  1. yes! gosh, i feel like i need to get started now on getting all of this stuff together! nice work!
  2. is anyone planning on getting some of the stuff for their OOT bags once they get down there? e.g., snacks -- it seems like it might be cute to get local snacks? i think that might ease some of the packing issues? but at the same time i have no idea what's really available near the resort
  3. yes, agreed, these are great! i definitely want to spend some time on the welcome brochure, and this is great for inspiration - thanks!
  4. i think if you had fuschia and/or orange as your colors (which i think generally look much better on all skin tones, esp fuschia), you can easily get lots of splashes of yellow in with flowers? lanterns?
  5. sorry not to be of help but i am having the same concern - just didn't expect so many people to say they were coming!!
  6. i say just go with the dress if you love it! so many people end up coming back to one of the first dresses that they found -- i guess it depends on how much you enjoy the whole trying-on-dresses process?
  7. has anyone considered doing a poster for their guest book? i just went to a wedding that had something like this: and then the traditional having guests sign the mat....i would love to do something like that with a personalized vintage-looking mexico travel poster, but i have no idea how to make that happen? any thoughts, or does an yone know of any vendors i could work with?
  8. i've been nervous about this issue, as well. i'm worried that just having the day pass info on the website isn't really enough to let people know because, let's face it, those websites get skimmed no matter how m uch time we put into them.
  9. this is a bit off-topic, but i was wondering where everyone is planning to do their honeymoon? we were thinking belize, but it turns out that to fly there from cancun it takes 8 hours because we'd have to fly back to miami first !? so now we're thinking of staying in the cancun/playa del carmen area. what is everyone else doing?

  11. i don't think there's really a disco place, but there's a tequila bar that stays open til 1am where wedding parties tend to go after the other bars close - after that i think it's pretty quiet
  12. sproullie designs has such cute stuff - i wish i had seen it before i ordered my save the dates!
  13. love it! i wish we could sneak our dog in our carry-on and bring him down with us. i also love the ring bearer pillow ideas!
  14. love the coral placeholders! i also love the escort "cards" that are in the little vials...so hard to choose!
  15. oh, and! i am a little concerned because there are some pretty strict guest limits on the different venues for the cocktail hours/etc (e.g., wave lounge can only be 55 people; chil beach can only be 60) -- i wish someone would have told me that when i was booking a wedding for 90 people? i'm hoping they can bend the rules. i really did not like the look of the ballroom...
  16. also, i should mention that they have a new wedding coordinator down at azul beach. she has only been there a month and has done nine weddings....i hope people end up liking her as much as the other ones....
  17. hi all - my fiance and i went to azul beach last weekend for a tasting, and all of the food we tried was SO good. if you're looking for options, we ended up deciding to go with the pick and choose dinner menu with the oven-baked cappellacci (for vegetarians - so good), miso-glazed salmon (which was seriously amazing; my fiance who usually doesn't eat any fish or meat was about ready to lick the plate), and then the seared filet mignon. for appetizers the tamarind vichysoisse (sp?) was really really good. as was the oaxacan chocolate mousse for dessert.
  18. Hi Ashley - let me check in with her first. I haven't actually told her that it's Doremixx (I only said that we wree bringing in an outside DJ), and now I'm sort of scared to address it....I might just play ignorant if it comes up down the road...if I get an official sign-off I'll certainly let you know
  19. I am probably going to bring down some decorations - maybe lanterns, sheers, chair sashes? I would probably have the resort set them up just to avoid the headache...from what I've read, they usually charge $5/pp to do that.
