Thanks, ladies!

It I'll be a bit of a pain, but it is literally saving me hundreds on centerpieces and I love he look. I can fit about 4-6 in a large carry on, so I think me and my FI can get most, and I will probably enlist a couple bridesmaids to take 1-2. I'll see if I'm ambitious enough I bring them back home

I've seen those cute "Bride" Victoria's Secret robes, and other similar gear for the getting ready photos. I thought about ordering the robe, but for $60 and something I'd only wear once, decided to DIY-it. I bought this satin robe at Walmart.com (they had white too, but I liked the "something blue), for $16. For another $15, I got some iron on rhinestone letters from Etsy. Instead of "bride," I did "Mrs. Sprague." Figured that was cute, and I could wear it on my honeymoon and beyond that way!

I also made these fun senor and senorita signs for pictures and chairs (only missing is the accent mark - they don't make those in cutouts in America, it appears - not sure what I am going to do about that).

Next up, centerpieces (and apologies for the crappily-lit, poor background cell phone photography). That's why I am so glad I have the professionals taking care of the final shots at the wedding. I may only be an intermediate crafter, but my pictures don't do any of this stuff justice! I am skipping a lot of flowers at my ceremony (it'll be dark for most of my January evening beach reception anyway), and am doing beachy lanterns as the centerpieces. These will be surrounded by all white shells, and menus, placecards, and maracas will add pops of color. I bought the lanterns at Ikea for $7 each (getting them to MX will be the biggest challenge). I also bought the white pillar candles at Ikea for $3.50 each, then wrapped them in a ribbon and raffia, and attached a white finger starfish. Should add some nice light to the tables under the stars (and will save me gobs of cash over flowers)!

I've been getting a lot of this from my FI's family, who does not travel much. Between work and fun, I've been to more than 7 different Mexican cities more than 20 times, drank the water, eaten from street carts and never had an issue. I ended up putting a whole page on my wedding website with stats on the crime (and how it's as far away as Chicago to San Fran from where we are), and other concerns. Now when I hear grief, I just direct them there- to documented facts! So frustrating!

I'm curious about this too- I have travel insurance, but so far no wedding insurance...

Has anyone used, or is anyone considering using Wedit in place of a wedding videographer? I just learned about it on Pinterest- apparently for $500 they send you 5 flip cams, which your guests use to film the festivities from a variety of viewpoints, and then they edit it into a wedding video for you. Thought it could be a fun and more affordable alternative to a videographer... Anyone have personal experience with the company they can share? www.wedit.com

I have the tape-in hair extentsions and have for three years - totally recommend them for your wedding. I get mine redone every 8-10 weeks, and they are super natural. They're real hair, they don't damage my hair (like I said, they're "tape in," but they stay in until removed by your stylist). You can swim, wash, brush and style them just like your normal hair. They're also a lot more affordable that you think. For me, the hair itself is about $150 through my salon, plus the time it takes to have them put in (about 45 minutes). I know a bunch of girls who have them put in for their weddings and all have loved them. I can't speak for the clip in kind (although I have a friend who has the real hair clip ins and likes) but the semi-permanent ones are great because you don't have to mess with them!

Agree - I think having some more neutral colors with a "pop" of something bright is stunning for a beach wedding. We're doing whites, silvers and sandy colors, and then bright orangy-pink is the pop. It's enough to belend with the sand I think, and add a tropical touch (just like your green)!

I love that they can plant yours- what a cool way to remember your wedding by- every time they stop and smell the flowers!
