I decided to just bring my own MAC makeup and do my own.. hrmm ..Maybe I will just pay the 40 and get it done there. I stressed insurance to everyone, I have great travel insurance via work that covers me and my family but we still bought the extra :-) Never can be to careful.

We have 18 guests and we are doing the free wedding. (But note it is not confirmed free until you get there...) We are adding on a private dinner, and the extras I wanted and it comes out cheaper then the middle package.

HI All.... Just giving my two cents on the TA stuff.. I didn't find a good agent until my third try! Honestly if you feel they are not giving you enough attention move on! I felt bad ditching the first one.. but I am so glad I did. My TA has done everything for me.... -I told her what I wanted.. she gave me a list of resorts to pick from and HELPED me decide what would be best for my group - booked my date at the resort .. i told her what dates would work for me, and she called them. None of these email the resort myself and wait days/weeks for a reply. And got around the 3 business day needed that they claim you must have. - Found the best rate.. she went above and beyond . She would get a rate from one travel group and go to another to ask them to match it... Even AFTER the group rate was done and over with she was able to secure a lower price for additional guests. - any issues with the resort she has step up and helped.. Anyone getting married at Now Larimar will know about the change to outside photographers... My TA contact the resort to get that straighten out :-). - got us extra luggage allowance for free - gave me coupons for airport parking We have done everything over email, which is a great help. I had one TA who told me I had to come to see her... she worked mon to fri banking hours.. I have two babies... and a hubby to be that travels. Not a chance! Travel agents got hook ups and can get you what you want. You really just got to find one who is willing to go that extra for you! I will be sending my TA a very nice gift and thank you card once we are all said and done. I think every bride should have that great of an experience when planning thier wedding :-)

We are doing a beach ceremony and our reception is at the Carnival Terrace. The beach is not private from what I know or from weddings I attended at other resorts.

BUT he took it upon myself to contact the resort and complain without me knowing... Here is the reply he just got :-) Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you may have experienced in respect to the information about the outside photographers. At Now Larimar Punta Cana and Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana we take pride in ensuring our customer’s satisfaction. Therefore, after analyzing the situation, our management has taken the following actions: At both hotels we have gone a step ahead and our team focused on the photo and video service for weddings have been renewed, as well as the photo packages, cameras and other equipment, in order to provide you the highest professional level in this service. The outside vendor fee to be paid for outside photographers will be of US$500.00 (subject to change without previous notice). This fee does not include food, beverage, or any other services. In case you are interested in any extra service for your photographer, please consult your Wedding Coordinator. The fee mentioned above will be applied for new requests. In case you have confirmed (by email) to the Wedding Coordinator about your outside photographer before February 16th, 2013, the previous cost of US$150.00 will be honored. When the photographer is staying at the hotel as part of the wedding group, the outside photographer fee will be absolved. It is not allowed to pay a stay for local photographer in order to avoid the fee; in this case, the US$500 fee will be applied. Thank you very much Carrol. I signed my contract back in April/May 2012.. I also went through everything sent to me and no where does it state policys can change without notice.. prices can and wedding packages can. I even have my wedding spreadsheets done and confirmed with the wedding dept stating my outside photographer, thererfore legally they can not deny this. So fingers crossed it does not come to that sort of situation ;-)

Just a thought.. at 3 to 4 weddings a day... How much coverage is actually given to each wedding? I am sure the pictures are great... But I want a dedicated to me only person for the day.. not a hour or two. I want all the little things captured, I want special effects added .. To think of having my wedding pictures ready the day after they are taken is not for me. That to me mean you got a fancy camera and you took some pictures, printed them and put them on a cd.. like anyone can do these days. My photographer is coming to the resort at lunch time.. my wedding is at 5pm. He also stated he includes usually 12 hours coverage and I am provided with 2000+ digital prints with edits. He has ME only that day... And I will not get these pictures for maybe two months later.. thats fine. Looking at his work it is so worth the wait! Everyone is different on what the most important thing of their day is to them.. me it is pictures :-) Looking at WBA photo website ... there is no mention of Now Larimar.... I was emailed the prices last year To have close to what I wanted in pictures it was $2500+: Royal All photos on CD high quality HD(RAW) Room service , dinner service and trash the dress. - No dance? Oh another 200 dollars.. What about other pictures you may want before the actualy wedding? 1 h coverage throughout preparation bride + groom - not enough time IMO, to add an extra hour 200US.. crazy All photos in a DVD HD (RAW) - NO EDITS, I could have my aunt or sister in law with her fancy camera do this for me. Same difference, I want edits and some extra touches to them :-) All photos on DVD in a slideshow (photo + music) - This is so old.. anyone can do this so nothing special All photos printed 6x8 - Waste of pictures Photos souvenirs for your family size 4x6 2500 US

I am angry becauseIi already have paid in full for an outside photgrapher and not able to get a refund. Good pictures or not.. it is not who I want to take them.

If you want to add dinner for your photographer, the cost is US$35 per person, or you can include him/her in your dinner as extra guest. If they want to fight that on my day.. bring it! Wonder if Sunwing will allow me to change resorts? But I guess good luck finding a resort with a wedding date available Can anyone comment on if this is possible with sunwing, or if you have done it before. We are all booked and paid (9 rooms in the preferred club)... I dont mind having to pay a change fee.. beats losing the thousands I paid for pictures

soo.. i am late to the game here.... Even if we already booked like last year, and was told we were allowed ... we no longer are? Is that even legal? No one has conacted me with any changes, and i have my photographer paid in full.. with no refunds... And I made a point to ask them BEFORE I booked....

No there is no credit for the free wedding if you upgrade. Outside vendor fee is 150 a person ( so if you get outside Dj and there is two guys.. thats 300 dollars) If you want to PM me your email i can send you the info and cost sheets I have and put together myself to help me decide
