  1. I just sent the BDW travel agency a request..how long did it take you all to get a response?
  2. All that matters is that you are happy with your decision! We have opinions flying around our families also, but for the most part everyone is happy for us and ready for a vacation!! Good luck shopping!!!
  3. I dont need hair/make up as my best friend does both and she is coming and the room upgrade is not that important to me at this point. We are leaving the RIU a couple of days after the wedding for out actual honeymoon so we will be spending money there.
  4. I guess I should mention my reasoning is because I will not need hair and make up as my best friend does both and she is coming. I am also trying to a little low budget, so the room upgrade is not that important to me. I'm not exactly sure which room we are going with anyways at this point!!!
  5. We planned on just going with the "Free 2013 package". It's not really free but it is not near what the other packages were. In the beginning we were only supposed to have a few guests. But adding $20 per person, even up to 30 additonal people is still cheaper than going with any of the other packages.
  6. Ugh, I need to get to 150 posts! So many templates I want to see!!
  7. I think I have come up with some questions! Our wedding package includes 10 guests only. I was wondering if anyone knows if we can just pay the additional $20 per person or if they will make you upgrade at some point (It seems we have MANY more people than expected). I am not interested in all of the extras in the other packages and it will be more cost effective to just add $ for each person over 10 count. And....is the $20 for cake/sparkeling wine AND to be a part of the semi-private reception?? After reading through some of this thread today (due to my lack of motivation at work), the packages in the past seem to be much different. For the cocktail hour following the ceremony I see that to include app's is an additonal $14 (?) per person? But, is the cocktail hour free?? And it also looks like you can provide an I Pod and they will play music for you if you want?? I am not going to do a private reception following the ceremony, just sticking to the semi private dinner. I am thinking of moving over to the Riu Tequila for the Disco, I am not going to spend the extra money there for a reception due to the at home reception. I am also thinking some of the older people may not want to stay up late and party and this will give them an option......I have seen that other people have done that as their reception....any thoughts??
  8. VERY interested in the cigar roller!!! We were just going to purchase cigars also! Do you know who he contacted??
  9. OMG ladies! You are way ahead of me! Lol. When I start planning I get a bit stressed so I have several idea's I have but have not started much. We will be arriving at the resort on Wed May 1st and will be getting married on Sat May 4th, 2013 at 5:00pm! Origionally this was supposed to be a very small group so I chose to go with the "free" wedding package. After friends and family have all discussed it seems like we have several more people interested in going so who knows. At least you can change the package at anytime, however the other packages dont seem to add much for the $. I may just add the $20 per person over 10. Thankfully, my best friend does hair so I dont need that!! I have a personal friend who is a travel agent. We are waiting on flights to open, here in a couple weeks, to start puting info togethor for guests. I have not sent out save the dates but plan on getting to that soon. The DIY passport info is pretty neat, where did you guys get all of that info? I am by no means crafty so I may end up ordering some or something. I think we will also do the semi-private reception at Chili's after a cocktail hour. I would like to have a mariachi band but the cost is pretty steep for 45 min!!! Whoa!! I am a pretty low key person so I am trying to keep this simple and fun. I figured after dinner there are places we can go drink and hang out without a private reception!! I think I am going to order insulated mugs, fans and maracha's for guests. That is all I have planned at this time. Does anyone have any pricing info on the photography packages through the resort?? Any photos of the bouquet's in the packages?? We are going to have a reception here when we get back so we are trying to stay on a tight budget!! We are planning on staying at the RIU from May 1st to May 7th and then we may go off to a different resort for a few days for a "honeymoon" since we will have more guests than expected. This, however, is still up in the air.
  10. Thanks so much! I just got it! I'm using a travel agent also, just someone I already knew. I'm doing packages so she says she cant get airfare info until mid June. We have several more people than we expected would commit so it's going to be much more expensive than I thought lol. Oh well, it will be fun!
  11. Our date is May 4th!! I am very excited!! If you would e mail me that list that would be awesome! [email protected]. I dont think I am a priority to e mail back at this point since it is so far away! lol. Thanks!!!
  12. I am planning a wedding for RPRM in May 2013!!! I was actually wondering when/how we can find out the cost of the extra's?? Do I have to wait for the wedding planner to contact me 2 months before the wedding??
  13. I am planning a wedding for May 2013!!! I was wondering at what point they give you the fee's for the extra's? Do I have to wait for the wedding planner to contact me a couple months before the wedding?? Thanks!!
  14. I am getting married May 4th, 2013 and RPRM!!! Very excited due to all of the reviews and beautiful photos!! Obviously at the very beginning of planning at this point. We have decided on a very basic package because we are very low key people, however we have several family and friends who are coming!! I have been e mailing some questions to the WC and she is probably already annoyed with me lol! Anyways, we were told to add $20 pp after 10 people for cake/wine. I am wondering if we should really do this or not. At most weddings it seems like most people are not that interested in the cake and I was wondering how far the cake will go. Any suggestions?? Also, I was really wanting to do a cocktail hour with the mariachi band and also have them during the wedding. Does anyone know how much the fee per hour is fo the band?? I'm sure I will have many more questions to come!!! Thanks for any help!
