but I want to add everything! lol -

Do we have the most updated prices, then - if not for 2014? I just want to know if it's possible to be in my budget or not. Thanks! -

Hello, ladies! Anyone have an up-to-date pricing list for 2014 they can post (if it's not against the TOS)? Thanks! Just waiting to hear back from Jellyfish. -
I'm looking to have my wedding June 27-29 or Dec 27-29, 2014. Please tell me what your wedding date is, which resort you chose and how much your guests are paying to stay at the hotel (per couple, per night prices please). I'd really like to keep it to under $300 per couple for June or under $400 per couple for Dec. Is that reasonable? Thanks!

2013 Paradisus Palma Real
shaeshae18 replied to erica12's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
THANKS!! I was looking into Majestic Elegance/Colonial as well. I will keep researching, I haven't booked anything yet! -
Hey ladies, I'm back and putting planning on full force. I'm not considering Dec 28 or 29, 2014. I know it's high season, between Xmas and NYE, but I think the weather would be better and a lot of my friends would have an easier time getting off from work or going on a vacation. I'm looking at Punta Cana in DR. Puerto Rico - we have a few friends and family members who went to PR and did not like their time there, said that the beaches weren't great. :/ I feel like I'm still at square 1 - I hope the rest of the stuff is a lot easier from here!! Picking the right venue is so stressful!

Oh no!! Really? It has such great reviews. I wish more ladies would post reviews on the reviews section of this site, bc it has like 92% good reviews or something. Have you been to any other resorts in the DR that you would recommend? -
How Did You Decide On Your Venue??
shaeshae18 replied to shaeshae18's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
I forgot to mention that I'm getting married in 2014, I don't want the weather to be too hot, so I'm thinking the weekend after Christmas 2014, right before NYE. I understand this is high season, though. -
I'm pretty set on a DW at an AI, most likely in the DR or Cancun. I'm just wondering how you guys narrowed down which resort you chose for the venue?? I'm looking for something that would both be luxurious and affordable for my guests. We cannot do adults-only, we will have children there. I'm hoping for something that is around $250-300/night per couple. Also, it HAS to have good food. That's my number 1 concern, other than it looking pretty lol - I want my guests to enjoy the food both during my wedding and during their stays. I want the ceremony on the beach and likely do a dinner at one of the restaurants (to save money) and then have a 2-3 hour party afterwards (dancing, cake, etc). Our wedding budget is about $15k, but that should include our (bride/groom) stay, as well. I'm really hoping to keep the wedding itself at $10k (including my bridal attire). I've been looking at Paradisus Palma Real, Majestic Elegance/Colonial, etc. Anyone have any suggestions for resorts that will be around that price that are not adults-only and what made you choose your resort (what did you like about that resort that was different from the other ones)? THANKS in advance, ladies!

Hello ladies! I was told to look into this resort now that I'm back to planning my DW. I'm thinking Dec 2014, the weekend after Christmas. I emailed for pricing, but haven't heard back yet - I'm just being impatient. Anyone care to forward me their packets that they've received for 2014? I'm trying to figure out how much it would cost my guests to stay at the resort, as well as how much my own wedding would cost. Thanks, S
