  1. Wait until you send invites- talk about a no-going-back-now anxiety attack!
  2. I didn't either unitl I went shopping at 10 months out, and they told me I was cutting it close for some designers! Do it
  3. So... since I technically didn't create this, I can't take credit for it as a DIY (except I did print and fold it, so maybe it counts??), but it is too good not to share! Perfect for OOT bags if you're having you wedding in Mexico, and FREE! They're these great little pocket spanish language booklets. I found a free PDF download online (can't find the link now, but PM me if you can't download it in the attached and I would be happy to email it to you). I then printed it in color, two sided, folded along the lines, trimmed off one long edge with a paper cutter, and voila! Spanish_ToGo.pdf
  4. It just occured to me that some people can't download on here. I can't find the link to where I found this online, so if you want it, PM me your email address and I will send it to you!
  5. Ladies! I can do you one better! I found this free Spanish to Go download online. You just print the PDF two sided, and fold it into a little booklet. (Just trim off the one longer edge with a paper cutter after you've folded it). Voila! Free spanish books for your OOT bags - I've dont mine already and you can't even tell we didn't buy them! Spanish_ToGo.pdf
  6. They say you should buy them a minimum for six months before, and 9 months to a year is even better. Depending on the designer, it can take that long - mine took 6 months! I think you should go for it!
  7. Also, has anyone had a negative experience with the spa and their wedding hair/makeup? Trying to decide if I am good-to-go with just bringing pictures from my trial here and going for it day-of, or if I should do a trial there, a couple days before, as well. Everyone have good experiences only???
  8. What about the no t-shirt thing? I have heard mixed comments - some say you have to wear collared shirts, others have said nice t-shirts were allowed. What have your experiences been, ladies?
  9. Most of these resorts do SO many of these weddings each day, you can trust that you'll love what you end up with, visit or not! I did do a visit, which was great for determining the food (it was all really good, but we did pick a few things we initially weren't planning to) and the ceremony location. There were some beaches that were more in the public areas that I decided to avoid for the ceremony (to deter gawkers) that I could not tell locations of in pictures. That being said, if you just tell your coordinator what you're looking for, she should be able to get you exactly what you want!
  10. My wedding is Mid January 2013. I sent out save the dates right after we got engaged (Mayish) so people could rally plan. I am sending out invites this month, with a return date by mid October, so they can think about it for a while and I have a little over two months notice. Final payment for us is due early December. With destination weddings, I really dont think there is such thing as too early, or too much notice (or too many reminders!)
  11. I got them as a trial for my wedding when I was recently in Mexico for a week - was in the sun all day, in the ocean, pool, etc. and they stayed on great!
  12. You can wear mascara with both the semi-perm and the daily. The semi perm you don't want to wear waterproof mascara with, as it loosens the glue bond and can make them fall out quicker. Otherwise they just fall off with the natural shedding of your lashes in about 3 weeks. I just skipped the mascara when I was swimming (you don't need it with them), and then used it at night. I think if you were afraid of crying at the wedding, you could probably use the waterproof for one day (or just on the bottom lashes and skip it on the top) and not worry to much about it. those suckers stay on pretty well.
  13. Mine are super blonde, and I have had both temporary lashes and extensions - all in black-black. Neither looked weird at all. The falsies are so much more dramatic that your other lashes just seem to blend in. That being said, I wear mascara with the temporary ones, so they arent blonde when I have them on. With the extentsions I went without mascara a lot though, and you couldnt tell. I got a ton of compliments from those who knew I had them on how real they looked.
  14. Here they are: http://www.amazon.com/Package-Small-Mini-Glass-Stoppers/dp/B004ZXW4MK Then I just printed little fortune cookie fortune sized notes, rolled them and tied them with raffia, and put them in with a tiny sea shell (I found some on the beck when I was in Playa Del Carmen last but you can buy tiny shells too if you want to add them).
  15. Definitely do it! They take a little getting used to when you first go swimming with them, but are so low maintanence and look gorgeous!
  16. Have to agree- I did a TON of research online and on these boards, and in the end, went with Del Sol. Their pictures are incredible, and I can't wait to see mine (wedding is in 6 months so I have a wait!)!!! They may not be the cheapest in RM, but you more than get what you pay for I think, and at the end of all the planning and the big day, the pictures are all you have left to remember it all!
