Who to send Save the Dates to?
jriftin replied to MissBubbles205's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Decided to not send STDs, because the Invitations took us so long to order and get sent, there's only 9.5 months left till the wedding now. Yikes, time flies. -
I also have Lynda, but I haven't really done anything on the planning side, beyond reserving the date and getting an e-mail from her with all the info. I feel like there's still some time left, but as Jenny said, it seems like it's flying by. My added surprise prior to the wedding, my FI and I are due in January. That puts a little brake on getting things like the dress, etc. Anyone else facing unexpected challenges in their planning process?

Thanks for the info. This makes me so confused, because I've seen some pictures of beautifully decorated private rooms that have a dance floor and are pretty nice. My problem is that my wedding is probably going to have around 80 people, so we are looking for an air-conditioned space, where we can have a DJ, dance floor, room to move around, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For Canadian Brides going to Sensatori: Is anyone else finding that the prices quoted for rooms alone (when reserving a block) by a TA are almost the same (within $200 CAD) as the price for a package you can buy online through Sunwing or itravel200.com? I am wondering if maybe it's just the TA I am using, but I cannot, in good conscience, ask my guests to spend more money than necessary to come to my wedding. I would rather have more people I love be able to make it, then have the $450/night/person honeymoon suite. Is it just me?

Hi there, would you happen to have any pictures of the Salons? I believe they are called Salon Sky, Salon Ocean, etc. I haven't seen any brides on here having their reception there, so I am hoping to find some more info on this. We would really like a private Reception with DJ and dance floor and I'm trying to figure out the best place for that, with 50-80 wedding guests. Thanks for your help!

Ladies...here's a quote from their website (in description of the Free Sweet Wedding Package): "Valid in Canada (except at AZS), in USA and MEX and reservations booked at published rates only. Must be requested at least 30 days in advance. Free Wedding Package is not valid for AZS in Canada." I booked the Pearl, because we're coming from Norway and to book the "free" you have to book at their published rates, I think we got a good deal on the room rate from our TA, saving us and our guests lots of money. Since people are travelling so far to be with us, we'd rather spend some money on the wedding then cost even more for everyone else.

Good luck on your special day! It does sound like it'll be amazing, and the Minister sounds like a wise man. Although I imagine it'll be hard for you to concentrate on what he's saying since you'll be so lost in each other. Please post your pictures and reviews once you get back. We considered Le Reve for our location too, but have too many guests, so settled on Azul Sensatori instead. I'd love to see what could have been. Anyway, have an amazing time! Congratulations!

I had such a hard time figuring out who was who in the zoo. I did get an e-mail from Dena as well a couple of weeks ago, does that mean she's gone? Also, for reserve the date I was dealing with Lynda Gomez. There has also been an e-mail from Nahiomy Paulino for reserving a block of rooms. Can anyone tell me why we need so many people to deal with over there? I am still not clear as to who my actual WC is going to be....lol

Wow MJKH...thank you for posting that! The amount of detail that you put into your special day is amazing. Makes me a little nervous though, because we have family from all over the world coming and we, ourselves, are coming from Norway, so won't be able to bring as much stuff for details. Wish I could send stuff to the hotel in advance. Congratulations!

Thanks for link to the deal, it's hard to pass up!

Show us your wedding dress!
jriftin replied to Jennifer's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
That's gorgeous! Fits you beautifully and looks like it's nice and airy. -
Yes, I feel like the package deals you get from the bigger companies, like Sun Wing and Sunquest (Canada) are pretty hard to beat in terms of price. But I know for us, the room rate guarantee is going to be a nice feature when we have almost half of the people coming from Europe and the same deals don't exist here.

Such a great tip, thanks! Congratulations, looks like it was a blast. You said that you provided the list of songs to the DJ, did he have them all with him, did you get him the list prior to the wedding, and if so, how long in advance? I will probably have a few Jewish elements in my wedding as well, music in particular, so would be nice to know if we should download to iPod ourselves?

show us your rings!
jriftin replied to NABUMBAH's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I guess my ring pales in comparison to some of the gorgeous big rocks on here, but I am very much into sports and wanted a simpler ring to wear every day. My FI flew 13 hours across the world to surprise me with a proposal, so I think the story makes up for the little bling! -
Who to send Save the Dates to?
jriftin replied to MissBubbles205's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Don't think we'll have an AHR because our families are so spread out through US, Canada and Norway. We live in Norway, so only FI's family could come anyway. Hence the wedding in Mexico, sort of middle ground for everyone...lol -
Hi, I'm getting married in July 2013 at Azul Sensatori and I am having a hard time figuring out how to go about booking a block of rooms. We have guests coming from all over US, Canada and Europe and I know Canada and US have great deals on packages (air+hotel), but have found nothing from Europe on that account. Anyone able to help me? How do I co-ordinate all the travelers? Is it better to just book a block of rooms and then have people buy airfare individually? Any help or advice, greatly appreciated, thanks!
