  1. Hi Kittyinheels, I haven't received my dress yet so I can't really comment on the quality of the fabric. However I have upgraded the materials to designer quality due to the fact that I could def tell the difference between designer vs premium in pictures. My dress is made of tulle and organza and Candy sent me lots of pictures of designer vs premium grade materials. The premium grade looked a lot heavier, stiffer and shinier than the designer grade and that's because it's mainly polyster. Comparatively the designer grade looked a lot softer and lighter due to its partial silk make up. So my opinion is upgrade the materials to designer. With regards to craftmanship, I think you can leave it at premium grade. They will keep working at the dress until you're happy with it.
  2. I always thought that choosing the veil would be the easy part! I originally ordered a single tier chapel length raw edge circular veil in their standard width. But FH is really set on doing the lifting of the veil, which means I need a blusher. I asked Candy if I could order a detachable blusher, which she said yes. She said the blusher will attach to the longer veil by a set of hidden buttons, which doesn't sound too bad. No mention of whether it actually comes with a comb. Also, after spending the whole day googling veils, I'm starting to think that their standard width is too narrow. Candy wrote me an email saying that I can increase it to a max of 3metres. So I think I might go for a Chelsea Clinton style veil and customise the sizes to: 108 inches wide 108 inch long bottom tier and 38 inch top tier blusher:
  3. Thanks 2012mrstobe, that's given me peace of mind BTW, has anyone ordered a veil from Jasmine's? What width did you order and did it come attached to a comb?
  4. Can you post pics? I would love to see what you're seeing. Were you happy with your mid production photos?
  5. I upgraded the fabric to designer grade (which is an extra 35%) and kept workmanship at premium grade. Including the sequins on the ruffles, a petticoat, chapel veil and shipping, it came to a total of $895. However, I paid via western union so got an extra $5% discount. Engbe, who ordered the same dress as me, did it all in premium grade without the sequins so hers was a lot cheaper. Do you know who the designer of your inspiration dress is Lillianm80? If so, I'd go to Jasmine's website and see what their prices are on theres. Otherwise, I'd send them an email and get them to quote you a price.
  6. Yay, i'm excited for you. It's a gorgeous dress and you can't go wrong with off-white.
  7. Gorgeous dress I have a question about how Jasmine's bridal shop pack and ship the dress, which hopefully you can help me with. It's hard to tell from the pics but I'm scared that the rosettes at the bottom of my dress will look limp from the way they tightly pack the dresses into bags. Did the rosettes on the bottom of the dress get squished or is it still volumous? Much appreciated if any other ladies who have ordered fuller skirts can provide me with their experiences.
  8. I haven't personally tried Vivian from ebay so I can't vouch for or against that seller. I think most brides here would recommend Jasmine's bridal shop but I guess it depends on your budget and how picky you are with the final product. I tried two other chinese dressmakers, and wasn't really happy with their results. But then again, I'm pretty picky. The first one was from a seller by the name of romanticweddinggown on dhgate . I had specific instructions for them to remove the flower from the dress and replace it with a brooch, which they did not do. They didn't send me any mid production photos or any correspondence after paying them. However, I only paid $120 for it and for that money, it was pretty good. However, the fabric was cheap looking (100% polyster) and there were a few flaws that I couldn't overlook. It also only looked about 60 per cent like the original and their measurements were a little off in terms of strap length. I find that a lot of chinese dress makers tend to make straps and necklines really high up The second seller I tried was on ebay by the name of world.a. Again, the fabric was cheap and nasty looking. Before ordering, I had asked them what the composition of their fabric was, and they had stated "we only use the highest quality fabrics" which is complete bulldust. My advice to you is to check with Vivian if she has made this dress before and whether she has real pictures of the dresses she has made. To me, it looks like a complex dress: 1) It looks like high quality duchess satin, and most ebay sellers use really thin satin 2) There's a lace and beading component, which may be difficult to replicate 3) The rouching and pleating has to be really precise Jasmine's bridal is a little pricier than other "knock off" places, but they are well worth it for piece of mind. It took me 2 years to find them.
  9. Yep, I ended up asking them to do an understated sweetheart neckline as I'm not a huge fan of the really round sweetheart necklines that they usually do. I also changed the ruching, which they did and here's the result. I'm really happy with it! Like many other brides on this forum, I highly recommend them. The only advice I have is to make sure to point out everything that you don't like with the mid production photos, no matter how minor it is. This is the third set of mid production photos they have sent me, which shows how accomodating they are.
  10. Hi Ladies, I need your help with my mid production photos. I've ordered the Vera wang gemma dress and they have sent me the below photo: To me, the top part doesn't look right. Should I request the following changes:
