  1. Jen -- I couldn't stop staring at the package list once I realized my $1,000 classic wedding was actually $2000 with the $400 weekend fee, and the $600 minister fee! I have everything mapped out on a spread sheet and those two little hidden gems threw me off course for a minute.
  2. On a completely separate note; I feel like I need a drink cause I just ordered my dress from dressilyme.com and I will have anxiety until it gets here! Even after reading all the awesome reviews and how there is nothing to worry about, I'm still worried! Anyone with experience with them who wants to remind me they are great is highly welcomed right now, lol
  3. Thanks Lucky, that does make sense! I've been trying to get a hold of my WC Liza but she isn't responding. I asked the hubby what he thought of having the best man do it last night and he did not really care for the idea (which I thought was odd since he is mr. frugal, lol). His exact words were "I don't want him to officiate, I want him to be my best man!" I tried to explain he could do both, but in the end I would rather him be happy and pay the extra $. There is one other person who might be able to do it, my MOH's husband but I don't know how he would feel about it. I don't know how well he does with public speaking and he is somewhat shy. I thought of having my mom do it, but then I started to feel like I'm grasping for people to do things when I should just pay for it. LOL, maybe I will just ask one of the street vendors to do it!
  4. Thanks! But to clarify my question; I read (I can't remember where) that for any outside officiant whether it be a friend or some random guy off the street, the Royal will waive the vendor fee? We have found a minister who is charging $250, and seems great! So even if they charge me the $350 vendor fee I'm still saving $100 but would love to know ahead of time what their "rule" is on the whole thing. Unfortunately we have such a small group coming with us there isn't really someone I'd be willing to ask to officiate other than the best man. Any advise on this would be great!
  5. Hi Ladies! I'm late getting to the board but definitely not late to planning! I just found this site about two weeks ago and have been glued to it ever since, lol. We are having our wedding (actually our 1 year anniversary) on October 19, 2012 at Royal Playa del Carmen! We are so excited, and it is starting to become real! I started planning in Jan 2011 so I already have most of our plans down, just getting final touches together. I was lucky enough to buy our airline tix the day they became avail and got us in first class for $1000 each. Look forward to planning with you ladies!
  6. Hi Everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself, I'm having my 1 year vow renewal (didn't have a wedding for the first go round) at the Royal! Reading through these boards and all of your input has been super helpful, that and two other brides who I've been blessed to have their help in planning! Thank you dniden and kellygrrrl! We are getting "married" on October 19, 2012 and are having our reception at Wickys. The last two weeks has been probably the most productive two weeks of planning since I was proposed to back in 2010. I am getting ready to order my dress from dressilyme.com, and am slowly bringing together our other vendors. Question, I saw somewhere that the Royal doesn't charge a vendor fee for a minister... can anyone confirm that? My contact at the resort, Liza, doesn't answer questions very quickly. Anyways, just thought I would say hey to everyone and I welcome any advice you want to throw my way!
  7. Hi Stacey00, Now that your wedding has come and gone, are there any words of advice for dressilyme? I am really thinking I'm going to order from them, my wedding is in 4 months and would love any advice you have to offer! Thanks!
  8. Is this dress still available? If it is, would you take less for it?
  9. If these are still available I would be interested in about 20 of each!
  10. Hi, I'm interested in your Do Not Disturb signs!
