  1. These are amazing pics. You look beautiful and so happy, and I love all of the shots and how the photographer laid them out on her blog! Good job all around!
  2. You're invited to the Real Wedding of... Jamie & Kyle Wedding Details Bride Jamie Groom Kyle Wedding Date February 16, 2013 Location Villa Mia, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Hometown Tahoe City, CA Pictures from Jamie & Kyle's destination wedding (click to enlarge): Why did you choose to have a destination wedding? We choose to have a destination wedding because we wanted to celebrate in a tropical place, and keep our wedding intimate. Why did you choose your location? Villa Mia was amazing. We had a 15 bedroom villa and then we had two other villas on the property. Villa Cosmica with 5 bedrooms and Villa Gran Dia with 6 bedrooms. It included a full cooking and bar staff along with housekeeping. It was an amazing opportunity to have our own private resort. What were your wedding colors and/or theme? We had a Mexican themed wedding with many traditional parts of the heritage, along with lots of beautiful patterns and laces. We had a mariachi band and fiesta the night before the wedding. At the reception we had a pinata, churros, and lots of fun! Every wedding is special in its own right. What made your wedding unique? Our wedding was amazing. We had 60 guests who were all able to have our own private resort for 3 days. Our guests all are saying they have to make it back one day. It was so beautiful, private, and the setting was amazing. One of the major challenges of putting together a destination wedding is finding and working with your ideal vendors from afar. What wedding vendors did you use to put together this spectacular wedding? We had great vendors. Our photographer was Seth Warren. He is from Baja and is an amazing photographer. Our florist was flowers to go Vallarta they were great. The wedding coordinator was named Vanina. She is included with the villa and is the owners daughter. My wedding dress was Ann Taylor. We got our wedding invitations off of Etsy through Sprazzle designs. They were in airplane ticket format. Your wedding was absolutely beautiful! Your posts and reviews will be extremely helpful to our new brides. Thank you for sharing you special day with us at BDW. Dear members, if you planned your wedding with the help of our community we would love to hear from you! 3. YAY so excited to hear that all went well!! You looked amazing and can't wait to see more pics!
  4. OK I decided to just go for it. Purchased these in Regency for my MOH to go with this dress: I will let you know how they look in person once I receive!
  5. Hello ladies, I was just on Etsy browsing the barefoot sandals options. I stumbled across a seller who makes cute crocheted barefoot sandals that match the David's Bridal color swatches, so they'd be a perfect match/gift for bridesmaids. I haven't purchased these yet, still thinking about it, so I can't vouch for how they look in person. But I know how hard it is to match colors sometimes so I thought I'd share. Plus they are cheap! Only $14! And for the brides that like a little sparkle or beading, I'm thinking you could always spruce these up by adding your own crystals here and there. Happy Etsying, everyone. 6. Yeah I will check on that! Oh boo, but having lots of loved ones who want to celebrate you is a good problem! I'm sure your wedding will be beautiful!!! Where did you end up going to instead?
  7. I'm using Saab like Dazeydawl mentioned. But hear good things about Misha Earle and Merrick Cousley too, all of whom were mentioned here so you are off to a good start!
  8. My other concern with taking everything with me is we have a connecting flight. We fly from Los Angeles to Miami and then on to Jamaica. So I'm nervous about our bags making that second flight, in addition to the hassle of me taking everything through. But ahh I really can't decide! Pros and cons to each!
  9. The planning process with the WC was super easy. There's a checklist/spreadsheet to fill out and I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted so by the time I got it, it was easy to fill in. The extras did start adding up, and yes, the dance floor is $1000. I tried to push back on that since it's crazy but they told me they can't do anything about the price since it's an outside company who comes in to build it. We are having around 40 guests and for everything (flowers, dance floor, chivari chair upgrade, cupcake upgrade, welcome bonfire, DJ, steel drum band, vendor fees + day pass for the outside photographers, extra costs for the guests over 20, etc.) it is about $12k.
  10. Nice! Makes me feel good about my choice that you're a planner and have looked at so many places and you're still choosing Secrets! Yay! Yes! All of the details with the resort are done and confirmed. Now I just have some final things like programs, escort cards etc. to make! And finalizing the music, but FI is in charge of that. He's giving me panic attacks though because he's not what I would like to call super organized and he told me he's been writing songs down on envelopes when he thinks of them. I asked why he doesn't just start a word doc or excel sheet since he's mostly doing this at work. He has no good response to that. Oh and he says he's lost two of the envelopes! Luckily I don't care that much about what we play. Haha.
  11. Um, totes jealous you've been able to go so many times while planning! Bet that has been a huge help!!
