  1. I am using them - My wedding is in a little over a month, so will let you know how they turn out!
  2. You might ask your seamstresses if they can pack the dress in a carry-on for you. I was planning on trying my luck with the plane closets, but my seamstress told me not to risk it, and to instead bring a carry-on bag with me to my last fitting. She'd then finish the dress, pack it for me and have it waiting that way when I picked it up. My dress is lace, and she said it shouldnt wrinkle at all, but even if it's not, the resort can usually steam it for you, and sometimes all it takes is a bit of tropical humidity to make any small wrinkles fall right out!
  3. You should be able to if you check them, just don't carry on. Call your airline to be sure though!
  4. My wedding isnt until January, but I can post some then! I am just getting bridesmaid bouquets thru them, but they were half the price of my resort - like $35 each, and the pics they sent me of the ones they'd done for another bride before, just like the ones I want, were gorgeous!
  5. I am using them at my wedding in January. I saw someone post in another thread (can't recall which one) that they used them, and that the bridesmaid bouquets she got from Flores Riviera Maya we much prettier than the bridal bouquet the resort provided as part of her package!
  6. I'd look into the gazebo - it's right by the beach, witha great view of the beach, but much more private. We are doing our reception on the beach, but it doesnt start until 5:30, and in my experience, the beach winds down quite a bit by then, compared to earlier in the day. Might be a good compromise for you guys?
  7. You have a sound system with microphone included at no additional fee for both, according to my WC. I believe the WC will run at least the ceremony music for you at no extra fee. Not sure about the rest of your Qs, but would love to know what you find out!
  8. We are doing something similar- hanging with the family/friends in Mexico for a few days after the wedding, then doing a separate honeymoon down the road. We will be away for the wedding for 9 days, so figured we'd enjoy that, but save a solo trip to look forward to a few months later! I'm afraid if I went on a real honeymoon after the week+ away from work, right after Christmas no less, I'd be too stressed by the end to enjoy it!
  9. Love these! All you ladies are so creative - and gorgeous pics! I'm wearing my grandmother's garter as my "something borrowed."
  10. Ladies who just married at the Royal recently and used the non-covered chairs for the ceremony, did you pay extra for these? I went back in the forum and it sounds like the policy has gone back and forth in the last 2 years...
  11. Hey lady! I am having a shower. One fun idea for a DW is to have a shower with a travel theme, and register on honeyfund.com for excursions, money to go toward airline tickets, spa treatments, room upgrades, etc. for your honeymoon (or if you're wrapping your honeymoon into the wedding). People can also bring you related gifts like gift certificates for travel gear. The other good thing about honeyfund is you can also add items like contributions towards things like house down payments, etc. and there is a space uptop to write a nice little note about how "you have most of the home items you need already, except the big things..." You get to pick the amounts of the gifts towards the goal (for example, 10 $10 gifts could be available to go toward something that costs $100). That way people may be giving you money, but they (hypothetically) are picking what you use it toward - even though you really have free reign. It feels more personal for some people I think. We also registered at MyRegistry.com for those more old-fashioned people who have to buy an actual gift. It allows you to pull any item from all over the internet onto one registry, so that you don't get stuck just registering at Bed, Bath and Beyond, etc. if you really just need one or two items from all over. Ours has everything from luggage, to dishes, to camping gear on it.
  12. That's awful! Did you have wedding insurance? I don't as of now, but wonder if it's worth it for things like this. My photogs are amazing and highly highly recommended, so no worries there, but you never know what unforseen circumstances might come up, with flowers, weather, etc. I'm beginning to give it more thought. I hope you get your pictures!
  13. For anyone else that comes after me and has the same Q, I received an insider tip from someone associated with the hotel who said to just have my TA book him as 16, and that they won't ask for documentation when he arrives. Just FYI in case anyone else runs into the same issue!
  14. Hi ladies! I talked to my travel agent about Beaches Resorts also (ended up going with Royal PDC in the end). I guess it used to be called Beaches Boscobel, and she told me the company has spent a lot of money recently on renovations, adding a Pirates Water Park for the kids, etc. Maybe that helps a little? You can call her for the 411 (no charge), which might give you peace of mind. Also, totally recommend you have a TA book you and guests - she saved our guests a ton, we didn't have to put anything down to hold rooms and we get $50 back for everyone who books with our promo code So far, we have more than $1000 coming back to us to help us pay for our travel!
  15. Whoops- computer glitch - didn't mean to post 12 times (but I am pretty excited) !
