Emily, Thank you for the advice! It seems like the resort gets booked up quick I am afraid that the date I want will be booked by the time I go on a site visit. In the mean time I will continue doing more research on the resort Thanks!

Hello ladies!!! My fiancé and I are at the beginning stages of planning for our July 2014 wedding. We have decided on the Gran Caribe Real/Royal based on pictures and reviews. The chapel is what sold me. I didn't want to set anything in stone until we did a site visit but won't be able to go until the summer (I don't think I can wait that long). However in really researching deeper and looking at ALL your posts/reviews/ pictures I am REALLY tempted in just booking without going there first. What do you ladies think? Did any of you book without doing a site visit??

Ktdawson, Thanks so much for the info. I did look at that thread and you are right that timeline is awesome!! It just sucks for me because my FI and I pretty much have everything mapped out from color scheme to bridal party to what package we want but I don't want to purchase anything or set anything in stone until I go on a site visit this summer Congrats and good luck to you too!!

Hello Brides!! Hope everyone had a great holiday! I have been engaged for about 6 months now and had not done any planning at all thinking it was too early (planning for July 2014 wedding). Well I finally decided to get the ball rolling and reached out to a TA. After reading tons of reviews on Wright Travel Agency I decided to reach out to them and received a response within a day from Wendy Hicks! It's been 3 days since our first email and so far she has been great! With her help, my fiancé and I believe we have found "THE" one!!!! We have decided on going with the Gran Caribe Real in Cancun! We have also decided on wedding colors as well! Soo now that I have really gotten the ball rolling I don't want to stop. I'm left asking myself "What do I do now?" I don't want to make a definite decision on the resort until I go on a site visit which won't be able to happen until July 2013. SOOO brides, what should I do now? Thoughts/Ideas?? Thanks!!! -Lori

So far my fiancé and I have decided on getting married in Cancun, Mexico sometime July 2014. I have already been in contact with a TA from Wright Travel Agency. Her name is Wendy and so far has been awesome with providing information and getting back to me quick. It looks like the resort I have set eyes on is The Gran Caribe Real in Cancun. Their oceanfront chapel is what really sold me. Has anyone ever been to this resort what are your thoughts? I'm planning a site visit sometime in June or July 2013. Hello All, I am planning a destination wedding for July 2014. My fiancé and I have not decided on a resort yet but know we want to get married in Mexico. HOWEVER, we are a bit concerned about safety. A friend shared with us their nightmare of their bus getting robbed on the way to the resort. When they went back to the airport, police officials said its something that had been happening lately. Has anyone heard of anything like this happening or do I have nothing to worry about. Thank you, -Lori
