WARNING for those bringing a photographer to Cuba!

Hi all, we had booked our wedding photographers for our wedding in Cuba (we are getting married Nov 21, 2014) back in December 2013. They have just told me they cannot shoot our wedding because they fear they will be arrested. Can they apply for a work visa? They were supposed to be staying at the resort with us for a week. Is this illegal? -
Hi ladies, is anyone getting married in Cuba? We are getting married Nov 21 in Cayo Santa Maria and our photographers just cancelled on us. Did anyone use a cuban photographer besides Alex (he is booked). Thanks.

Hi again ladies, we are getting married Nov 21 and our wedding photographers have cancelled on us officially. Anybody use a cuban photographer other than the one at the resort? I've contacted Alex and he is unavailable.

Hi Ladies, Did any of you bring a photographer with you? We booked and put down a deposit for our photographers and now they have contacted me and are saying they may not be able to come as they are worried about having their camera gear confiscated and that they are looking into matters. I'm freaking out, our wedding is less than six months away. Is it illegal to have an outside photographer in cuba or do they just need a permit? Thanks!

Thanks for getting back to me! I have tried Alex, but he may be booked. I'm just waiting for him to get back to me. $1200 seems reasonable especially if they pay for their own travel. Would you mind sharing their website with me?
